I. CÀI ĐẶT:
Spb Phone Suite chỉ hỗ trợ WM5/WM6 do chương trình sử dụng một số hàm API đặc biệt trên các hệ điều hành mới này. Đây là tin thật sự buồn đối với người dùng WM2003 trở về trước.
Tải phần mềm tại trang chủ rồi tiến hành cài đặt. Quá trình cài đặt như các phần mềm khác. File EXE cài trên PC thông qua MS ActiveSync. File CAB dùng để cài trên PPC. Lưu ý phải cài vào bộ nhớ chính (Main Memory) để chương trình hoạt động ổn định.
Phiên bản mới nhất hiện này là 1.1.1

II.GIỚI THIỆU CÁC CHỨC NĂNG:
1. Chức năng Profiles (quản lý chế độ điện thoại).
Đây là chức năng rất cần thiết đối với người dùng mobile nói chung và Pocket PC nói riêng. Với Spb Phone Suite, bạn có thể hiện thực được kịch bản như sau:
Đi ngủ đêm không lo ai phá quấy vì 11.30 phút chức năng phone ngừng hoạt động. Sáng hôm sau khi thức giấc thì phone lại hoạt động bình thường để đảm bảo việc liên lạc được thông suốt.
Trên đường đi làm, có thể cắm tai nghe vào nghe nhạc. Máy sẽ tự chuyển sang chế độ bạn đã cấu hình cho tai nghe (chỉ chuông, không có rung, …)
Đến 8h sáng có cuộc họp với đối tác, với lãnh đạo, máy sẽ tự chuyển sang chế độ rung để khỏi ảnh hưởng đến người khác khi có điện thoại. 11 giờ trưa sau khi họp xong máy sẽ tự động chuyển sang chế độ bình thường. Cắm PPC vào laptop máy lại tự chuyển sang chế độ kết nối với PC. Quá khoẻ!!!





2. Chức năng Call Filtering:
Đây là chế độ chặn cuộc gọi đơn giản nhưng hữu hiệu để tránh những cuộc gọi không mong muốn hoặc có mục đích phá hoại. Bạn có thể đưa một/nhóm người vào danh sách đen/trắng. Trên cơ sở đó, khi có điện thoại tới thì chương trình sẽ cho phép nhận cuộc gọi hay không.
Ngoài ra, Spb Phone Suite cho phép bạn gửi tin nhắn cho đối tác khi từ chối cuộc gọi một cách lịch sự.

3. Chức năng Missed Notifications:
Đây là chức năng thông báo cho bạn biết khi có SMS chưa đọc, cuộc gọi bị lỡ. Cho phép bạn chọn chế độ thông báo rung hay có tiếng, nhắc lại trong khoảng thời gian tự chọn.


4. Chức năng hiện ảnh trong Call History (Dialer Extensions):
Đây là một chức năng rất thú vị của Spb Phone Suite. Khi sử dụng tính năng này bạn dễ dàng lần tìm contact đã từng giao dịch phone thông qua hình ảnh đại diện của họ.

5. Chức năng hiển thị Today plug-in:
Spb Phone Suite cho phép sử dụng một phần không gian màn hình chính của PPC để hiển thị các thông tin và nhanh chóng truy xuất thông tin về: tên nhà cung cấp dịch vụ mạng, quản lý cuộc gọi, tin nhắn, email, voice mail. Ngoài ra còn có chức năng bật/tắt nhanh các kết nối, profiles.
Một tính năng khác là Photo Speed Dial cho phép bạn gọi điện/nhắn tin nhanh cho một người nào đó thông qua hình đại diện.

Tive um Zire 71, depois um Zire 72, depois um TX.  São pequenos, leves, ligam rápido e com cartões SD podem carregar quantos programas e informações forem necessários.

Assim como no PC, gosto do Palm "limpo", então, só instalei recursos indispensáveis:

- ISilo: com ele carrego verdadeira biblioteca no bolso do jaleco. Uns dez "Currents"; livros texto de dois volumes - cirurgia (Sabiston e Schwartz), clinica médica (Cecil e Harrison), dermatologia (Fitzpatrick); manuais diversos (ecg, doses em pediatria, estadiamento em oncologia, e outros); os indispensáveis DEF e CID 10; livro de medicina natural, de alergia, de laboratório, de patologia (Robbins). Uma maravilha! Claro que não é agradável ficar estudando um capítulo inteiro na telinha. Mas quando a gente está diante de uma pessoa portadora de anemia falciforme em crise, por exemplo, e não lembra dos detalhes da conduta, é um alívio poder consultar o amiguinho que liga rápido!

