Nama Blu-ray diambil dari warna laser (blue) dan optik yang dipakai adalah ray. Dihilangkan kata “e” karena masalah trademark di mana kata yang biasa tidak bisa dijadikan trademark.

Adalah format baru untuk menyimpan data berupa video. Format ini dibutuhkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan akan teknologi HDTV <High Defiinition TV> yang menjanjikan kualitas video yang jauh lebih tajam.

Sekeping Blue-ray dengan single layer mampu menyimpan data hingga 27 Gb. Hal ini setara dengan 2 jam video dengan kualitas high definition atau sekitar 13 jam dengan kualitas video standarr.           The knocks on WM have become subtle jabs which may not even be noticed. Here is a not so subtle example of reverse discrimination creeping into politics. This is the mayor or New Orleans, Ray Nagin, on what the racial demographic of his city should be:

          Now, these are highly offensive and controversial comments. Yet, this man still has a job after he makes such racist remarks. There was fallout from these words, but at the end of the day he still sits in office. Imagine now that Mike Bloomberg comes out and says that NYC should be a vanilla city. Chaos would ensue. Activists would march on City Hall and demand his resignation. But here we have the man who occupies the executive branch of New Orleans make racist, divisive comments and offers up little more than a press release apology only to be re-elected six months later. How anyone can begin to defend these comments without spin is beyond me.

DHAKA, Bangladesh, October 1 (Compass Direct News) – Police have submitted a charge sheet to a district court accusing two persons of raping a pastor’s daughter in the village of Laksmipur, said a state prosecutor.

Sayed Tariqul Islam told Compass that police submitted the charge sheet on Sept. 7 based on an extensive investigation following a DNA test that turned out positive. Pastor Motilal Das, who has long received threats from villagers upset with his success as an evangelist, said that local residents gang-raped his 13-year-old daughter in an attempt to drive him from the area.

State prosecutor Islam said Shakil Ahmed Shebul and Dulal Miah are charged with raping Elina Das at 3 a.m. on May 2. If convicted, they will receive life terms in prison, he said.

“The DNA report is everything to prove them guilty, and I expect that they will be punished with life-term imprisonment,” said Islam.

Previously a medical college had submitted a false forensic test report indicating no evidence of sexual assault. Villagers in Laksmipur, in Fulbaria sub-district 120 kilometers (75 miles) north of Dhaka, believe relatives of the accused men paid off the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital Forensic Department to fabricate the false test results.

Pastor Das has said relatives of the alleged rapists have offered him a large sum of money to withdraw the case or settle out of court – while continuing to threaten him. He had found his daughter lying unconscious in front of his house early in the morning of May 2, he said, after five men from Mymensingh district raped her.

The charge sheet submitted by police and the positive DNA report state that the girl’s clothes were torn and marked with the semen of Shebul. A close neighbor of Pastor Das, Shebul applied for bail on Tuesday (Sept. 29), but the court refused to grant it, said Islam.

Miah remains at large. Local police inspector Tarapod Shikder told Compass that assiduous efforts were underway to arrest him.

Pastor Das told Compass that he was dismayed that the charge sheet did not require Shebul to be taken on remand by police for interrogation.

“If the arrested person was held on remand for interrogation, police would get more information regarding other rapists,” Pastor Das.

Inspector Shikder told him that police had already taken Shebul on remand for interrogation and obtained little information, Pastor Das said.

“Nonetheless,” Pastor Das said, “the charge sheet will help to heal the scars of my grief-stricken daughter if proper justice is done.”

Upset Neighbors

Defending the initial false DNA report, Forensic Department head Akhteruzzaman Talukder of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital had told Compass that he did not find any gang-rape injury or trace of forced sexual activity.

Pastor Das’s daughter “might have had a love affair with someone in the village,” Talukder said. “Her lover might have been guarded there by his several friends. When the family members came to know the incident, they cooked it up as gang rape.”

Pastor Das and Muslim villagers were extremely upset by the initial forensic report. He subsequently had his daughter’s clothes tested for DNA profiling at the National Forensic DNA Profiling Laboratory of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

His Muslim neighbors, he said, consider the positive DNA test a ray of hope for proper judgment. Pastor Das acknowledged his gratitude to some of the village neighbors who gave him moral support during that time.

“I cannot express my gratitude in words to some of my Muslim neighbors in the village who gave me courage and moral support to go forward when I got the false forensic report from Mymensingh Medical College,” he said.

When Pastor Das initially went to police to file charges, he said, police were reluctant to register the case.

“Police told me that it was a false case,” he said. “They also said that it was a fabricated drama. Police spoke with my daughter in filthy language and showed prurient interest in the details of the incident in front of us rather than filing the case quickly.”

