Caso você se interesse pelo giallo (e espero que os filmes do gênero que comentamos aqui, aqui, aqui e aqui tenham contribuído para isso), e começe procurando a filmografia do Mario Bava, provávelmente não encontrará esse filme. Explica-se: na verdade existem não uma, muito menos duas, mas TRÊS versões desse filme. Isso porquê, em virtude de uma série de contratempos (ator principal adoecendo, cronogramas apertadíssimos, o finaciador do filme falecendo, briga entre a esposa de Bava e a produtora), Bava não consegui terminar o filme (faltando apenas alguns takes), além das partes filmadas serem arquivadas em virtude do processo judicial. Os rolos de filme só viram a luz do sol nos anos 90, quando a atriz principal do filme, Lea Lender, conseguiu os direitos sobre o filme. A partir daí, foi feita a primeira versão (que não chegou a ser disponibilizada para o público), com o filho do homem na montagem e na direção das cenas restantes (incluindo o take inicial, de uam mulher chorando), beseando-se no workprint do Bava pai. Na virada do século o filme foi adquirido por Alfred Leone, que foi produtor de Bava e está providenciando o relançamento da obra completa dele em DVD. Achando a obra inadequada para os dias de hoje, ele providenciou a segunda versão, com 20 minutos de novas cenas além de uma trilha sonora totalmente nova (esta com o nome já de Kidnapped, que você encontra na filmografia linkada no início do post). Por fim, na virada do século, veio a terceira versão, a "versão do diretor", sendo quase uma cópia xerox da primeira, apenas com créditos diferentes (solarizados em verde e vermelho) e sem o take inicial.

Depois de resumida a história dessa "obra quase perdida", vamos ao que interessa: o filme (mais precisamente a versão do diretor). Apesar de não ser um giallo, possui alguns elementos vindos dele (para destacar um principal, as luvas). E ele é muito bom, apesar de algumas ressalvas. Passados os dispensáveis primeiros 15 minutos (onde temos uma infinidade de clichês e maneirismos da época, tornando-se datadas, e quase nenhuma tensão provocada), temos um meio absolutamente fantástico e um final que, se não chega a ser um desastre, faz com que o filme perca um pouco o seu brilho. A grande qualidade dele é a sensação claustrofóbica que Bava consegue a partir do sequestro, com os personagens se espremendo num carro durante a maior parte do filme. Os assaltantes/sequestradores do filme são, no linguagar popular, uns “três filhos da puta como poucas vezes o cinema viu”, não perdendo nenhuma oportunidade de enervar e traumatizar as suas vítimas, fazendo um violento jogo de gato e rato psicológico. A câmera de Bava é realística, e confabula com esse clima claustrofóbico, causando uma experiência brutal para o telespectador.

O filme vai crescendo em suspense até ficarmos angustiados para saber que final terá aquele pesadelo, e na conclusão o que temos é uma supresa que, na minha opinião, apesar de parecer chocante a princípio, parte para uma saída unm tanto quanto amenizadora. Sim, porque, caso Bava tivesse parado o filme um minuto antes, teríamos uma explosão final de sentimentos muito mais impactante e, por que não dizer, redentora. Quase como o que é provocado em Sob o Domínio do Medo, quando o ator principal executa aquele ato. Me pareceu até uma saída um pouco mais cômoda, como se Bava quisesse justificar áquele ato, ou ainda uam tentativa de evocar o tão famigerado "trust no one". Seja qual for a intenção do diretor, poderia ter resultados melhores.

Enfim, resumindo a minha primeira experiência com o cinema de Bava: Rabid Dogs tinha como matéria-prima um diamante bruto da mais alta qualidade, mas, ao lapidá-lo, surgiram algumas imperfeições na obra. Ainda assim, consegue ser interessantíssimo, tenso em quase a sua totalidade e alcançar um bom nível de qualidade, ainda que os deslizes ditos acima o impeçam de alcançar a nota máxima.

(PERTH, Australia) — Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Pakistan needs to do more to prevent Taliban militants from launching attacks into Afghanistan from its territory.
Speaking Friday in Australia, Rice suggested to reporters that a surge in Taliban-related violence in Afghanistan had its source in the restive semiautonomous tribal areas along Pakistan's border with Afghanistan.

