Det finns ju uppenbarligen lite problem med en sån lag, vilket gör det bra att vi inte har en sån i Sverige. Till exempel har vi ju problemet med att det faktiskt händer att folk döms oskyldigt. Det var ju en liten inflation i detta på 90-talet när var och varannan människa under hypnos "mindes" att de hade blivit sexuellt utnyttjade av diverse personer i sin omgivning. Flera av männen som anklagades dömdes oskyldigt till fängelse. Dessa är personer som i så fall omfattas av Megans Lag.

Sen har vi ju ett integritetsproblem. Även sexuella förbrytare och pedofiler är människor och har rätt till bibehållen integritet. Frågan är om det kan sägas bevara en persons integritet att lägga ut på internet vad personen i fråga är dömd för, var han bor och hur han ser ut.

Och sen har vi ju en gränsdragningsfråga. En 16-årig kille som har sex med sin 14-åriga flickvän, är han en sexuell förbrytare? Inte? Men om en 26-årig kille har sex med sin 14-åriga flickvän då? Var drar man gränsen för när det inte är ok?

Fördelen är ju såklart att det ökar föräldrarnas möjlighet att ta ansvar för sina barn. Det är lättare att anpassa sig om man har alla tillgängliga fakta, å andra sidan tror jag att få människor skulle vilja inskränka sina barns frihet för att det bor en dömd våldtäktsman i närheten. De skulle nog snarare vilja bli av med den dömda förbrytaren.

Å andra sidan så är det kanske inte enbart de redan straffade man behöver oroa sig för, och risken finns att man känner sig säker för de hemska pedofilerna, och slappnar av för mycket, för att sen bli utsatt för en förstagångsförbrytare, eller varför inte en mördare, som ju inte finns med i registret.

Frågan blir väl slutligen om man tror att även de som begått sexuella brott mot barn kan ändra sig, eller om det någonsin kan tyckas att man sonat ett sånt brott. För i så fall är dessa lagar helt fel ute. De förföljer ju ändå människor hela livet.

Strategy 2. Be different and stand out from the competition. Jordan Furniture sells more furniture per square foot than any other furniture store in the nation. They transformed their family-owned business into a multi-million dollar corporation by following a principle called "shoppertainment." To surprise employees and customers, Barry and Eliot Tatleman dressed up like the Lone Ranger and Tonto and rode horses in their parking lot. They built an IMax theater inside one store to entertain children while their parents shopped. When you drive around the back to pick up your furniture they provide you free hotdogs and wash your car windows.

Strategy 3. Build relationships with your customers. For each month that goes by, customers lose 10% of their buying power. Create a customer database and contact them on a regular basis. Mail them a postcard, birthday card, sales flyer, newsletter etc. to keep your name, phone number, and service on their mind.

Strategy 4. Collect E-Mail Addresses. As part of your customer relationship process get permission from your customers to use their E-mail address. Periodically send updates and notices to your client list. As long as you have their permission and avoid overuse, E-mail can be a powerful and inexpensive marketing tool. Consider the Fox's Pizza Den in Punxsutawney, PA, they ran an anniversary promotion offering a medium cheese pizza for the 1970s price of $1.40. To get this special price, customers had to go to their web site and register their email address to have the special coupon emailed to them. An amazing 500 email addresses were collected in two days.

Strategy 5. Avoid poisonous personalities. Unfriendly and negative employees cost you money by chasing your customers away. Spend more time and money interviewing and hiring people who enjoy helping people. Use behavior based interviewing and screening assessments to improve your chances for hiring success.

My most significant initial conversations on the tour were with younger people - really excited 18-21-year-old first-time voters – all jazzed about this election and the importance of having a say.  Contrast that with just one 21-year-old who nonchalantly shared that since it seems there are so many people who vote that it didn’t seem important for her to register.  I also ran into John the fireman who graciously let my 4 1/2 year old climb into the fire engine – right when we started talking about the election the bell went off and they headed out a fire call.  He did say he is planning to vote and my son was thrilled to see the lights and sirens going as the fire crew waved as they drove away!

The only way to kill this blog is to VOTE!!! The overwhelming majority of you are Barack Obama supporters, at least in words.  Now you must participate in your democracy.  And when you show up to where you are supposed to vote. don't let people tell you that you cannot!  You can! There are republicans out there that are so afraid of change that they trick people into thinking they are breaking the law by voting.  I know.  It's absurd, but true. So vote.  Take the day off work.  Your employer cannot prevent you from voting. You not too busy to vote.  Your too involved now not to vote.

Most of my twenties has been under a George W. Bush presidency.  Instead of becoming embittered about this, I became politically informed and active.  I could have become one of those folks who is still undecided after 20 long months of presidential campaigning.  Instead, I watched and listened to my president misrepresent my country day after day.  This couldn't be ignored; I had to participate in my democracy.

The beautiful thing about the United States is that it provides citizens with the right to choose whether or not they will actively participate in their democracy, and still allows them the benefits of this great nation, even if they do not actively participate. However, everyone participates in some way.  It's just your choice if you want to be passive about your participation, or if you want be active.  Voters and non-voters alike are now dealing with the deregulation of the markets; it doesn't matter if you voted for or against the deregulators, or if you did not vote at all.  I've never invested in stocks, yet I have to pay my tax dollars for the bankers' and the government's irresponsibility.

