To change VLC's skin, load the program, hit the "Settings" menu, select "Switch interface" and then "Skins 2." Once the modern-looking skin loads, you can right-click on blank space, choose "Select skin" and see how the player works and acts with a Winamp Classic skin. If you want to keep the skin, head for the Interface->Main interfaces->Skins dialog in VLC's preferences and make sure "Advanced options" is checked.

Qué onda, qué cuentan?? Nunca falta la gente/avatares que tiene muchas ganas de hacerle de DJ en las  grandes fiestas secondlifescas y se han acercado con la intención de que les explique como es todo este rollo del stream y todo eso. Así que el día de hoy, les explicaré (con mi humilde conocimiento acerca de éste tema) lo que se necesita, cuanto y cómo para poder transmitir su música en el metaverso!!

Los elementos necesarios. (aparte de muchas ganas =P) elementos básicos como un stream, un programa que tenga capacidad de enviar ese stream y.. pues su música y/o en dado caso la voz =D

-Stream: Básicamente es la “señal” que se necesita para enviar o transmitir el audio, considérenlo como una especie de estación de radio. Por lo general se renta, hay proovedores que manejan distintas tarifas y plazos, algunos los encuentras dentro de SL. Hay diversas calidades de stream desde 8kbs hasta 320kbs; entre mas kbs sea, mejor calidad de audio va a tener, pero, igual se debe contar con una buena conexión de banda ancha ya que entre mas calidad mas velocidad de conexión necesitarás. Tomando en consideración lo anterior unos 128kbs es de calidad decente donde una conexión de velocidad promedio pueda tolerar sin problema alguno.

-Software: Hay 3 programas populares: SAM, virtual DJ y Winamp.

SAM Broadcaster es un programa especializado para transmitir streams y manejar listas de música; no es gratuito pero tiene una sesión de prueba que dura un mes para que lo uses y decidas si ser DJ es lo tuyo.

Virtual DJ es otro programa donde su fuerte es la mezclada de música, puedes hacer tus pininos y compartirlos con todo mundo gracias a su capacidad de envío de stream, igual este tiene un costo pero se puede bajar el demo y ver de que se trata.

Winamp es otro programa que prácticamente es un reproductor de música, cuenta con capacidad de stream (con el plug-in del shoutcast), es algo austero en cuanto a la mezcla de rolas y uso de micrófono pero permite la instalación de plug-ins para poder darle un poco más de estilo a tu show y lo bueno del winamp es que es FREE!!

The first version of this status changer for Yahoo! has been released. Currently works with AIMP player and Winamp. This changes the status in Yahoo! Messenger with what song you're listening to. It can also be used as a simple status changer. It's based on macros so it's very easy to use. For the beginning just select a predefined status, start your favorite audio player and click ok. As easy as it can get. Click "Macros" for a list of strings to insert in your status to have aditional info in your status besides the song name. You can have the length of the current song, bitrate, player volume and a few others. More macros coming soon.

Winamp - Has been my favourite audio application for some years now, but currently it seems to be slow, unstable and sluggish. I did like that it was free and could be extended by plugins, but it the last couple of builds have seemed to taken hits performance wise.

Replacement: Musik Cube - I stumbled across Musik Cube this morning when Winamp crashed for the fourth time. Musik cube is very light, fast and does everything you'd expect out of the box. It also supports plugins and the media keys on my keyboard work straight away with no tinkering.

AVG Anti-Virus - Recently forced it's users to upgrade from version 7 to 8. I found version 8 to be slower, more bloated and the new link search feature destablised both Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 3 on my machine. I did like how they made the update screen less intrusive, but navigating the control panel was counter intuitive and difficult to find things. Link Search couldnt be disabled without AVG complaining that it wasnt working properly.

Replacement: Avast! - I was a big fan of avg so replacing it was no small task. After searchinig around for a bit I found alot of AVG users had migrated to Avast! I originally wanted to use ClamAV but unfortunately it lacks an on demand scanner, it's planned for next release so I'll check it out then. Out of the box I found Avast really irritating, but nearly all of the annoyances can be disabled or turned off. One thing I did notice was that if you're doing work with files such as defragging you'll need to disable Avast because it will slow it down considerably. Also the free edition requires manual registration when it expires which is a pain but I usually re-format every few months so that doesnt phase me too much.

That's all the applications I've replaced for now, I'm looking into finding a really good general purpose editor for windows (all file types) syntax highlighting, code completion, line numbers, find and replace etc. If you know of one let me know.

Naja, usw. halt, also irgendwie doch nicht so toll. Es ist aber auch andererseits nicht so, dass mir die Ideen aus allen Richtungen zufliegen, ich bin genötigt, auf Fragen á la "Wie geht's" mit den Standards zu antworten ("Man lebt", Muss ja"). Schön ist das nicht. Mir kam die Idee, mal wieder ein Live-Blogging: Winamp Shuffle zu veranstalten, aber ach, was läuft hier für ein peinlicher Schrott. Obwohl: Egal! Ich mach das jetzt.

