<p>When AMG Decided that they werent quite pushing the standard mercedes lumps hard enough, they went one better and introduced a hardcore range of uber-mercs carrying the 'Black Series' legend...</p>
<p>So when the Black Series tag is introduced to the CLK what exactly does this comprise of? Well...let us enlighten you... For a start, this is the very same car used in the current season of F1...No, not Hamilton's MP4-23 McLaren Racer, but this is the official Road going version of the safety car used to shepherd the guys round the track when things get a bit 'lairy'...</p>
<p>Against the clock this CLK delivers, demolishing the 0-62mph sprint in just 4.3 seconds, while charging on to an limited 186mph, this time aided by 500bhp that AMG have squeezed out of the 6.2-litre V8. Let's face it, this is a sensational-looking beast with a performance to match! Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear fame very recently declared this as 'one of the best cars in the world'.</p>

<p>O DB7 Foi projetado para substituir o Aston Martin V8( de 20 anos de idade). Foi feito principalmente com recursos do Jaguar e teve o apoio financeiro da  Ford, proprietária da Aston Martin desde 1988. A plataforma DB7 é uma evolução da linha Jaguar XJS, entretanto  com muitas alterações.</p>

<p>Ele tem um refinado motor de seis cilindros em linha. turbinado com um supercharger Eaton. A aceleração é melhor descrita como rápida; o DB7 é pesado demais para ser veloz. Um forte chamariz é a sedutora carroceria. A mistura de painéis de aço e materiais compostos é exclusiva do Aston Martin DB7.</p>

<description><![CDATA[Hoy jueves tengo carrera de campeonato en Virtual Race, y mañana tengo otra carrera en el campeonat]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hoy jueves tengo carrera de campeonato en Virtual Race, y mañana tengo otra carrera en el campeonato DualMod en <a href="http://www.rf-argentina.com.ar/" target="_blank">rF-Argentina</a>.</p>
<p>El DualMod es un campeonato de 12 fechas, que tiene la particularidad de que se disputa con dos tipos de autos, muy diferentes entre sí por lo demás: en una carrera usamos los monoplazas de la <a href="http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=GP2%20Series" target="_blank">GP2 Series</a>, y a la carrera siguiente usamos los carrozados de la <a href="http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=V8%20Supercars" target="_blank">V8 Supercars</a>.</p>
<p>Haciendo un resumen de lo que llevamos de campeonato:</p>
<ul>
<li>Primera fecha con los GP2 en Indianapolis, un 18º lugar entre más de 30, aunque con auto para un top-10.</li>
<li>Segunda fecha con los V8SC en el Fuji Speedway, terminé quinto!!!!</li>
<li>Tercera fecha (GP2) en Montreal, abandono cuando venía noveno.</li>
<li>Cuarta fecha (V8SC) en Curitiba, terminé 17º</li>
<li>Quinta fecha (GP2) en el Hungaroring, ni siquiera corrí :D</li>
<li>Sexta fecha (V8SC) en Brno, descalificado por salir de pits con luz roja!! ¬¬!</li>
</ul>
<p>Este viernes 25 se viene la séptima fecha del campeonato, la que tiene carácter especial (una de las dos carreras especiales del campeonato). Carrera a 150 vueltas en el óvalo de Orchard Lake.</p>
<p>Afortunadamente tengo algo de experiencia en carreras en óvalos tras haber corrido las <a href="http://www.simracing.cl/index.php?topic=52.0">500 Millas de Indianápolis</a> en mayo de este año, asi que espero poder compensar la falta de entrenamientos con la experiencia jeje</p>

<p>A Chevrolet apresentou nesta segunda-feira (21) em Detroit, nos Estados Unidos, o Camaro 2010. Com seis marchas, o esportivo será montado na fábrica de Oshawa, no Canadá. Com direção hidráulica, ele roda cerca de 11 km/l e deve começar a ser comercializado no mercado americano no primeiro trimestre de 2009.</p>
<p>Disponível nas versões LS e LT, o modelo vem com motor seis cilindros de 3.6 litros e 304 cavalos de potência. Já a versão SS é equipada com motor V8 de 406 cavalos.</p>