"We understand that it's difficult, we understand that the northwest frontier area is difficult, but militants cannot be allowed to organize there and to plan there and to engage across the border," Rice said. "So yes, more needs to be done."

The strong message to Islamabad comes just a few days before Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is scheduled to meet with President Bush at the White House.

Sería absurdo que no nos hagamos eco de noticias sobre el mundo de las consolas (algo que no hacemos habitualmente, tambien es cierto), sobre todo por el intercambio de ideas que estan habiendo entre el cine y el videojuego, y a la inversa. 

Hoy vamos a ver el trailer de uno de los juegos más esperados para el año que viene. "Resident Evil 5". En la cuarta entrega hubo un giro en la saga, para unos a mejor (como es mi caso) y para otros no, los cuales opinarán que se ha vuelto demasiado "mata-mata". A mí no me gustaba andar abriendo y cerrando puertas sin parar. Viendo como escaseaba constantemente mi munición y buscando una pieza para abrir una puerta que a su vez había que... (en Resident Evil 4 hay algún "acertijo", pero no es la norma). En fin, que prefiero como esta siendo la saga en la actualidad, aunque respeto totalmente a los que llevan años jugando a Resident y se sientan algo ofendidos por perder lo que se podría denominar "su identidad". 

En esta ocasión "Resident Evil 5" se desarrollará en el continente africano. Donde de nuevo el virus que tantos problemas ha dado a Chris Reinfield (protagonista de algunas entregas de la saga) cambiará a la gente y a los animales, enloqueciéndolos totalmente.

En el  2004 debutó en las pantallas de todo el mundo con una manera verdaderamente novedosa de afrontar el género de terror la primera entrega de esta serie, 'Saw' convirtiendose en un film sumamente macabro. Precísamente, con 'Saw 5' se podrán ver diversas facetas previas del protagonista de la saga. En una cinta que mezclará miradas hacia atrás en el tiempo con la sangrienta y desenfrenada acción que lo caracteriza, tal y como lo hemos visto a lo largo de la serie Jigsaw, este personaje tan imponente, capaz de realizar los planes más increibles, sigue dando de la suya.

Aqui les dejo un pequeño recuerdo de esta serie....

El actor Tobin Bell estará nuevamente al frente del reparto principal. Además afirmó a diversos medios, que en las dos próximas entregas ('Saw 5' y 'Saw 6') se utilizará el recurso antes mencionado de retroceder en el tiempo para explicar el significado de numerosos elementos de la saga, casi fetiches para los aficionados. Como son la siniestra marioneta de grandes ojos o el triciclo que aparece en las anteriores películas de la saga.

Saw V no será dirigida por Darren Lynn Bousmann, como los anteriores 3 filmes, sino que estará a cargo del director David Hackl quien precisamente fue el productor de los fimes anteriores.

Por lo que parece tenemos garantizada la sangrienta acción de la saga 'Saw' por varios años más. Hay planes de poner fin a la misma tras la sexta entrega (a estrenar en 2009), aunque a tan largo plazo todo puede cambiar bastante.

Yo soy parte de ese pequeño grupo de personas que jamás ha visto una de las cintas de la saga Saw, probablemente porque justo cuando apareció la primera parte en Chile, también apareció el primer capítulo de Hostel y yo me quedé con esta última, que parecía ofrecer una historia más interesante. Como no he visto ni siquiera la primera entrega de Saw, no sé si me equivoqué o no, por lo menos Hostel me entretuvo y Hostel: Part II se fue directo a la basura. En fin, la franquicia de terror más explotada en esta primera década del siglo tiene una quinta parte y vuelve de la mano del novato director David Hackl, quien estuvo involucrado en el equipo de producción de Saw II, Saw III y Saw IV, además de las próximas a estrenarse Outlander y Repo! The Genetic Opera. Saw V lo tendrá por primera vez en la silla del director, a cargo de un grupo de actores clase B y C, liderados por Tobin Bell como Jigsaw (John Kramer), Julie Benz, Meagan Good, Shawnee Smith, Scott Patterson, Costas Mandylor y Betsy Russell. Por mi parte presagio un bodrio... pero hay que darle tiempo y ver que opinan los fans, ya que seguramente yo, no la voy a ver. El teaser trailer y el afiche a continuación.