- Jogos: gamão, freecell, bilhar, text twist, book worm, alchemy, vexed;

- Adobe reader: pra ler artigos das revistas;

- Documents to Go;

- Smart List: maravilhoso, indispensável, espetacular banco de dados. Criei meus formulários e com ele carrego informações detalhadas de cada paciente operado desde 2003.

- Splash Photo: nele, todas as fotos de todos os pacientes operados desde 2003, pré, per e pós op.

- pTunes: excelente tocador de músicas no Palm;

- Instalação pro teclado, dobrável e muito prático.

Só.

Com isso, ia eu muito feliz, com meu companheirinho no bolso. Só que TODOS os palms que tive foram acometidos pela Mad Digitizer Sindrome . É de enlouquecer. Realmente, o pequeno fica inutilizado, e não é nada barato simplesmente ir e comprar outro.

Mas, como continuar carregando meus dados no bolso sem ele?

Sem querer, me vi na selva dos smartfones, pdas e notebooks, grandes e pequenininhos (tipo o da Asus).

Sem querer porque estava muito feliz com o Palm e o celular, antes de o infeliz enlouquecer.

Descobri que existem verdadeiras seitas. Os usuários de smartfones me olhavam com dó quando eu dizia que preferia manter pda e celular vinculados só por bluetooth.

Os que têm preparo físico, coragem e pachorra de carregar o notebook por todo lado tentaram me fazer acordar pra Jesus e aceitar em meu coração que só o note salva.

Claro que hesitei. O suado dinheirinho que ganho trabalhando não é pra jogar fora em aparelhinhos bonitinhos, caros e vagabundos.

Fiquei balançada pelo Asus Eee, pela portabilidade, mas, como pedir ao paciente com crise falcêmica que espere o sistema operacional inicializar? Not.

Motivada pela credibilidade da HP, resolvi dar uma última chance às telas de toque e comprei um iPAQ.

Que choque cultural!

O sistema operacional do bichinho é o tal Windows Mobile, com todas as chatices, limitações e falta de recursos da Microsoft. Ah, se eu pudesse usar o Palm OS nele!

Mas não posso. Para poder manter meus livros e dados no bolso, vou rezando pra essa tela de toque também não enlouquecer, e, com tristeza no coração, passo pelo penoso processo de adaptação ao novo sistema.

Está difícil viver sem o Text Twist (que existe para ppc, mas *urgh* é pago) e tendo que aturar a complicada, limitada e teimosa agenda de compromissos do iPAQ, dependente do *urgh* Outlook (eu sei que tem mil agendas pra instalar, mas sinto saudade do Palm Desktop). E, susto dos sustos, choque dos choques, o Smart List não roda no ppc. Cáspita!

Mais do que lesada, me sinto órfã. Traída pela Palm, de cuja congregação eu era uma fiel.

Em tempo: é claro que se acontecer de eu estar diante de uma crise falcêmica (ou de qualquer outra situação fora da minha especialidade) sem o Palm, alguém virá ajudar, óbvio. fazit - programm lädt in den grundoptionen nur text was für unterwegs sehr praktisch ist. nachteil ein öffnen der links bringt eine fehlermeldung das die seite nicht geöffnet werden kann da sie nicht als vertrauenswürdig eingestuft wurde - aber nach konfiguration lies sich dieses problem auch beheben.

A lil' something to create shortcuts to anything in the Start menu. This one was also designed for square screen devices. There are better solutions out there (look on XDA-Developers), but most won't work on 240x240 screens.

