I'm trying to write from w.bloggar right now. It quite simple and straight and it has a portable version too ^_^. We could even post to multiple blog at once.

Using this w.bloggar we could write our post offline and publish it next time we go online. I found about this w.bloggar from wordpress site and there are many more about blog client you could find in there.

It's all thanks to the simple guide from blog-well.com :D

After getting the ‘new software‘ bug I thought I’d give a few blogging tools a go.

After getting the 'new software' bug I thought I'd give a few blogging tools a go.

Scribefire

The first one I tried was Scribefire. This is a Firefox plugin so it's easy to add posts to your blog while surfing the web. Just select some text on the page you want to blog about, then click the icon that is added to the Firefox status bar or right click and choose 'Blog this Page' from the context menu.. When invoked, Scribefire splits the page you're on so you can refer to the original page while you blog away.

Scribefire supports all the major blogging platforms, such as WordPress (both WordPress.com and self hosted blogs), Moveable Type, Blogger etc., so no matter where you choose to blog you should be able to use it. It has a nice clean layout and it's simple to add your blogging accounts. I did a couple of test posts and it worked beautifully.

It has all the formatting tools you would expect and allows you to edit previous posts as well as add new ones. You can also edit pages, but I couldn't find a way to add new ones. Scribefire has a few other nifty features such as adding Technorati tags, a note taking facility and Del.icio.us integration.

Unfortunately Scribefire seems to lack one feature that I use: tags. It does have a tab in the editor labeled 'Tags', but these are what WordPress used to call tags, i.e. categories. To be fair, however, tags are a pretty new feature to WordPress so perhaps they'll be added to a later version of Scribefire. Surprisingly it doesn't have a couple of what I would consider basic features like 'More' text and the ability to edit a post's timestamp.

So, I paid Google a quick visit and came up with...

w.bloggar

w.bloggar is an offline tool so you don't need to be connected to the Internet to use it (except when you publish a post of course). Like Scribefire, w.bloggar is compatible with a long list of blogging platforms and makes it easy to add your accounts. It has a full complement of formatting tools and can edit previous posts (but not pages).

Being a full-blown program rather than a browser plugin, w.bloggar has useful features that Scribefire lacks: Search and Replace, importing text files, and publishing the same post to multiple blogs are the ones I've found in the short time I've been trying it out. It also lets you add 'More' text, edit the timestamp and it supports tags.

For the time being then, w.bloggar will be my blogging tool of choice. I know there are other blogging tools out there that I haven't tried (yet). If you use one of them, or indeed Scribefire or w.bloggar, let me know your opinions in the comments.

O Windows Live Writer faz a mesma coisa, e também me parece bastante bom. Tem a diferença - se para melhor ou para pior depende, já vi pessoas que gostam e outras que detestam - de ser WYSIWYG, ou What You See Is What You Get.

1. preencha o campo "endereço" sem o "www", ao contrário do que indica o exemplo do programa (o deste blogue é "ckoshikumo.wordpress.com");

2. no campo seguinte, "página", escreva APENAS "/xmlrpc.php". Senão, dá pau.

Lembrando que isso vale para o Wordpress; não sei quanto aos outros servidores.

Getting w.Bloggar to work with Blogger Beta

I signed up for Blogger Beta. Only to find out that none of my posting software works. I earlier used to use w.Bloggar, and had been using Windows Live Writer for the last few days. I downloaded w.Bloggar's latest version and tried setting it up with my new Blogger Beta blog. Behold the Beta Gods. It said my username/password didn't match. I realised it was not connecting to the beta interface, but rather to the old Blogger interface. And the old Blogger interface cannot login a Google Accounts username/password.
Being a lazy person, I searched the net first to see if someone else had come up with a solution. My search yielded no results. So I tried to play with the w.Bloggar account settings. Luckily, I got it right in the first attempt. Anyways, I decided to share this info with you all. So here is a step by step with screenshots (click on them to enlarge).