Look at what it could have achieved. It is possible that an intelligent police using closed circuit cameras in key places could have averted the Bangalore blasts. If such cameras existed in the major Indian cities, and perhaps other sensitive ones, we could find patterns that smart policing can analyse to stop terror in its tracks. Some may argue that the most-watched of cities, London, experienced blasts. It can also be argued, however, that London busted all bomb squads subsequently, arguably helped by close monitoring.

The moral of the story is that Indians are not helping themselves. Their leaders and police brass are not helping the citizens, although they themselves are well-protected. It is time we put our major cities under CCTV camera surveillance, to bring some order to our public places, although constant surveillance means a loss of privacy and an advantage for Big Brother.

But let's face the truth. What is the state of the citizen today, without the cameras? Our muscular police is waiting for the slightest pretext to trample free speech and impose all manner of curbs. Often, there is no burden of evidence on them to explain their actions. It will actually help law-abiding citizens when camera evidence is available, which can be demanded in court. That will take the pressure off the good people, and produce sufficient evidence about illegal activity. Of course, that means a disadvantage to crooks in uniform.

In the case of Bangalore, it would be possible to pin-point the individuals who are seen in camera footage, at the points closest to the blast sites. Cars can be identified, and individuals screened in slow motion. Rather than crude sketches drawn by a police artist, there will be genuine footage of real people and perhaps the culprits available.

Cameras will also deter a lot of crime, because criminals know they have no chance of escape, and their masters are at risk of being caught in turn.

There is not much expense involved, given that safer cities are good cities: for people, and for commerce. It helps the economy. Let's hope the State Government helps Bangalore live up to its name of an "intelligent" city in the area of evidence-gathering also. The answer is not to enact some draconian law that will put innoncent, helpless, profiled people behind bars to be tortured, while the perpetrators of violence are able to wriggle out to strike elsewhere.

As the United States election race enters the final stretch, Barack Obama as the candidate promising change is revealing his true colors, much to the despair of anyone actually expecting any change. His recent call to declare Jerusalem the undivided capital of Israel, his denial of Palestinians’’ right of return, and his support for a Bantustan Palestinian “state” which poses no threat to Israel show how completely he has caved in to the Zionist establishment on that issue.

As President George W Bush calls for early reductions in combat troops in Iraq, Obama’s position on Iraq — a vow to bring troops home within 16 months, excepting a “residual force” — looks less and less of a defining moment in his foreign policy. Whatever happens to troop levels, there is no explicit talk of overriding the plans for 14 permanent bases.

Obama is toeing the line in Afghanistan, too. As NATO casualties continue to mount, surpassing monthly Iraqi casualties as of June this year, he is proposing — now seconded by McCain — that the United States shift up to 15,000 more troops there from Iraq. Just prior to his trip to Afghanistan, he wrote in a New York Times op-ed, “We need more troops, more helicopters, better intelligence-gathering and more nonmilitary assistance to accomplish the mission there.” Please, will someone show me the silver lining in an Obama victory in November?

But then none of the above should come as any surprise to those familiar with his chief promoter and foreign policy adviser, Zbigniew Brzezinski, who, along with current (and likely future) Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, has already entered history as helping “suck the Soviets into a Vietnamese quagmire.” These are the words of President Jimmy Carter’s Under-Secretary of Defense Walter Slocumbe in March 1979, eight months before the Soviets were successfully “sucked in,” when Gates was CIA chief. The changing of the guard, come November, will change nothing. US foreign policy has a logic which transcends who sleeps in the White House.

What’s especially ghoulish about all this is that there are five Brzezinski offspring who are all onboard the Obama wagon: Mark (director of Russian and Eurasian Affairs at the National Security Council under President Bill Clinton, and one of the prime movers of the 2004 color revolution in Ukraine), Ian (currently the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and NATO affairs and a backer of Kosovan independence, NATO expansion into Ukraine and Georgia and US ABM missiles in Poland), Mika (political commentator on MSNBC whose interview with Michele Obama contributed to the general media Obamamania) and finally, Matthew (a friend of Ilyas Akhmadov, “foreign minister” and US envoy of the Chechen opposition).

