why would it do that? my bedroom windows are ill-fitting and i woke up in a veritable winter wonderland. but do not fret, as the honorable gordon campbell has just sent me a double-stuffed check combining a GST refund and a new, bonus climate action tax credit. with this money, totalling at $110.50, i have procured not only a bottle of sub-par vodka and a lovely package of cigarettes, but also the HONEYWELL HZ-306C CERAMIC HEATER. i now sit here in my bedroom with no distinction between this once frigid room and an african safari.

I get all excited to go. I arrive, expecting to have a blast. And then I begin to realize that I'm about to spend the next eight hours battling crowds and waiting in lines-all for a short glimpse at something (potentially) interesting.

When hit with this reality, the next logical step is to plan a route. None of this laissez-faire nonsense. If you want to get the most in, you need a clear strategy. All of a sudden, a fun night out on the town becomes this regimented schedule with time slots. Discussion will take place on the way to the next exhibit, thank you very much.

Another tricky dimension to Nuit Blanche is groups. Everyone wants to travel in groups. On a fun evening, a large flock of friends is great. But this evening is no longer about perusing-it's a battlefield. Thus, groups become a dangerous thing. A political thing. Who in the group gets the say on where we go? How long do we wait for stragglers? Do we stop and let Brian use the washroom or is he left in dust? After all, he can just meet us as OCAD. Friendships are tested during Nuit Blanche.

Like Canada's Wonderland, the idea of Nuit Blanche is fantastic. It's supposed to be a few square kilometers of fun fun fun. But by the end, I just want out out out. People are boisterous (often drunk), your body temperature rollercoasters, your feet hurt even if you did bring proper footwear (which you probably didn't) and the number of available washrooms is insufficient.

Of course, next year I'll forget all of this and get pumped again. The circle of life continues.

Alice in Wonderland

Uno de los cuentos más genial

¿Recuerdan cuál es su libro infantil favorito?

[caption id="attachment_11" align="aligncenter" width="239" caption="Alice in Wonderland"][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_14" align="alignleft" width="273" caption="Corrupciones Mentales y Visuales"][/caption]

Dudes, it's been a while since I've had this much fun. Since Talea has her license back now, I obviously had to take advantage of this thrilling opportunity. Neither of us drive on a regular basis, as we are hardcore believers in the public transportation system, superior to cars in our fair city. But the allure of a road trip was just too much, and I had a few errands to run anyways, so why not? Renting a car turned out to be ridiculously cheap and so we made a day of it!

The first agenda of the day was to bring two of my bunnies to their new home at a farm north of the city. It was sad to have to give them away, and of course I'll miss them. But with so many things calling for my attention, what with the website, the knitting and crafting, work, the energy it takes with a long distance relationship and dealing with legal issues, immigration and economic strain, the bunnies were not getting the attention they deserved. And frankly, four bunnies is a lot, especially in a teeny weeny apartment. So now they live on a farm with tons of room. Mommy and daddy bunny are still together in my bedroom, and they were never really bonded to their offspring. And as for the two little ones, they were not as closely bonded with me. So no bunny feelings were hurt, and everyone has more space and love! A good thing.

Along the way, we stopped for gas, got some Doritos, Dr. Pepper and some donuts - Krispy Kreme! You can get them up here in certain places and oohhhh they were so good! The car came with a cd player, and so it was Garth Brooks, the Dixie Chicks and Janis Joplin all the way.

After the farm, we went to Wonderland! WOOOOOOOOO ROLLER COASTERS!!!!!!

[caption id="attachment_169" align="aligncenter" width="477" caption="we are both about 30 lbs lighter than our hoodies would imply, please make note"][/caption]

Talea was a little uncertain and wanted to start with some of the easier rides, but I tossed her onto some of the more hardcore ones pretty quickly, knowing she'd get over it. After three screamfests, she was convinced enough to go on The Bat which, while by no means the newest or baddest ride, has daunted many. I was so worried she was just going to end up holding my purse the entire day, but it turns out she's not immune to awesome.

After The Bat we went to Hanna Barbera land, which is the kiddie end of the park with all things Jetsons and Flinstones and Scooby Doo. Every time I go to Wonderland I have to go to Hanna Barbera land to ride the Ghoster Coaster, a kiddie coaster that terrified me back in the day, to reface my fear and kick it in the face. To be completely truthful, it's a pretty hardcore ride for a kid! I would have taken a video if it hadn't been too much work just staying in my seat. We were rocking around to the point of injury and with two sets of grown up lady hips jammed in an itty bitty seat designed for a grown up and a kid, well I damn near popped out of the stupid thing. Just take my word for it, I had good reason to be traumatized.