Espero puedan ayudarme con un problemilla que tengo, resulta que desarrolle una aplicacion para ua hand held marco psion workabout pro, y hasta alli todo bien, he logrado consultar y escribir los registros que debo recolectar, sin embargo ahora necesito enviar todos los datos recolectados a una base de datos general en un servidor con mysql, (en la hand held trabaje con sqlserverCe) y no se me ocurre una manera de hacerlo (hice una aplicacion que recorre registro por registro) pero no creo que se lo mas adecuado, entonces pregunto a los que saben, que puedo hacer desde ya agradezco su ayuda

1. Mediaplayer - das im Originalzustand vorhandene MS-Teil ist eigentlich gnadenlos entfernt von sinnvoll, besser funktionieren Winampaq oder GSPlayer
2. GB-Emulator - da die nativ vorhandenen Spiele aufgrund der kleinen Zielgruppe meist etwas sparsam ausfallen ist ein Emulator für eine richtige Konsole unumgänglich. Auf meinem Jornada (SH3-CPU) musste ich meist auf PalmGB (kostenpflichtig) zurückgreifen, auf dem ipaq versuche ich es jetzt mit Gnuboy.
3. Taschenrechner - klingt trivial, es kann aber manchmal verdammt praktisch sein wenn der Taschenrechner eine Vorrangautomatik besitzt.. meine Empfehlung: Calc98
4. PDF-Reader - Ich habe ein tragbares Gerät mit kleinem Bildschirm... warum sollte ich keine Ebooks darauf lesen? (i swore the hypocrites oath!)
5. Dateimanager - Der mitgelieferte Explorer ist im Laufe der Zeit tatsächlich erheblich besser geworden, das ändert aber nichts daran dass RescoExplorer (kostenpflichtig) oder GSFinder+ (noch besser und kostenlos) dem Ding noch immer um Jahrzehnte vorraus sind.
6. Task-Switcher - Das Wechseln zwischen einzelnen, laufenden Programmen ist nur mit MS-Tools noch immer nahezu unmöglich. Die meisten PPC-Hersteller liefern daher ihre eigenen Programme mit, aber das beste ist imho noch immer PocketNav.
7. IP-Telefon - Lohnt sich leider nur auf Geräten mit WLAN wirklich (mein Jornada vlt. noch, wenn ich Skype auf die 16MB internem Speicher quetschen kann, für den Ipaq fehlt noch eine SD-Wlankarte und Cindys neues Handy kann das natürlich schon von Haus aus)
8. Wörterbuch - Meine Empfehlung bisher (Tests erfolgten nur unter SH3-Software) SlovoED (leider kostenpflichtig), sofortige Resultate und gut zum durchblättern
9. Web-Browser - Leider kann ich auf diesem Gebiet nicht viele Erfahrungswerte liefern. Was ich aber mit Sicherheit sagen kann ist dass der PocketIE totaler Müll ist. Der wurde auch seit meinem Jornada nicht wirklich verbessert. Opera soll ganz gut sein und Mozilla Minimo soll ebenfalls  vorhanden sein.
10. Netzwerktools - Ich hatte schon alle möglichen Sachen in dieser Richtung auf meinem Jornada installiert, leider war das meiste grob gesagt Müll. Programme die die grundsätzlichen Funktionen wie Ping, ARP Requests oder Timeserver-Abfragen ermöglichen gibt es durchaus, doch alles was darüber hinaus geht wird schwer. (Wlan-Entdeckungs-Software gibt es teilweise noch, doch dazu verwende ich lieber mein Notebook.)

Diese Liste stellt wie immer keinen Anspruch der Vollständigkeit oder inhaltlicher Richtigkeit.

BTW: das passt doch eigentlich auch ideal zu /home/zeros "Personal Toolbox".. auch wenn das Projekt wohl als gescheitert angesehen werden muss weil leider kaum jemand mitgemacht hat.

I was an exhibitor at the conference and during the quiet times, was checking my phone for messages and emails as the Internet services at the venue at Auckland Univesity were shocking. I was in a building next door to the Auckland university IT Campus and the best local internet I could get was 128kbps. This morning I was listening to a podcast while I was in the shower about Internet services in Mali and how their pipe was only 2Gbps. Being landlocked they have to rely on other countries for access to the submarine cable. They would be horrified at the speed I got in Auckland, but I digress.

A number of people asked if my phone was a Blackberry and how did I like it. My answer was, yes, indeed it is a Blackberry, as issued by my company. Do I like it? I intensely dislike it. I'm a power user of mobile internet, after all I wrote the book, Unleashing the Roadwarrior and I taught companies how to improve efficiency in the field using mobile and wireless devices. Unfortunately I no longer walk the talk.