Brzezinski’s brand of anti-Russian, anti-Muslim geopolitics will dominate a future Obama administration. In Second Chance: Three Presidents and the Crisis of American Superpower, published last year, he lays out his New World Order agenda without so much as a blush. Apparently, there is a global political awakening going on, the goal of which is “dignity”. Not economic development, not the alleviation of poverty, not national sovereignty against the IMF and World Bank. Just plain old dignity, though Zbig’s brand of dignity is the kind attained through secession, balkanization, and the creation of weak statelets for each ethnic minority subservient to the US. Think: Kosovo and — if he has his way — Chechenia. Neo-Wilsonian demagogy in the service not of peace but of US world domination, encirclement of Russia and control of the Arab world.

Zbig said in endorsing Obama: “What makes Obama attractive to me is that he understands that we live in a very different world where we have to relate to a variety of cultures and peoples.” Obama’s alleged global approach and trans-ethnic, trans-racial allure are right out of Zbig’s university textbook, or rather Second Chance, which will be the manual for the Obama campaign and presidency.

Obama is literally a second chance for Brzezinski: having destroyed the Soviet Union and shattered the Warsaw Pact, he now wants to dismember the Russian Federation itself and put the finishing touches on Afghanistan as an impregnable US military base against China, Russia… the list is endless. Perhaps Zbig is dreaming of restoring Greater Poland circa 1600 — from the Black Sea to the Baltic, all controlled by petty szlachta aristocrats like . . . the Brzezinskis?

The Economist blog put it best: “A new brain for Barack Obama! It’s 78 years old and it still works perfectly. It belongs to Zbigniew Brzezinski, the peppery ex-national security adviser to Jimmy Carter.”

The messianic idealism of the Obama campaign has not been seen since the days of another Brzezinski creation — Jimmy Carter, who made him national security adviser with disastrous results. Brzezinski’s anti-Russian obsession back in 1976 prompted him to foment the rise of Islamic fundamentalism, which he touted as the greatest single bulwark against Soviet communism. Tarpley argues that Brzezinski was even a prime behind-the-scenes mover in the overthrow of the Shah of Iran and installing Ayatollah Khomeini in power in Tehran. Brzezinski cared less about the Middle East and its oil than he did about the need for a centre from which Islamic fundamentalism of the most retrograde type could penetrate the soft southern underbelly of the USSR. For Brzezinski, the space between the southern frontier of the Soviet and the Indian Ocean littoral became an “arc of crisis”, and we have his handiwork to thank for the horrors taking place there to this day.

The 1980 Carter Doctrine — that the US was determined to dominate the Persian Gulf — is at the root of the first Gulf War, of the present Iraq war, and of the possible war on Iran. Brzezinski’s grandiose schemes of world transformation caused a renewal of the Cold War and gave birth to Al-Qaeda, and without Soviet restraint the results could easily have been far more tragic than they turned out to be. By 1980, disillusionment with Carter led to the nightmare of the Reagan regime. But this was of little concern to Brzezinski — a mere blip on his radar screen.

In 2008, we have an obscure Illinois senator, a neophyte with no legislative achievements to speak of, but with a raft of utopian promises, including solving the race problem once and for all. Recession, unemployment and an alarming rise in poverty are of no consequence; a golden age is at hand thanks to his magnetic personality. Since he knows nothing of foreign policy, these matters will be competently managed by the Brzezinski cabal.

But there seems to be one slight hitch. Despite Obama’s slavish pro-Israeli genuflections of late, he is still not trusted by the Jewish lobby. Quite possibly because they know who the power behind the throne-to-be is, and they can’t stomach him, nor he them. Addressing the AIPAC crew in an interview with The Daily Telegraph, he said, “They operate not by arguing but by slandering, vilifying, demonizing. They very promptly wheel out anti-Semitism. There is an element of paranoia in this inclination to view any serious attempt at a compromised peace as somehow directed against Israel.”

But then Brzezinski was a key player in Carter’s 1978 Camp David Accords, much loathed by the Zionists as giving up Sinai in exchange for a cold peace with Egypt. Brzezinski is definitely not a hardcore Zionist, though he’s happy to allow the destruction of Palestine. Perhaps he is, under his suave exterior, still the quintessential Polish anti-Semite, with a vision of the New World Order without Israel at the centre.