<p>Para aumentar a segurança dos ocupantes, o carro vem com seis airbags de série e um sistema que detecta a presença de crianças e de adultos de pequena estatura, evitando o acionamento quando necessário.</p>

<p>So the dust has settled, or at least the mud has started falling off, from a really successful Scottish Perthshire Hillrally for the Friesian Racing team!</p>
<p>After a challenging weekend Henry and Joel brought MuddyMoo home a mere 6 seconds outside the top ten in eleventh overall and with a resounding first in class against some considerable Super Production competition - equalling our best ever Scottish finish.</p>

<p>Apart from the engine cutting out in the second stage which lost the team over a minute and a half, the car ran almost faultlessly!  Whilst there was always more than enough for our excellent service crew to attend to when MuddyMoo made her appearances in the service area, most of the issues were pretty minor.  This is testament to the thorough preparation that took place in advance of the event, even if it did all seem a bit last minute in the final weeks!</p>

<p>With so many major changes over the winter break; a completely new shock absorbing arrangement now using Milner Off Road's excellent Varidamps, a complete re-wire courtesy of our resident electrical/electronic wizard, Andrew, and a set of comfy and supportive new seats from Motordrive, we could have been forgiven a few teething problems.</p>
<p>Instead the wiring performed faultlessly from the moment the last few connections were made - and the Terratrip rally computer now seems to work reliably! (Even if we didn't use it much here - MuddyMoo pretty much knows her own way to the the stages, and Henry certainly does!).  Thanks Andrew an absolutely fantastic job.</p>
<p>I was concerned by the lack of any testing on the new suspension, but needn't have been.  The Milner Varidamps have been awesome out of the box allowing us to carry much more speed and take a lot less risks than before.  Andrew Lees has done a great job guesstimating our set up and getting it almost spot on.  There is some tuning to do, largely where I tried to pretend I knew better than the experts at Milner Off Road, but this just means that there is more speed to be found. </p>
<p>Thanks must also go to my dad for doing most of the welding and fabrication.  The suspension took a real beating at the weekend, but all that should be stuck remains firmly welded to the chassis.  Another excellent job!</p>

<p>Having broken Joel as well as the steering box in The Hillrally in 2006 it was a pleasant surprise that he was willing to have another go!  With Y Rali Bryn Cymru cancelled earlier in the year, Joel decided to take on the roughest one of the lot - the Scottish Perthshire.  Not only did Joel survive (you did didn't you?) but he also quickly adapted to the new set of skills required for co-driving on open moorland stages.  Much less about reading the map and more about giving advance notice of obstacles, corners and hills!  Joel's contribution to the event was absolutely critical to our success this weekend.</p>

<p>The Scottish Perthshire Hillrally is one of the toughest challenges of the year.  The stages are proper, arduous off-road terrain which taxes the cars and the crews to the utmost, but thanks to the quality Land Rover parts supplied by our main sponsors, Allmakes 4x4, we had virtually no trouble with the car throughout the event.</p>
<p>I must also pass on my thanks to my mother, Ronnie who tirelessly fed and watered the whole team, Lesley for her support and Daisy for keeping Andrew so well amused, Sue for putting up with not seeing Andrew for days on end whilst he was under the dashboard with the coloured spaghetti and the many other people who make up the extended Friesian Racing herd and who all contribute generously to getting us through the start line and to the end of the event.</p>

<div>It is essential to upgrade the brakes when fitting a Rover V8 engine into a TR7. Even the uprated brakes fitted to genuine TR8's leave something to be desired.</div>
<p>There are a number of routes of brake upgrading options available to you:</p>
<p>Rover SD1: The above photo shows this option. Genuine TR8 calipers are rare, but Rover SD1 calipers can be had. Original TR8 discs are readily available. You may have to add washers under the caliper housing bolts and trim a small amount of material off the backing plates. The outer pad is a very tight fit initially but otherwise the SD1 calipers appear to work fine, and unlike the TR8 calipers the steel wheels do not seem to foul on the calipers.</p>
<p>Volvo derived: This four piston, vented disc kit offers greater braking capacity but can be somewhat pricey. It is said that the 13" steel wheels can be reused thus the cost is considerably offset by not having to purchase new wheels and tyres.</p>
<p>Rover Vitesse derived: These kits also offers four piston, vented discs but requires a minimum of 14" diameter wheels/tyres.</p>