You see, to me mobile and wireless computing is about efficiency and touching things as few times as necessary. I've come from the world of touch screens and along with the book, published texts including Mastering your Palm and Mastering your Pocket PC.

For people who only use the phone 'killer apps' of voice and text, the Blackberry is a wonderful device. It has a qwerty keyboard so if you don't use txt abbreviations, you can type your messages without having to remember the buttons and as a phone, it is perfectly adequate. If you are a Baby Boomer, the ability to do these things as well as read, send and receive email is wonderful. Attachments are another story, but you can send and receive email and you can do it securely through your MS Exchange Server which makes the IT Department happy. It does also synch wirelessly with Exchange for my contacts and calendar, but that's pretty much where the fun and utility ends for me.

Here's what I did with my Blackberry over 3 days at the conference. I sent and received a couple of urgent emails. I sent and received a couple of Twitter messages (which all but exhausted the ability of the browser.

Here's what I could have done if I still had a Windows Mobile or Palm device. Actually I do still own old models, but they are old and I don't really want to carry multiple devices anymore, although I could possibly consider a new Windows Mobile, Palm or iPhone, given the right opportunity, especially since there is now an iPhone Reader:)

I could have made lots of notes using handwriting recognition on the touch screen. I can write Graffiti or block characters without having to look at the device, so that I can concentrate on the speaker. These would have been written straight into MS Word, so that I would have them available for other purposes, such as copying and pasting into my blog. Instead I used scraps of paper, one of which I have already misplaced.

I could have taken photos of exhibits, slides and delegates for future use and reference.

I could have beamed my digital business card to others who used similar devices.

I could have shown off some of our mapping technology on the IE browser, even richer if the phone also had GPS, which my Blackberry doesn't. (Mine is probably 2 years old) Relevant given that I work for a mapping company, specialising in web mapping API's, routing, tracking and car navigation.

I could have quickly referenced web sites discussed during the papers and bookmarked them on the spot for future reference and integration with my favourites on the desktop.

I could have drawn mind-maps to enhance my note taking.

I could have read one of my eBooks, after setting up and while waiting for the delegates to arrive in the morning, or checked the daily paper.

I could have made audible notes and embedded them into an email, or even recorded segments of a presentation.

It's about efficiency, about touching things once but having access to them in lots of ways. It's about being able to combine real time research with the discussion on the browser. You see, we can think and take in a lot more in the time that a presenter speaks, and in terms of our points of reference. It's about then being able to access any of those pieces of information, communicate them and collaborate with other people.

Instead I have a few pieces of paper that I hope I won't lose.

I guess this is about the dichotomy I live and work in. On the one side there is an infrastructure designed to keep data secure and cater to the lowest common denominator, for the most of whom, without training and motivation, even a Blackberry is overkill. On the other side, a busy person who wants to make the most of the information, people and media available at any given point in time. To leverage it.

The conference providers gave the delegates a CD with copies of all of the presentations, which was great. But it is pretty analogue and although I am very interested, I will probably never get around to looking at it. I will hopefully get to some of my notes, along with notes from other events that I havebeen to recently, scribbles on pieces of paper or the backs of business cards.

Then of course there are podcasts. I am big on maximising my time and whenever I am in the car, walking, exercising or doing chores, I am connected to my iPod.

So, yes it is a Blackberry in my pocket. Would I recommend it to anyone? No. Not unless all you want is a phone that does exchange / text email really well. That's all it was designed for. I want more! I'm a busy person who wants to multitask. I want a touch screen, preferably multipoint. I want efficiency.

Lưu ý: 

- Smart Inbox XS bản dùng thử chứa trong nó 1 phần rất nặng các hệ thống kiểm tra đăng ký, nên nếu bạn đăng ký nó thì chương trình sẽ chạy nhanh hơn rất nhiều.- Khi sử dụng, các bạn cần phải back up thường xuyên SMS của mình để tránh tình trạng mất dữ liệu hoặc thông tin. Dù là 1 chương trình thương mại, chúng tôi cũng không chịu bất cứ trách nhiệm nào nếu Smart Inbox không mang lại kết quả hài lòng cho bạn.

- Nếu muốn dùng lại default Inbox (của Windows) và nhận lại SMS một cách bình thường bạn cần phải dùng menu “Soft reset” của chính Smart Inbox để thoát và soft reset lại máy của bạn.