Im Moment läuft TLC - Waterfalls. Die Stimme von "Left Eye" Lopez fand ich immer witzig, ist ja auch schon tot seit einer Weile. Bela B. hatte mal den gleichen schwarzen Streifen unter dem Auge wie sie, weil er sie süß fand oder Ärzte-Humor, was weiss ich. Weiter. Haha, witzig, Die Ärzte - Teenager Liebe. Ich spielte am Anfang des Eintrags mit dem Gedanken, eben jenen genau so zu nennen, um zu erzählen, dass ich meine Teenager Liebe, nämlich Lübeck, in schon wenigen Wochen mal wieder besuchen werde. Aber Sommer, Ulmen, Sonnenschein fand ich dann noch witziger und passender, und jetzt habe ich meinen Lübeck-Urlaub sogar schon eingebaut. Möchte eigentlich jemand eine Art Urlaubsvertretung für mich auf diesem Blog machen? Wäre doch mal eine neute, witzige Idee. Außerdem nehme ich mich selbst so wichtig, dass ich glaube, so etwas nötig zu haben.

(Ich skippe übrigens immer ein paar Lieder, weil hier echt nur Scheisse kommt. Nennt es Beschiss, ich nenne es Verarschung.)

Muse - Piano Thing. Das wird causa prima aka Sebastian (aber so heissen so viele) freuen, ich erinnere mich, als ich anno 2004 mal in der Zone zu Besuch war, ein Video vorgespielt gekriegt zu haben, eine Arbeit von ihm oder Robin oder beiden für Musik in der Schule, in der eben dieses Stück als Soundtrack diente. Gab glaube ich sogar 15 Punkte, oder? Ich kenne ja nur Zensuren, 1-6, und da auch eher die zweite Hälfte. Hach, ich mag das Stück, darum lasse ich es jetzt durchlaufen, in dieser Zeit schreibe ich diesen Satz, um die Zeit zu überbrücken, es ist ein relativ langer Satz, aber gleich ist es auch vorbei, sooooooooo - jetzt.
DiC Entertainment - Inspector Gadget. Hui, Erinnerungen usw.
Kermit - Unterschied zwischen Haschisch und Schore. Oh ja, das sind so die lustigen mp3s, diese Spaßdinger, deren Ursprung man nicht kennt. Ist ganz gut. In die gleiche Kategorie (witzige mp3s. von denen keiner weiss, von wem sie sind oder wo man sie her hat) fallen noch Blümchen - Fickt mich zu zweit, Carlo & Mini (die beiden am Koksen und Bumsen), Benjamin & Otto (Benjamin steckt seinen Rüssel in Otto - ich glaube aber zu wissen, aus welcher Folge das originär kommt. Aus der Folge, in der die beiden eine Rallye fahren) und das verwichste Schnuffeltuch (ja, da weiss man, das sind die angefahrenen Schulkinder, aber mal ehrlich, das ist doch das einzige Stück, das man kennt und das jeder auf der Platte hat).

Johny Cash - Wer kennt den Weg. Was für ein Schrott, ich nenne keine Namen, aber Alter, hast Du einen Blödsinn auf Deinem Rechner :-) (rein semantisch würde jetzt hier ein silberner Smilie passen finde ich.) Ja, die Popkultur-Odysse geht weiter, hier ist die Gute Laune-Welle, die neue 107.7 - nonstop Rock und Nickelback. Wer übrigens mal lachen möchte, dem empfehle ich eine Google-Suche nach dem Begriff nickelbacksucks.mp3. Ganz harter Stoff, nur für Kenner.
The Cellar - ein Stück vom Schweigen der Lämmer-Soundtrack, welcher garnicht sooo gut ist. Gut ist hingegen Minilyrics, mit welchem man die Lyrics karaokemäßig angezeigt bekommt, angedockt am Player eurer Wahl. Ich schreibe dass, weil es auch sehr erheiternd ist, wenn die falschen Lyrics auftauchen. So hat der Lämmer-Soundtrack natürlich keinen Text, aber angezeigt wird:

Spooky! Die Ärzte (again) - Tu das nicht. Die Zeile "Bitte tu das nicht" schießt immer in meinen Kopf, wenn eine Person, von der ich viel halte, irgend etwas dummes tut. Zum Beispiel, wenn mir ein alter Freund in $social networtk eine Kettenmail schickt. Zack! Bitte, tu das nicht...
Final Fantasy - Gau. Ich habe den FFVI-Soundtrack in verschiedensten, vor allem orchestrierten Versionen. Warum? Weil der sechste Teil der Reihe verdammt noch mal mit Abstand der beste ist (in jeder Hinsicht, natürlich auch musikalisch), jedenfalls weit besser als dieser Emo-Mist VII, der mir mit all seinen ach so haargestylten Spin offs langsam zum Hals raus hängt.
Und grade das Stück zur Figur Gau kriegt mich jedesmal. Tapferer Junge, der von seinem Vater in der Wildnis ausgesetzt wurde und wie ein Tier leben musste. Böser Vater, der in jedem Menschen Handwerker sieht. Aber es sei ihm verziehen, wer sich sein Gequassel eine Weile anhört, versteht vielleicht seine Motivation.
Mr. Ed jumps the Gun - Wild Thang. Allen, die bis hierhin gelesen haben, fährt ein Lächeln ins Gesicht, das sagt: "Ach ja, diesen Song gab's ja auch mal". Ja, war cool damals, Wild Thing mit Rap-Einlage.

Charmed Theme. Ich habe mir vor langer Zeit mal ein Ei gelegt, als ich jemandem entgegnete, dass das Original ja eigentlich von Tatu ist. Ouch ;-) Aber das Tatu-Cover ist immer noch besser als der Charmed-Mist. Ich mag die beiden Mädels ja ganz gerne.
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven. Wayne's World, Gitarrengeschäft, Schild: NO Stairway to heaven. Hach, Mike Meyers, where's your spirit gone?
Del Shannon - Runaway. Less known fact: Das war der erste US No. 1-Hit mit Synthiebeteiligung. 1961! Btw. eines meiner Lieblingslieder, zu finden auf dem Sountrack Eis am Stiel 2 - Feste Freundin.

Hade med den en gång på gamla bloggen men den är tillräckligt bra för att vara med en gång till. Det är en sån låt som jag aldrig tröttnar på, speciellt inte den här versionen.

Är annars inne i ett grötstim och är rätt seg i kroppen. En del beror nog på vädret men sen är det nog en vanlig svacka som jag är inne i helt enkelt. Men jag tog lite kraft igår och hängde med en kompis till Jönköping för att handla. Han skulle leta efter en router och då ville jag passa på och kolla efter nya möbler till min balkong. Så jag medicinerade mig till ett hyfsat skick och tog den pärsen, man får göra så ibland även om det kommer surt efter.

Men nya balkongmöbler blev det men kompisen hittade ingen router, däremot en röjsåg som han slog till på. Sen fick han mina gamla överväxta balkongmöbler att ha ute vid sin stuga i skogen där han bor. Går alltid åt extrastolar om det är fest osv, och det var ju inget fel på dem, de var bara överväxta med mossa å annat grönt slem efter att ha stått ute på min balkong i ur och skur ett par år.

Så till mina nya möbler letar jag nu nåt smart överdrag eller liknande för jag har inte så bra ställen att förvara dem på under vintern. Kan iofs släpa ner dem i källaren men de får inte plats i förrådet och då finns alltid risken att nån helt enkelt plockar med dem. Vi har haft en hel del påhälsningar i källarutrymmena fast än så länge har de låtit bli förråden.

Oj, det blev en lång harang om balkongmöbler och annat. Idag har jag ägnat mig åt att återhämta mig men är rätt seg fortfarande, får se hur det känns i morgon.

Ever wondered whether your favorite WMP or iTunes will get better? Well, it just did. Enter Songbird!!!

Actually, Songbird has been around for awhile - even though still in alpha - it is quite robust and rarely crashes.

Well, whats so great about it. For starters, its open-source - just like Firefox - and is developed by those same geeks who gave you Winamp. Its platform-independent and supports umpteen file formats. So much for the credentials. Lets see what it can actually do.

The feel is more like iTunes and hence the Learning Curve for iPod freaks will actually be shorter - ya folks, it does support your iPod. Now, the best ever feature - the Search Engine. Songbird uses custom Google search algorithm to retrieve various media files from the internet. Its very good in avoiding broken links and providing you with multiple sources for the same song. Awesome isn't it!!!

Its not all. Like Firefox, Songbird supports tabbed browsing and - hold your breath - SKINS!!! Ya, unlike the sucker of the skins provided by Winamp, Songbird's "Feathers" are truly awesome and immensely likable.

Add to that, the regular features for any Music Player - library, playlists etc, Songbird beats all other players hands down.

So, astea sunt cele mai iubite 15 creatii de pe cel mai popular site de design web. Mie nu-mi prea plac, dar deh.. majoritatea. Sunt pe deviant chestii de mii de ori mai reusite si mai 'touching' si mai misto... :)

It's a classical piece. I guess I should take the rhythm as a hint. The tempo is pretty fast and it indicates sort of a drunken urge/rush. Vegas, here I come! :P