So, I vote.  I love it!  I love voting!  I love walking out of the voting poll station knowing that I have just participated in the most direct way that I can with my democracy.  Like the title of this blog, I just want to

high five everyone after I vote...

Which brings me to the point of this post: John McCain and Sarah Palin would be dangerously inept to run this country.  You know it.  I know it.  I began this blog as a way to reach out to people (man, woman, black, asian, white, latino, native American, everyone!) who are completely baffled at the idea that John McCain would pick a person who claims foreign policy experience based on her state's closeness to a foreign country.  Where Voters Come to High Five grew from there as a popular place to find debate drinking games, or just communicate with your fellow Obama/Biden supporters.  As you can tell by the URL, this blog was only made about five and-a-half weeks ago, the same amount of time Sarah Palin thinks it takes to become your vice president.

I need you to help me kill this blog.  The only way it would stay around is if John McCreepy becomes the next president.  I want this blog to die.  I'll even post a deathbed speech for alaskaisclosetorussia.wordpress.com, where the blog can have some last words, which will probably be along these lines : "This blog is pleased to know that it is leaving this earth knowing that Barack Obama is going to be the next US President..."

• Interpretador: Lê o código-fonte linha por linha, e executa a instrução específica contida na linha. Deve estar presente em toda execução;

• Compilador: Lê o programa inteiro e converte-o em um código-objeto, que é a tradução do código-fonte em código de máquina, sendo então passível de execução direta pelo computador (apenas digitando seu nome). Entrada para o linkeditor;

• Tempo de Compilação: Eventos que ocorrem enquanto o programa é compilado (erro de sintaxe - escrita);

• Tempo de Execução: Eventos que ocorrem quando o programa é executado (erro de semântica – significado, lógica);

Forma de um programa em C

• A linguagem C padrão é formada por 32 palavras-chave, cujo número pode variar de acordo com o compilador utilizado;

• Todas as palavras chave são MINÚSCULAS;

• Em C minúsculas e maiúsculas são diferentes, ou seja, else ELSE;

• Todo programa C consiste em uma ou mais funções com funções definidas;

• A única função obrigatória é a main(), que a primeira a ser chamada quando o programa é executado;

A biblioteca e a Linkedição

• Todo compilador C vem com uma biblioteca padrão de funções que realizam as tarefas necessárias e mais comuns;

• Portanto uma biblioteca, nada mais é que um arquivo contendo as funções que um programa C pode usar (funções de E/S e outras rotinas úteis);

• O padrão ANSI especifica o conjunto mínimo de funções que pode variar de compilador para compilador;

• As bibliotecas básicas mais utilizadas para problemas simples são: <stdio.h>=e/s;<math.h>=recursos matemáticos, etc....

• Para executar as mesmas em programas, temos a sintaxe:

#include <bibliot>

• O linkeditor combina o código-objeto do programa escrito com o código objeto das funções da biblioteca C padrão e gera um programa executável.

Obs.: A maioria dos compiladores já vem com editores que texto para feitura dos programas. Em outros onde não estes não estão inclusos deve-se usar editores padrão para criar o programa.

Expressões em C

Tipos básicos de Dados

Informa ao compilador a forma de tratamento de dados;

• O tamanho e faixa de valores variam com o tipo de processador e compilador. São eles:

1. inteiro (int)= ocupa geralmente 1 byte;

2. caracter(char)= ocupa geralmente 2 bytes representados por valores definidos pelo conjunto de caracteres ASCII

3. ponto flutuante(float)= depende da representação

4. ponto flutuante de precisão dupla (double)= idem anterior;

5. sem valor (void)= define funções sem retorno.

Modificadores de tipo básicos

• São usados para alterar o significado de um tipo básico para adapta-lo mais precisamente às necessidades de diversas situações;

• Devem preceder os tipos quando da declaração de variáveis;

Variáveis

• Uma variável é uma posição nomeada de memória que é usada para guardar um valor que pode ser modificado pelo programa;

• Todas as variáveis a serem utilizadas em um programa devem ser declaradas antes de serem usadas;

• A forma geral (sintaxe) é:

tipo lista de variáveis;

onde tipo é qualquer tipo de dados válido em C padrão e lista de variáveis pode consistir em um ou mais nomes de identificadores separados por vírgulas;

Identificadores

• São nomes dados a funções, variáveis e outros objetos definidos pelo usuário;

• Pode ter de um a diversos caracteres (6 quando estiver envolvido em linkedição e 31 quando não estiver). O número é definido pelo compilador;

• Deve começar com uma letra ou um sublinhado “_” e os caracteres subseqüentes devem ser letra, números ou sublinhados.

• Não pode ser igual a uma palavra chave;

• Letras maiúsculas e minúsculas são tratadas diferentes então = cont, Cont e CONT são identificadores distintos.