<p>Ford Maverick: um carro lançado em 69 nos EUA, como um desprentensioso esportivo "popular", projetado para combater a popularidade do Fusca, acabou por atingir seus maiores dias de glória no Brasil. Aqui o carro que combatia o Fusca era o Corcel. Só mesmo nos Estados Unidos, e na cabeça dos gerentes da Ford, podia surgir a idéia de que um carro de mais de uma tonelada, equipado com motor 6 cilindros, podia ser algum dia um carro "compact" para concorrer com o Fusca! O Maverick foi nosso grande "musclecar", junto com o Opala e o Dodge. O chassis é muito parecido, mecanicamente, com o Mustang, e herdou a plataforma do Falcon, aquele carro que foi muito popular na argentina. Quando Lee Iacocca, o genial gerente da Ford, criou o Mustang, partiu de uma plataforma do modelo mais popular e simples, do Falcon, e construiu um esportivo clássico que qualquer um podia comprar. Vendeu mais de 1 milhão em menos de um ano! O Maverick é, mecanicamente, muito parecido. No Brasil, entretanto, houve algumas peculiaridades em sua história. Para começar, foi lançado na versão de 6 e 8 cilindros. O 6 cilindros veio dos espólios da compra da Willys Overland, em 1970, que já havia falido nos Estados Unidos nos anos 60, e nada mais era que o motor Willys 2600 do jipe, aumentado para 3 litros. Este motor, de projeto extremamente antigo, tinha disposição em "F", com válvulas de admissão no cabeçote e válvulas de escape laterais, no bloco.  O desempenho era muito inferior ao do concorrente, o Opala, mas seu mérito era a robustez. Eu tive um Maverick 6 cilindros, e uma vez fiquei sem motor de arranque por uns dias, e conseguia ligar o motor "no tranco" até com a marcha a ré! Bastava um leve empurrãozinho, sem mais ninguém ajudando (era um carro de mais de 1200 kg), e pronto: o motor roncava bonito, sem afogador, até no inverno. Este Maverick é da mesma cor que o meu, só mudam os cromados, que este ainda tinha.<img class="alignright size-full wp-image-115" style="margin:10px;" src="http://gustavodantas.wordpress.com/files/2008/07/maverickverde.jpg" alt="" width="369" height="232" /></p>
<p>Bom, tenho que admitir, este é meu carro preferido, ao menos dentre os carros nacionais. Estável, com suspensões de curso longo, mas rígida, perfeita para voar por cima de quebra-molas e buracos comuns nas nossas ruas. Poucos carros são tão divertidos. E se o 6 cilindros náo era lá muito rápido, ao menos tinha um ronco bonito. Meu carro tinha todas as peças cromadas pintadas de preto fosco, até a antena. Não passava numa blitz sem ser parado, mas também era só dar seta que todo mundo se afastava, as ruas se abriam como o Mar Morto diante de Moisés. Um grande carro. Espero ter outro em breve, apesar dos preços extorsivos deste carro hoje em dia.</p>

VBrick will provide the encoding hardware that will interoperate with InfoCaster to deliver live video streams on a digital signage network. VBrick also announced its <a href="http://www.vbrick.com/products/appliance/" target="_blank">H264 Appliance</a> that will allow for High Definition streaming using their technology.</p>
<p><strong>GefenTV Ethernet</strong></p>
<p>Gefen was demonstrating two Ethernet extenders: the GefenTV Ethernet over Power Line and the GefenTV Ethernet over Coax Extenders. The technology delivers a plug and play method of Ethernet delivery using the existing cabling infrastructure. Both systems use small sender and receiver units where receivers are equipped with four Ethernet 10/100M ports to accommodate multiple connections, each capable of supporting up to a 200Mbps transmission for instant data delivery.</p>