Anyways, Ghoster Coaster aside, kiddie land is always a fun colourful place to be, and I enjoy the ritual side trip. Onlookers? Pfft, whatevs man.

Afterwards we went on more rides and then stopped for the best lunch ever. We're in Canada's Wonderland, might as well go super Canadian with poutine, right?

[caption id="attachment_170" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="soooo goood"][/caption]

Then we watched some donuts being made, but did not partake as we had already eaten some Krispy Kremes.

[caption id="attachment_171" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Mmmm DONUTS!"][/caption]
[caption id="attachment_172" align="aligncenter" width="225" caption="random photo"][/caption]

We also found the most hardcore carnie ever. He wasn't hardcore in that he was old or tattooed or smelled of cabbage. He was just some kid who had apparently had enough of people trying their hand at operating the safety restraints themselves.

Baseball bats, people! If we didn't stop fiddling with the devices, he was going to hit our knees with bats! I guess that's still better than falling out of a ride, so I just shut my mouth and let him lock me in.

Then we returned to our favourite coaster, The Vortex, which climbs up and then flies down the side of the mountain and swings you nearly into the water below. We were also getting hit with water from above, as it was drizzling lightly for most of the day (no lineups! sweet!) but decided to start raining and even hailing for about five seconds while we were on the ride. It was still pretty rad though.

The first time we went on the ride, I forgot where that first big drop was.

By the time we rode all of the rides (all the good ones at least) we were pretty tired, so instead of staying until the park closes, we went to nearby Ikea where we got to spend company money on new art for the reception area. What pair of chicks doesn't love surfing the shelves of Ikea with someone else's money? It was fun times, and we found everything we needed and stayed under budget too! We were close enough to work that we could drop off the art at the office and save ourselves having to haul anything on the subway. Then we went to our friend May's house for a quick visit and coffee, dropped the rental car back at the lot, and taxied home through a dark, rainy, overall awesome night to the tune of the Sneaker Pimps.

Today, I cleaned out the rabbit room, bleached the crap out of my kitchen and bathroom, washed all of my dishes and got to spend some quality time with my super sexy boyfriend.

[caption id="attachment_165" align="aligncenter" width="477" caption="Me and My Sexy Man In Dixie Land"][/caption]

Um, over the webcam of course. That photo is from my trip down south this past June. And yes, that is a bottle cap stuck to my chest.

So it has been a fantastic weekend! As for Josh, he had some wild times too and picked up a few souvenirs for me, including a tshirt that says Honky Tonk Badonkadonk. Pictures are on the way, I'm sure ;)

Oh, and I started some new knitting projects, those will be on the way too!

Hey all,
Well, it’s been a while again since I let you all know how everything’s going,

Hey all,

Well, it's been a while again since I let you all know how everything's going, but I've been kinda busy. With what? Well, real life for starters, gotta work and have an income after all :) Next to that I've also been a bit busy with Wonderland, reading books and just relaxing in front of the tv. Oh, yeah, right... and having a migraine for 2 days :(

Anyway, I'll tell you all later about the books and everything, but now I would like to talk a bit more about Wonderland Online. Like I said, I've been a bit busy with that, so let me tell you a bit more about what I've been so busy with.

Character Development

I've been reading a lot in the forum about character builds. I tend to go for characters with some kind of Magical build in all the games I've played so far and I'm doing that with my main character (Shinya) now too. Shinya is based on the character Konno Tsuruko. According to Wonderland Online Konno is:

The only daughter of a tradition Japanse Family. The Elder's love her very much because she is learning the Ikebana in order to preserve Ancient Japanese Culture.

So far I've focussed in adding points to her Intelligence, since she needs that for her spells. BUT... with level 18 at the moment the time has come to focus on other things now. After an extensive research on the Wonderland forum I've come to the conclusion that I need to focus more on CON and WIS now. Shinya is, at the moment, way to weak. So I'll be adding +2CON and +1WIS with every level now, until she's got a decent amount of HP. At least enough to not get killed in the quests I still have open now. Once I've got that done, then I'll have to have a look again at the division of the points.

Since leveling isn't that easy (you don't get heaps of experience with each kill), I think it will take some time before I'll have another level, but that's okay. I do hope, however, that I'll be able to finish up a few quests I still have standing open.