If he can keep up the momentum, however, he may be able to outflank the Zionists in Washington and bringing his horse first past the finish line. They are on the defensive these days, what with spy trials, even J Street Project, a Jewish lobby group that — gasp — dares to criticize Israel. Is this, then, the silver lining in an Obama victory?

I had given up on finding an American with a moral conscience and the courage to go with it and was on the verge of retiring my keyboard when I met the Rev. Thomas L. Are.

Rev. Are is a Presbyterian pastor who used to tell his Atlanta, Georgia, congregation: "I am a Zionist." Like most Americans, Rev. Are had been seduced by Israeli propaganda and helped to spread the propaganda among his congregation.

Around 1990 Rev. Are had an awakening for which he credits the Christian Canon of St. George's Cathedral in Jerusalem and author Marc Ellis, co-editor of the book, Beyond Occupation.

Realizing that his ignorance of the situation on the ground had made him complicit in great crimes, Rev. Are wrote a book hoping to save others from his mistake and perhaps in part to make amends, Israeli Peace/Palestinian Justice, published in Canada in 1994.

Rev. Are researched his subject and wrote a brave book. Keep in mind that 1994 was long prior to Walt and Mearsheimer's recent book, which exposed the power of the Israel Lobby and its ability to control the explanation Americans receive about the "Israeli-Palestinian conflict."

Rev. Are begins with an account of Israel's opening attack on the Palestinians, an event which took place before most Americans alive today were born. He quotes the distinguished British historian, Arnold J. Toynbee: "The treatment of the Palestinian Arabs in 1947 (and 1948) was as morally indefensible as the slaughter of six million Jews by the Nazis. Though nor comparable in quantity to the crimes of the Nazis, it was comparable in quality."

Golda Meir, considered by Israelis as a great leader and by others as one of history's great killers, disputed the facts: "It was not as though there was a Palestinian people in Palestine and we came and threw them out and took their country away from them. They did not exist."

Golda Meir's apology for Israel's great crimes is so counter-factual that it blows the mind. Palestinian refugee camps still exist outside Palestine filled with Palestinians and their descendants whose towns, villages, homes and lands were seized by the Israelis in 1948. Rev. Are provides the reader with Na'im Ateek's description of what happened to him, an 11-year old, when the Jews came to take Beisan on May 12, 1948. Entire Palestinian communities simply disappeared.

In 1949 the United Nations counted 711,000 Palestinian refugees.

In 2005 the United Nations Relief and Works Agency estimated 4.25 million Palestinians and their descendants were refugees from their homeland.

The Israeli policy of evicting non-Jews has continued for six decades. On June 19, 2008, the Laity Committee in the Holy Land reported in Window Into Palestine that the Israeli Ministry of Interior is taking away the residency rights of Jerusalem Christians who have been reclassified as "visitors in their own city."

On December 10, 2007, MK Ephraim Sneh boasted in the Jerusalem Post that Israel had achieved "a true Zionist victory" over the UN partition plan "which sought to establish two nations in the land of Israel." The partition plan had assigned Israel 56 percent of Palestine, leaving the inhabitants with only 44 percent. But Israel had altered this over time. Sneh proudly declared: "When we complete the permanent agreement, we will hold 78 percent of the land while the Palestinians will control 22 percent."

Sneb could have added that the 22 percent is essentially a collection of unconnected ghettos cut off from one another and from roads, water, medical care, and jobs.

Rev. Are documents that the abuse of Palestinians' human rights is official Israeli policy. Killings, torture, and beatings are routine. On May 17, 1990, the Washington Post reported that Save the Children "documented indiscriminate beating, tear-gassing and shooting of children at home or just outside the house playing in the street, who were sitting in the classroom or going to the store for groceries."

On January 19, 1988, Israeli Defense Minister Yitzhak Rabin, later Prime Minister, announced the policy of "punitive beating" of Palestinians. The Israelis described the purpose of punitive beating: "Our task is to recreate a barrier and once again put the fear of death into the Arabs of the area."

According to Save the Children, beatings of children and women are common. Rev. Are, citing the report in the Washington Post, writes: "Save the Children concluded that one-third of beaten children were under ten years old, and one-fifth under the age of five. Nearly a third of the children beaten suffered broken bones."