CHÚ Ý: HIỆN NAY (THÁNG 9 NĂM 2008) SMART INBOX XS KHÔNG CÒN ĐƯỢC HỖ TRỢ NỮA, BẠN CHỈ CÓ THỂ DÙNG SMART INBOX CHO MÁY CHẠY HỆ ĐIỀU HÀNH WM 5.0 TRỞ XUỐNG (CÁC DÒNG TRƯỚC) MÀ THÔI!!!

Bây giờ tôi xin giới thiệu qua những đặc điểm và tính năng của Smart Inbox XS (hay còn là version Smart Inbox 2.0).

Các bạn vui lòng đọc kỹ những thông tin bên dưới cũng như đọc kỹ Hướng dẫn sử dụng có trong link download bên dưới trước khi sử dụng.

- Smart Inbox XS không phải là bản đầy đủ có tất cả các tính năng của Version 1.0. Chủ yếu tôi giữ lại các chức năng quan trọng và bỏ bớt đi những chức năng “màu mè” làm cho chương trình 1.0 bị nặng nề. Tuy thế tham vọng của tôi là mang đến một phần mềm nhiều công năng, do đó XS cũng không phải nhẹ. Đối với một số máy (ví dụ Mini S) các bạn nên dùng các chương trình tăng tốc cho máy sử dụng thêm nhanh, chạy chương trình được mượt mà thêm. Tuy nhiên, điều quan trọng là Smart Inbox XS đã thay da lột xác và hoàn toàn khác hẳn Smart Inbox 1.0 là phiên bản trước!!!

- Smart Inbox XS không đòi hỏi các bạn phải cài thêm bất cứ file nào (NET hoặc OpenNET) như version 1.0.

- Smart Inbox XS có thể cài trên Memory Card hoặc trên device, nhưng chúng tôi khuyến cáo bạn nên cài trên device để đảm bảo độ ổn định của chương trình khi chạy.

- Smart Inbox XS trong phiên bản lần này (link download bên dưới) hỗ trợ cho cả Windows Mobile 5.0, Windows Mobile SE và 2003. Nói chính xác hơn là bạn phải download đúng loại files cab cần thiết (xem links bên dưới).

-Smart Inbox đã được test trên 1 số device, nhưng vẫn còn chưa đầy đủ với tất cả loại máy, do đó chúng tôi rất mong nhận được sự phản hồi của các bạn để hoàn thiện chương trình hơn nữa.

Những chức năng chính của Smart Inbox XS (so với version cũ):

- Nhận và lưu tất cả SMS (tin nhắn) vào Smart Inbox, chạy trên hệ điều hành WM 5.0. 

- Đồng thời với việc lưu tin nhắn vào Smart Inbox, nay bạn có thể tùy chọn nhận và lưu tin nhắn vào default Inbox bình thường hoặc hoàn toàn không nhận vào default Inbox (thiết lập này có thể gán cho từng nhóm riêng biệt, hoặc từng số riêng biệt).

- An toàn hơn, thậm chí Bạn cũng có thể nhận và lưu SMS vào default Inbox và mã hóa nó để người khác không đọc được. Muốn đọc được những tin nhắn mã hóa trong default Inbox, bạn chỉ cần vào Smart Inbox để nhập khóa giải mã và đọc. 

- Thêm chức năng “Thu nhỏ khi khởi động”

- Thêm chức năng “Tự khởi động khi reset máy”

- Bạn có thể làm cho Smart Inbox “tàng hình” (chạy background) bằng cách dùng tùy chọn không bỏ hoặc bỏ Icon của chương trình trên khay tác vụ. Có thể nói, nay Smart Inbox đã an toàn lại càng an toàn hơn cho việc nhận tin nhắn của bạn.

- Với Smart Inbox XS, nay bạn cũng có thể chỉnh thiết lập riêng cho delivery report khi gửi tin (bạn gửi tin hoặc gửi tin tự động)

-Hỗ trợ Windows Mobile 5.0 và Landscape mode

- Có 2 skin (giao diện) chính cho bạn chọn là Black và Bliss làm cho chương trình đỡ nhàm chán. Khi dùng bạn chỉ cần chọn file cab tương ứng và install (hình bên dưới chỉ là minh họa, trên thực tế có thể đổi khác).