Progress
Since progress will go slow, I probably won't let you know about the progress every day, but I'll be sure to update regularly. If you're interested in particular things, let me know!

In the meantime, I've got an afternoon full of scrapbookfun ahead of me, so I'll see ya all later! Have fun!

One of my friends here in Massachusetts goes to Church every sunday. I’d been feeling a little

One of my friends here in Massachusetts goes to Church every sunday. I'd been feeling a little lost spiritually, and so I went to Church with him today. I haven't been to church in about 5 years. I'd say I don't know what to believe, especially after watching that very very volatile documentary called Zeitgeist. I used to be a christian before watching the documentary, but after that my beliefs were debunked in a strong way and I was left searching. I really did feel like Neo in the Matrix...trying to answer the question "Who is the creator?".

I've always been interested in about everything, and I've also had a lot of energy to learn 'about everything'...cause when I'm interested in something, it becomes the center of my world. So I have been doing a lot of research into the church, the Catholic Church, the possibility that religion was really just a means to maintain control of the masses and keep them in 'subservience mode'. I read a lot about Buddhism, meditation, the Matrix, what it takes to keep a society in control, armageddon, the Mayan calendar and it's doom prediction of 2012, and a lot more. I was searching, because somehow it seemed every way was so sure of itself. Even friggin' scientists telling ME that I - and you, and your aunt - all evolved from primitive forms. And this all started from the Big Bang. Sounds like B.S. to me. Someone had to have done the FIRST job of creation...I mean, doesn't that make sense? People have been lied about different things since the begining of time. I didn't want to continue in a belief system JUST BECAUSE I was born into it. No - I should believe what I have personally found out to be true - after doing my own research. That's what makes sense.

I was really trying to find out who the creator was, and what started all THIS. That's really what I was asking...not "who is God?". Cause somehow, it makes sense that it's the person who created me (and probably the rest of the universe) that I should serve/worship. But I felt I needed proof. Zeitgeist - watch it HERE on Google video - started off by mentioning the striking similarities between the core story of Christianity (savior born on the 25th of December, of a virgin birth...), and then concluding that it was really just astro-theological worship of the sun and stars/constellations that had people had made into dieties - made them into characters... that makes sense.

But is that true? Sadly, it's almost an overwhelming task to think you - on your own - can really get to find out who created the universe. No doubt you'd ONLY have stuff that other people have written or discovered to guide you. So it seems somewhere along the line, you STILL have to accept something someone else has said on faith. I mean, you can't question EVERYthing.

So when I found myself in Church today (Vineyard Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts) sitting with in the congregation like someone thirsty for the word, I was the biggest skeptic. I listened to the pastor - he was talking about Money in the Bible, and how we can be trustworthy with the money we already have...so that God entrusts us with more. First thing I was thinking was that he might have had a good message (not for me tough), but he just didn't sound inspired. I just couldn't see the light in what he was saying.

About three minutes into the sermon, I couldn't even believe how 'childish' this all sounded. I just couldn't believe that he was still talking about 'God is always watching us' and how we spend our money. In my mind, I was shouting - "C'MON!!!!, We're not kids anymore! These fear and control tactics don't work on me, buddy". But looking around, everybody - from older men to the pretty girls - was really into the message. He then went on to tell about some personal experiences he'd had with people who stressed the real importance of giving tithes to God. (that is, giving 1/10th of all your income to God). Of course. More money to God. Sounds like what I expected. I felt like I was in the center of this hypocrisy, but everybody else still had their veils on. I didn't even know where to start debunking of all this I was hearing...

I don't intend to offend people who are Christian (or devoted Christians too) - I used to be quite Christian for most of my life, but I just don't buy this message because I don't feel I have any EVIDENCE that Jesus Christ is real. This is from my personal experience. There are several people I've met who can tell you how they KNOW Jesus Christ exists, but so far none of them sound like evidence. Since my youth...I'd noticed that adults I was around who were Christian did not really have good arguments why Christianity was 'the way'. I was told to accept it on faith. Accept it on faith. That sounds like what the magician told me before my dollar dissapeared ...

I feel worldwide, people need to question more. Seek knowlege outside what is 'presented to you'. Read something very few people have read. Cause one thing I know is that the mainstream supports the mainstream. In school, you're probably going to learn things that are 'accepted' and not volatile. Just as Morpheus told Neo, and as Alice in wonderland found out, the rabbit-hole is very deep. That doesn't meen you should start exploring it. Every step along the way is rewarding (I think).