Onde as variáveis são declaradas

1. Variáveis Globais: Declaradas fora de todas as funções. É conhecida, utilizada, alocada, e mantém seu valor enquanto o programa estiver em execução.

2. Variáveis Locais: Declaradas internamente as funções ou blocos “{ }”. São conhecidas e utilizadas somente no bloco de comandos onde foram criadas. Existem apenas enquanto o bloco em que foram declaradas está sendo executado.

3. Parâmetros Formais: Se uma função usa argumentos, estas variáveis devem ser declaradas. Sua validade na função é idêntica a das variáveis locais.

Inicialização de variáveis

• Valores podem ser dados as variáveis no momento da declaração;

• Sintaxe: tipo nome_da_variável = constante;

• Exemplos:

char ch = ’a’;

int first = 0;

float balance = 123.23;

Constantes

São valores fixos que o programa não pode alterar;

• Pode ser dos cinco valores básicos de C;

• Constantes caracter: envolvidas por aspas simples (ex.:‘Cascavel’),

• Constantes inteiras: especificadas com números sem componentes fracionários (ex.:10,-100),

• Constante ponto flutuante: requerem o ponto decimal seguido da parte fracionária no número (ex.: 11.23)

• Constantes string: Conjunto de caracteres colocados entre aspas duplas. Exemplo: “Curitiba é a capital do Paraná” é uma string.

• Constantes caracter de barra inversa: A grande maioria das constantes caracter podem ser impressas. Porem outros caracteres como “retorno do carro” ou “pular uma linha” são impossíveis inserir pelo teclado por uma representação gráfica. Assim, estas constantes definem caracteres não impressos pelos comandos de saída.

Operadores

• Operador de atribuição: Representado pelo caracter “=” e estabelece a sintaxe : nome_da_variável = valor

• Operadores Aritméticos: Realizar operações elementares da matemática entre dados numéricos. A tabela abaixo aponta os principais operadores e a ordem de prioridade de execução dos mesmos.

Por exemplo: x = x +10; pode ser reescrito como x += 10; Assim, podemos reduzir o código para quaisquer operadores aritméticos através da sintaxe: var operador=expressão

Operadores Relacionais e Lógicos

• Operadores Relacionais servem para comparar números: >, >=, <,<=, = =, !=.

• Operadores Lógicos resultam valores verdadeiro e falso para expressões e regem os resultados a partir destas combinações lógicas: &&, !!, ! (e, ou e não).

• As expressões podem combinar os dois tipos de operadores e o resultado sempre será verdadeiro (em C qualquer valor diferente de 0) ou falso (em C é 0)

• A tabela verdade para os operadores lógicos podem descritas como:

This past weekend I volunteered to help people register to vote; my fellow volunteer and I met an interesting couple on our route.  The young woman, barely 20 years old,  initially said that she didn't want to register to vote.  Her partner, a young man, was curious.  Her response apparently surprised him. 

His accent sounded Eastern European to me, and thinking he was Russian, I asked him where he was from.  He said that he was Estonian, drawing the distinction.  He had come to the U.S. when he was 12.  He said he wasn't a citizen, so he couldn't register to vote.   After some consideration the young woman decided she would register, and then think about voting later.  I must admit, I wonder about the stories this young man might share, growing up in an eastern bloc country.  Voting held meaning for him, it was clear.

On another note, a friend wrote in her blog that it didn't matter much about the Vice Presidential candidate, she was voting for one man for President, not the VP. 

I believe that method of voting is just plain folly.  Here is why: I've seen two Presidents succeeded before their time.  Both men fell; one quite literally, assassination snuffing out his shining star of hope and change.  The other caused his own downfall, temperment and hubris lead to many illegalities.  These events dramatically impacted the course of history.

We are voting for a ticket, two people.  Who the Vice President is, does matter.   

For those of you not yet born or too young to recall,  President Kennedy was assassinated in November, 1963.  Etched in my memory is the black and white newspaper photo of Lyndon Johnson, right hand raised in midair, as he takes the Oath of Office while onboard Air Force One, jetting from Dallas back to Washington DC.   Beside him in the photograph stand two women.  His wife is on his right, and to his left, in the forefront, is Jackie Kennedy, newly widowed, apparently in shock, still wearing the suit stained dark with the blood of her husband, President Kennedy. 

In August, 1974, Nixon resigned just prior to the start of impeachment proceedings.  His Vice President had resigned in disgrace neraly a year earlier.  So it was in that historic political turmoil that Gerald Ford, third in line for the office, became President, and helped to heal a deeply divided country.

"History is a bridge", Mr. Ackley said in 9th grade U.S. History class.  I got an undergrad degree in History because of the love he inspired for the past and how it shaped the future.   History demonstrates that many dramatic scenarios can and have played out.  The fate of the nation, of all of us, rests on the shoulders of the President, and potentially with the Vice President. 

Consider both the candidates of your party before you vote.  You are indeed voting for a President and his successor, should the unforeseen happen.  

And then, please, exercise your right to Vote!

Or if you know someone who is not yet registered, please urge them to make their voice heard. This is the most important election in US history, with so much on the line. We have to make sure to get out there and make a difference.