We looked at their <a href="http://www.edirol.com/index.php?option=com_content&#38;task=view&#38;id=327&#38;Itemid=386">V8 switcher</a> for standard definition and their <a href="http://www.edirol.com/index.php?option=com_content&#38;task=view&#38;id=33&#38;Itemid=386" target="_blank">V-440HD</a> that has the capability to input 4 SD video sources and 4 HD or RGB video sources. They also have a small <a href="http://www.edirol.com/index.php?option=com_content&#38;task=view&#38;id=202&#38;Itemid=386" target="_blank">V-44SW switcher</a> that is a rack mount HD switcher similar to the V-440HD. We also took a look at the <a href="http://www.edirol.com/index.php?option=com_content&#38;task=view&#38;id=222&#38;Itemid=424" target="_blank">VC-300HD video converter</a> that does format conversion of Digital/Analog, HD/SD or compressed/uncompressed signals as well as direct connections from computer RGB sources.</p>
<p><strong>Vaddio HD Production Switcher</strong></p>

It integrates PTZ camera control and multi-format HD/SD live switching with real-time graphics and effects into one console. The surface gives system users real-time knobs and buttons to control functions and produces only one frame of delay — a critical requirement for broadcast.</p>
<p>The unit features six inputs of any combination of component HD, RGBHV or SD Video, focus and iris knobs on control surface for making manual adjustments, six discrete auto-sensing RS-232 camera control ports, lower Screen Graphics Over-lay mode, selectable cut, fade and wipe transitions, 3-axis hall effect joystick, adjustable pan, tilt and zoom speed knobs, 12 camera presets, transition speed adjustment and it is compatible with Vaddio, Sony and Canon PTZ Camera Systems.</p>
<p><strong>TrackVIEW System</strong></p>
<p>Another great product Vaddio is showing is a product they call the <a href="http://www.vaddio.com/press_releases/pr_trackview_nextgeneration.pdf" target="_blank">TrackVIEW System</a> Next Generation. It’s used where hands-free camera tracking and broadcast style preset camera control are required. The system is not well described on their website but it has the capability to follow the activity of a classroom situation through camera presets based on floorpads, following the teacher around a classroom using image recognition and switching to students asking questions at desks by sensing the closest microphone to the student speaking. Ifound a video of the system in action on YouTube that shows the basics. It's lacking the features that have been added to the system for interaction with students at the desks;</p>

The GPS unit comes with maps of Western Europe, which was great for my recent trips to Italy and Spain. Using the Tomtom home application it's easy to download map corrections and software updates, which brings me to the reason for this article. After several minor updates to the version 7 software the Go 720 came with, the latest update has installed version 8.010.<!--more--></p>
<p>There aren't a huge amount of changes in the new version, and cosmetically there's been little more than a polish. The strong black shadows of V7 have been toned down and a few icons are replaced but that's about it.</p>