On February 8, 1988, Newsweek magazine quoted an Israeli soldier: "We got orders to knock on every door, enter and take out all the males. The younger ones we lined up with their faces against the wall, and soldiers beat them with billy clubs. This was no private initiative, these were orders from our company commander.... After one soldier finished beating a detainee, another soldier called him 'you Nazi,' and the first man shot back: 'You bleeding heart.' When one soldier tried to stop another from beating an Arab for no reason, a fist fight broke out."

These were the old days before conscience was eliminated from the ranks of the Israeli military.

In the London Sunday Times, June 19, 1977, Ralph Schoenman, executive director of the Bertrand Russell Foundation, wrote: "Israeli interrogators routinely ill-treat and torture Arab prisoners. Prisoners are hooded or blindfolded and are hung by their wrists for long periods. Most are struck in the genitals or in other ways sexually abused. Most are sexually assaulted. Others are administered electric shock."

Amnesty International concluded that "there is no country in the world in which the use of official and sustained torture is as well established and documented as in the case of Israel."

Even the pro-Israeli Washington Post reported: "Upon arrest, a detainee undergoes a period of starvation, deprivation of sleep by organized methods and prolonged periods during which the prisoner is made to stand with his hands cuffed and raised, a filthy sack covering the head. Prisoners are dragged on the ground, beaten with objects, kicked, stripped and placed under ice-cold showers."

Sounds like Abu Gharib. There are news reports that Israeli torture experts participated in the torture of the detainees assembled by the American military as part of the Bush Regime's propaganda onslaught to convince Americans that Iraq was overflowing with al-Qaeda terrorists. On July 23, 2008, Antiwar.com posted an Iraqi news report that the Iraqi government had released a total of 109,087 Iraqis that the Americans had "detained." Obviously, these "terrorist detainees" had been used for the needs of Bush Regime propaganda. No one will ever know how many of them were abused by Israeli torturers imported by the CIA.

Rev. Are's book makes sensible suggestions for resolving the conflict that Israel began. However, the problem is that Israeli governments believe only in force. The policy of the Israeli government has always been to beat, kill, and brutalize Palestinians into submission and flight. Anyone who doubts this can read the book of Israel's finest historian Ilan Pappe, The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine (2006).

Americans are a gullible and naive people. They have been complicit for 60 years in crimes that in Arnold Toynbee's words "are comparable in quality" to the crimes of Nazi Germany. As Toynbee was writing decades ago, the accumulated Israeli crimes might now be comparable also in quantity.

The US routinely vetoes United Nations condemnations of Israel for its brutal crimes against the Palestinians. Insouciant American taxpayers have been bled for a half century to provide the Israelis with superior military weapons with which Israelis assault their neighbors, all the while convincing America – essentially a captive nation – that Israel is the victim.

John F. Mahoney wrote: "Thomas Are reminds me of Dietrich Bonhoeffer: an active pastor who comes to the unsettling realization that he and his people have been fed a terrible lie that is killing and torturing thousands of innocent men, women and children. Not without ample research and prayer does such a pastor, in turn, risk unsettling his congregation. The Reverend Are has done his homework and, I suspect, has prayed often and long during the writing of this courageous book."

Bonhoeffer was a Lutheran theologian and pastor who was executed for his active participation in the German Resistance against Nazism.

Professor Benjamin M. Weir, San Francisco Theological Seminary, wrote: "This book will make the reader squirm. It asks you to lend your voice in behalf of the voiceless."

Americans who can no longer think for themselves and who are terrified of disapproval by their peer group are incapable of lending their voices to anyone except those who control the world of propaganda in which they live.

The ignorance and unconcern of Americans is a great frustration to my friends in the Israeli peace movement. Without outside support those Israelis who believe in good will are deprived, by America's support for their government's policy of violence, of any peaceful resolution of a conflict began in 1947 by Israeli aggression against unsuspecting Palestinian villages.

Rev. Are wrote his book with the hope that the pen is mightier than the sword and that facts can crowd out propaganda and create a framework for a just resolution of the Palestinian issue. In his concluding chapter, "What Christians Can Do," Rev. Are writes: "We cannot allow others to dictate our thinking on any subject, especially on anything as important as Christian faithfulness, which is tested by an attitude towards seeking justice for the oppressed. It's a Christian's duty to know."

