And what are the textures of such dreams? The dusty pallor of concrete laid flat against the grey-blue-yellow sky opaque like construction paper… the murky rivers soaking up tattered metallurgical hopes, chemical memories, the heavy consciences of industry… the hues of dilapidation, rotting tiles, human mold, and the sweat of modernization: the marbled shanty skins of the outskirts… the collage of cars, their European visages and monogamous colors, under languishing traffic lights, and delivery boys on cheap Japanese motor bikes weaving through automotive fabric, buzzing like infernal wasps… the facades of bakeries, shops, and boutiques arranged as delicate elements in a composition… I remember all these images and their subtitles, air sprayed on the margins of edifices, sometimes even speaking the language of commercials.

I remember the flux of people, day laborers, executives, children selling peanuts at intersections, young girls in shopping centers, old women browsing fruit markets, football games in courtyards, tumultuous bars and restaurants, and the over-arching dissonance of sighs and voices seeking respite… it was night, cool and crisp. I saw the trail of street lights curve down a hill like an elegant glowing necklace. I remember meeting a girl whose eyes were faded green like frozen grass and vibrant yellow like the bands of a yellow jacket. Her name was Patricia, every Wednesday she walked to an evangelical church to pick up a free basket of provisions for her two parents, four brothers, two sisters and three grandparents. I remember how my ears swelled, my eyes burned and reddened, and my throat inflated like a phlegmatic balloon.

I haven't seen the car since it's been finish but I'm so stoked. It feels like I am going to see the car for the first time like how I did about 3~4 years ago. But this time it won't stock anymore and a little bit faster. ;)

I'm going to be picking up the car within the next couple days. Lots more pictures to come but will probably not be very good though. Haha.

Ayala Tower One and the Enterprise Center Tower One

The Enterprise Center makes more sense because it has a junior right beside it (not visible from the photo) aptly named Enterprise Center Tower Two. The Ayala one however, does not have a two. I know building name conventions are weird, but Ayala Tower originally had a Tower Two, at least in the proposal stage. It would have been within Ayala Triangle as well. Oh well, a skyline with one less skyscraper is okay I guess, especially that Ayala Triangle has mini park of sorts instead.

Oh, yeah. I'm a skyscraper fan. Not as big as before but still... And these two are some of my favorites. Ayala Tower One is classy and dark. Sleek from one perspective, majestic on another. The Enterprise Center is a masterpiece in my opinion. If it was a bit taller it'd be perfect. And by night time it has the most dramatic lighting. Nowhere near the neon symphony of Hong Kong harbour scrapers, but so damn fine.

It's a huge opportunity for me, that i can feature this very special nissan skyline on my blog.
When i registered me on the gtroc board, this was the first skyline i saw there. I loved it at first sight. At this time the car belongs to dave. He bought this bayside blue nissan skyline r34 gtr vspec a few years back. Then he started the project with a well known tuning company called top secret. They stripped the car down and sprayed the bare shell in a special color version of midnight purple III. The blue base coat gave the car this special effect look.

A t04z turbo charger compress the air in the n1 engine built with a hks step III 2.8l kit. Dave looked at all details. He let top secret build an engine from hell, but this was not enough for him. He optimised the exterioer style in a very harmonic way like no other. All parts in the car are changed or he brought they to perfection.

Blue Ridge Parkway was originally called the 'Appalachian Scenic Highway'. The project of the "Blue Ridge Parkway" placed under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service, started in 1935 and took over fifty-two years to complete. It runs from the southern terminus of Shenandoah National Park's Skyline Drive in Virginia  to U.S. Route 441 at Oconaluftee in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park near Cherokee, North Carolina.
The Parkway has no direct interchanges with interstate highways, offers overlook and picnic areas, and commercial vehicles are prohibited. The roadway is not maintained during the wintertime and several sections which pass over higher elevations are often impassable and therefore closed from late fall to early spring.
Because the lush Blue Ridge Mountain range puts on one of the longest-running leaf color displays in the country, October is the month to enjoying nature's grand show and the numerous events and art festivals in the Blue Ridge Mountains and in our area.

The theme for this month is lines. It's pretty difficult because lines exist in practically every photo. I've lots of mediocre shots to choose from. No standouts this time because it's been rainy all September.

This area is actually very expensive. And the buildings in this photograph show anything but that, especially the ones in the foreground. If not for the valuable piece of land located in between the financial district and a well planned and over hyped development, I think the buyers would want to reconsider. And they don't need a class in aesthetics. In the neighborhood, check Serendra for low-midrise stuff and Pacific Plaza and Essensa for residential scrapers.

As stated in the blog title, this is a Nissan Skyline 2000 EX-GT from 1977. It was the first car Nissan made after they ditched the name GT-R. Luckily for us Nissan brought the name back to life and as we all know the rest is history.

Immaculate engine, a true JDM L20 engine bored to 2.9 liter, Mikuni carburators and a Circus header.

What nice picture, the lines of the car are timeless, Love it. The wheels are period correct SSR Longchamp XR-4 wheels.

I went kayaking this afternoon, which was a blast. Just me, a paddle, a big hunk of hollow plastic, and Lady Bird Lake. Oh, and my phone. My now waterlogged phone.

(Oh, and lots of turtles and water weeds and five or so other kayaks (a relatively small crowd for the lake) and some ducks and at least six cranes installing new skyscrapers on the Austin downtown skyline.)

I woke up with the urge to spend some time outside, and I am so glad I did. I lathered up with sunscreen, paid $10 for an hour's kayak rental, and went out on the water, from just past Barton Springs and east along Town Lake/Lady Bird Lake to the Lamar Boulevard Pedestrian Bridge and back again. There was barely anyone else out on the water (though the playground near the rental place was crawling with kids) and that's probably a good thing, as I'm an inferior kayaker. The sunshine, calm water, pretty 'graffiti' and lazy turtles made for a great afternoon.

After a bit of sly quick-changery in the car so as to avoid soaking my seats as much as I soaked my, uh, seat, I headed back over  to Jo's for a kefir-basil-tomato sandwich on amazing salted ciabatta bread and some Internet access so I could look up the nearest AT&T store and, well, blog about my annoyance.

So now I have a phone that will apparently let me make calls, but I don't have anyone's number memorized, and the screen is completly blank except for some water droplets, so there's no hope of scrolling through my address book for numbers.

I have AT&T and apparently qualify for a 'phone upgrade' for $18 if I extend my contract. I don't want a fancy phone or anything (no need for the iPhone, which would cost extra) but I don't know which one to get. Any suggestions?

The customer service guy for AT&T with whom I just spoke was a bit goofy, telling me a story about a man who had to replace four phones at once because he confiscated his teenage daughters' phones and had all four in his pocket when he fell out of his boat.

I'm going to head over to the AT&T store now and beg them to help me out.