I guessed V8 maps would be required so had a look at map updates for the latest Go 730, which shows version 8.05 maps in the store. The latest maps available to buy for the Go 720 are version 7.20. Does this mean I have a feature on my GPS that I can't use? This brings me to my biggest complaint.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">When you buy a Tomtom GPS unit you get a 30 day Latest Map Guarantee. This means if the maps are updated within 30 days of registering the unit, you get a free update. If you're out of these 30 days, you have to pay. To update my version 715 maps to version 720 will cost me £50. Why do Tomtom not give one year of free updates with the unit? This seems like just another method of extracting as much cash as possible from customers.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">The Go 720 came with a code to enter for the Latest Map Guarantee and a free safety camera update. When I entered the code into Tomtom home the software said it wasn't eligible, so I never got the updates. Maybe Tomtom need to start concentrating on giving their customers a good service rather than milking it for all it's worth.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ha un nome sciocco. Questo è l’unico difetto che Jeremy Clarkson trova alla conturbante 430 Scuderia. Si apre infatti con la prova dell’ultima belva di Maranello l’undicesima stagione del divertente programma della BBC dedicato ai motori. Il caro J.C. ne è semplicemente incantato; secondo il celebre giornalista inglese, la Scuderia è un mezzo progettato semplicemente con uno scopo: essere veloce in modo sorprendente.</p>
<p>Tutto quello che ruota intorno alla meccanica e alla sua aerodinamica è concepito espressamente per soddisfare questo requisito. Le cambiate sono più veloci di un battito di ciglia e l’ineguagliabile studio aerodinamico Ferrari ribadisce la magnificenza del downforce generabile ancora una volta. Come dire, più vai veloce, più l’auto si schiaccia felicemente a terra garantendo un grip enorme.</p>
<p>Secondo Clarkson la Scuderia è la sintesi perfetta di come ogni Ferrari dovrebbe essere; il suo motore, il suo cambio e il suo eccitante suono lasciano comunque spazio ad un carattere da tigre inferocita: perfetta nelle mani giuste ma pronta a mordere quando, staccata tutta la massiccia elettronica, il pilota sbaglia. Alla fine della prova Jeremy può solamente affermare di non avere le parole per descrivere quanto questa Ferrari lo rende felice. Il test si chiude con il classico giro in pista effettuato dal mitico Stig che stacca un tempo eccezionale sul test track di Top Gear ma che comunque non riesce ad eguagliare il tempo fatto registrare con la Enzo. Anche se sul circuito Ferrari la Scuderia ha fatto registrare tempi inferiori persino alla leggendaria V12 da 660cv.</p>

Galingasis limuzinas buvo aprūpintas V8 tipo, 4.2 tūrio benzininiu agregatu, išvystančiu 340 arklių ir sukančiu visus keturis ratus (quattro). Komplektacijoje buvo pasiūlyta 5 pavarų automatinė arba šešių pavarų mechaninė transmisija.</p>
<p>2001 metais Audi modelį šiek tiek atnaujino - S8 galėjo pasigirti net 360 arklių (430 Nm/3400 rpm) varikliu. Automobilis "avėjo" 18 colių ratlankius. Nuo standartinio Audi A8 modelio, S8 išoriškai skyrėsi chromuotais veidrodėliais, dideliais ratlankiais, dvigubu išmetimo vamzdžiu, pakitusio dizaino priekinėmis grotelėmis bei ženkliuku "S8". Viduje - sportinės šildomos odinės sėdynės, elektra valdomos galinės sėdynės, telefonas, kritulių jutiklis, navigacija su TV funkcija, elektra reguliuojama vairo padėtis, xenon žibintai, "Bose" garso sistema, fotochrominis priekinis stiklas, stoglangis su saulės baterija ir pan.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Apparently that Guitar Hero game is awesome. I know I'm a little late off the bat, there's like, what... 4 versions out now?</p>
<p>I've never played Guitar Hero. I don't even have an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 to play one on, and I don't plan on ever getting one. Yet, from what I've heard, Guitar Hero is the bomb.</p>
<p>To me it seems kind of a joke if I was to play the game. Because I can play the real guitar, and I can play the songs that are featured in the game. How could pressing a bunch of random buttons in time with the music compare to actually playing it?</p>
<p>"Yeah, but there's this thing you can move and makes it sound like a whammy bar!"</p>
<p>"OK... but my real guitar has a whammy bar."</p>
<p>"But... this is different! This is awesome!"</p>
<p>I predict it would be somewhat like the difference between driving a racing car and playing a racing car game. Both are fun, but driving a V8 up a main straight in real life, is <em>much</em> more exciting. I know because I've done it! You can't beat the rush of the real thing!</p>
<p>I think that episode of South Park summed it up best. The boys are gathered around playing Guitar Hero when the Dad walks in and shows them how he can play the real thing. The boys tell him to GET LOST because playing the real guitar is NOT cool!</p>

Maybe I'm getting a little sick of trying to figure out what's right and wrong and the feeling of being told what to do by <em>myself</em> and the government's incessant desire to control our lives. We're all dying, so what's the point of dwelling on it? Especially if you don't believe in heaven and hell!</p>