The U.S. Department of State’s 2008 International Religious Freedom Report, released in Sept. 19, notes that Bangladeshi government officials, “including the police, were often ineffective in upholding law and order and were sometimes slow to assist religious minority victims of harassment and violence.”

The day of the alleged rape, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom announced annual recommendations for countries to be designated “Countries of Particular Concern,” but it did not include Bangladesh.

Rather, the commission put Bangladesh on its “Watch List” due to the nature and extent of violations of religious freedom engaged in or tolerated by the government. Other countries on the Watch List are Afghanistan, Belarus, Cuba, Egypt, Indonesia and Nigeria.

According to USCIRF, Islamist radicalism and violence, the threat of serious violence and continued discrimination against members of religious minority communities remain significant concerns in Bangladesh.

I'm sick and school is being a pain, so between increments of taking cold medicine and sleeping, I headed over to Atheist Central only to find this video posted. I might differ with half of what Ray Comfort says, but I will give credit where credit is due --that and the fact that this video is rather hilarious.

Ah les S.O.S Fantômes ! Que de nostalgie, je me souviendrais toujours ; j'étais tout petit, à l'école primaire, je devais me coucher à 20h30, mes frangins et moi on savait qu'il y avait ce film qui passe à la télé, du coup, on attendait tranquillement dans notre lit que notre maman parte au travail (infirmière de nuit) pour se lever et regarder le film en cachette, dans le salon, lumière toute éteinte, seule la télé allumé et la on rêvait... tout en scrutant quand même la porte d'entrée, qu'il n'y avait pas la lumière du couloir allumé, signe de grande chance pour que ce soit la voisine qui vient vérifier si on dort bien ^^

Ah lala que de souvenir ce film... Le 2eme était moins bon que le premier, mais plaisant à voir quand même. Pour ce 3eme film, tous le monde en parle dans l'équipe d'origine, le trio d'acteurs et chaud pour continuer maintenant et Bill Murray en a parlé lors d'une interview, ce n'est donc plus une rumeur, mais le tournage n'est pas encore débuté et il n'y a pas de date fixé, donc patience pour en savoir un peu plus. Tout ce que j'espere, c'est qu'ils mettent un peu de côté le shéma classique du premier et du second film, car c'était ça le gros défaut du 2eme. Wait and see ^^

First of all, please understand where I'm coming from. As something like a red-neck myself, I completely empathize with you for carrying a gun. I simply don't believe you have the right. Did the Apostle Paul make any effort to defend himself? Or what of Steven? Or any of the other apostles? Yet their scenarios were far worse then your own, my friend. Rest assured you have the law on your side. Paul didn't, but he by no means undertook to defend himself.

You talk enough about hell and judgment --you ought to be more practical about it. Could you honestly and deliberately take the life of an unbeliever, knowing very well where that person was going? Might I ask, whatever happened to turning the other cheek? Or is, perhaps, your ministry truly only about yourselves?

Provers 9:8 says "Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. Rebuke a fool, and he will hate you." I think you get the point.

You close your e-mail with "Sincerely, your brother in Christ." Yet the tone of your e-mail, young man, is anything but brotherly or Christian. While you ask some legitimate questions, the manner in which you ask them smack of sarcasm. If you are looking for a rational and respectful conversation, then I welcome it. But I don't abide the disrespect of my children (some who are older than you), so why would I accept it from you?

So, if you are a Christian, then approach me the way a young Christian man would approach an older Christian man. Change your attitude and maybe we will have a conversation. "Do not sharply rebuke an older man, but rather appeal to him as a father" (1 Timothy 5:1a).

One of the reasons I removed the article you referenced is because I came to realize that it might be a cause of stumbling for some. You validated this by the tone and content of your e-mail.

Again, I welcome your questions, so long as you can behave in a respectful manner.

The Lakers did not win the title and the season-ending Game 6 matchup may have been more difficult for L.A. fans to watch than it was for the Lakers players to play. Losing by 39 points, Boston's win marked the largest margin of victory in any NBA Finals series clinching matchup. But on a more positive note, Pau Gasol continued to prove that trading for him changed the Lakers for the better. In Game 6, the seven footer logged 11 points and eight rebounds. While it may have not been enough to get the job done this season, many believe with Pau and Kobe both dressed in purple and gold, the dynamic duo and co. could get another shot at a title next year.

Nel reparto dell'ospedale, arrivano e fanno irruzione anche dei criminali che feriscono la donna e scatenano l'ira del supereroe. Sembra la fine ma Ray salva Hancock e lui, pur di far rivivere la compagna, si allona velocemente e si trasferisce a New York.