Duty, of course, has costs. Rev. Are writes: "Speak up for the Palestinians and you will make enemies. Yet, as Christians, we must be willing to raise issues that until now we have chosen to dodge."

More than a decade later, President Jimmy Carter, a true friend of Israel, tried again to awaken Americans' moral conscience with his book, Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid. Carter was instantly demonized by the Israel Lobby.

Sixty years of efforts by good and humane people to hold Israel accountable have so far failed, but they are more important today than ever before. Israel has its captive American nation on the verge of attacking Iran, the consequences of which could be catastrophic for all concerned. The alleged purpose of the attack is to eliminate nonexistent Iranian nuclear weapons. The real reason is to eliminate all support for Hamas and Hezbollah so that Israel can seize the entire West Bank and southern Lebanon. The Bush regime is eager to do Israel's bidding, and the media and evangelical "Christian" churches have been preparing the American people for the event.

It is paradoxical that Israel is demonstrating that veracity lies not in the Christian belief in good will but in Lenin's doctrine that violence is the effective force in history and that the evangelical Christian Zionist churches agree.

Hasta el momento, se mantienen buscando a algunos creadores que les den ideas para guionizar el desarrollo de una nueva película... o algo más.

Las compañias no buscan hacer un remake de episodios antiguos o de la película de hace 25 años. Su intención es crear una historia continua basada en uno o más episodios. Es decir, quieren crear algo nuevo para variar ya que comenzar a hacer los episodios de capitulos ya vistos no es precisamente lo que tienen en mente. Menos mal...

..und auch sonst ist heute so ein Untag. Obwohl bald Wochenende ist, bin ich schlecht drauf. Und obwohl das Wetter wieder gut ist. Ich will mich jetzt im Bettkasten verkriechen und erst wieder rauskommen, wenn Urlaub ist. Geht aber nicht, denn ich muß gleich noch zum Friseur. Ich hoffe der macht heute nichts falsch, denn sonst stirbt er. Wehe, er krümmt mir auch nur ein Haar.

What was a little stranger than anticipated, however – and Kenneth Jr., bless his nosy heart, was the first to point it out – was that there was no keyhole to be found. Neither in the doorknob or the door itself. This, of course, meant that the door had to have been locked from the inside. That subtle revelation alerted Barbara to body hair she didn't know she had as it stood on end and tickled her polyester blend. The others were following her lead and basing their amount of fear on her reaction. So like a good leader who is adept at hiding his or her true feelings, she smiled and gave a "hmm" as if the can opener had broke when she was only half way around a sealed container of cranberry sauce.

Barbara took the opportunity to include Kenneth Jr., and asked him to have a look. He examined the entire circumference of the door using his hands to feel for "anomalies", and as he explained, "a draft suggesting another lock". Every door had a weak spot, he said, just as every space was accessible if you "kept at it long enough". But to be persistent meant to maintain an interest, and after a good twenty minutes, Amanda Jean had lost all of hers. Complaining of sore arms, she did an about face and headed back down the stairs. She was polite bout it, and that hurt Barbara the most. They were dropping out again like a polite game of musical chairs. At dinner, Barbara got them to admit some pretty big secrets and it got them on her side. But if something didn't happen soon, she could see how easily they might retreat back into their shells – and their hells. And now that her black cat was out of the bag, if she didn't produce some proof that she wasn't mad, they would likely go so far away as to never be seen or heard from again.

...Delilah withdrew a box about the size of a paperback novel from the bag on her shoulder and handed it to Jasper. He took it and lifted the lid, and when he done it the headlights reflected off a big ol' red, swiss army knife. It weren't your average little pocket knife with just some scissors, a nail file and a nose picker, neither. This monster had a selection of blades all big enough to carve a steak right off the bull – or a bar of soap as per one's favor. Delilah went on to explain that she chose that particular one for Jasper cause she thought the extra tools and shit folded in it might come in handy for the more delicate contours of his various creations. The way she talked sounded like she was sweet on him, or at least caring enough to look out for his muse. Jasper didn't say nothing, back. He just picked it up and played with some of the things that was sticking out of it, but the way he was touching on it gave the impression that he was appreciative of her efforts. It was a moment, no doubt about it. As was when he was cussing up a fire hydrant after all them stickers sunk into the front of his neck. He was squat-crawling towards Hellhole with them other two trailing him, and got ahead of himself. Sometimes, cutting ain't fast enough for Jasper, or so it seemed. But he sure was good at it.

Delilah gave him a "shhh" and that started him simmering down. Again, it were the way she done it: all gentle and breezy. Lucky thought his pick might come in handy in front, but it didn't seem right to split them two up and he sure as hell weren't going to be able to leap frog both of them. He got to ruminating: the way they were communicating – it was like the masks woke up their insides, making their outsides less important. Not for Lucky, though. He didn't like to dig too deep. He liked things to look nice and it bothered him a little that he had to wear that damn smelly thing over his head. It was like, where them other two was made stronger with something covering them, he was the opposite. He thought he might take it off before long, or make up a story that one of the stickers got it once they reached the window they was heading at. And when he saw that pretty little girl cross it from side to side, he made up his mind that he would. His face was a better weapon than that pick, and even though he was getting up there in years, he knew he could still work it a bit with his sweet talk. He could get most people to do and believe anything. And he reckoned he could get her to just let them on in given a half-chance.

...Amanda sat by the fire and drank straight from the bottle. Her eyes traveled like a spaceship into the sun flares of the flames and straight through to the the cold planets behind them. She thought of Eldren, and how he had annihilated her entire life with a single, 30-second phone call. She'd dropped the cell phone right from her ear, yet her knees beat it to the floor. Instantly she was transported into a nightmare from which she still hadn't awakened. Right then, thousands of boys were watching her skank out and he was somewhere with someone talking about all the things they were going to do once they were joined forever in holy matrimony: how many kids they would have; what their names would be; what kind of pets they would have; where they would go on their honeymoon and for their anniversary. He would be touching her skin, and telling her how soft and pure it was.

Pure...he would say that over and over to her, and make her feel like Snow White on a cloud in a rainbow. And then he would lean in and kiss her, his tongue making a promise he would keep as long as she stayed that way. Amanda started to cry, but they were tears born of frustration not self pity. She had stopped off in her room to grab some nail polish in case the extra wine provided her with some inspiration. If so, she wanted to have ten, clean little canvases to choose from. But now, she was too upset to be creative. Fucking Internet. With a final swig she threw the wine bottle into the fire, shattering its stained glass among the sparks.

Right behind it would be the sound of more glass breaking, causing Amanda to jump. Cause by the time Jasper had reached that window, he was too covered in bloody scratches to feel much like suffering negotiations.

No matter, they'd made it. They was in Hellhole.

What the hell is this world coming to?

Considered the Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore has been a terrorist "hot-spot" for quite a few years now. Bomb threats had been reported on a daily basis, and most of them turned out to be hoaxes. Today, we have realized that the city's security measures are quite inadequate and that the police and intelligence departments aren't up to the mark in processing the information they have. But that's always been the case with India. It always takes a disaster like this one to make people sit up and take notice of the very real threat we are facing.

The people of Bangalore have always been a resilient lot, and it made my heart light when I saw complete strangers showing support for each other and saying things like, "It's ok, we can get through this!" and "Don't worry, they can't break us!"

Support has been pouring in from all quarters of the globe and this attack has been chastised by all. Public transportation has not been disrupted, schools and offices have not been closed, people's lives hasn't changed much except for being a little wiser about the possibility of such attacks.

My most sincere condolences to all those who have been personally affected by this attack and I do hope that your spirit is strong enough to get through this ordeal. To quote a line from the movie Gandhi, "You can break my body, but not my spirit! We are not afraid!"

Reports in the media say, the areas affected includes Nayenahalli, Madivala, Adugodi and Koramangala. The injured have been admitted to St. John's hospital.

One could attribute Bengluru being the IT hub and Silicon valley of India and hence a soft corner. Police suggests, that they were triggered due to crude bombs triggered by a timer. The first blast took place at Madiwala check post, behind the The Forum, a popular shopping mall in Bengaluru. The second blast took place at Nayandahalli, and the third one took place at Adugodi.

The calls made by the concerned and panicked citizens made the telephone networks being jammed. Up untill now no one has taken responsibility to the blasts. Also heard, the after-math of the blasts has resulted in the sensex indexes changing...
