Not so long ago they've announced the project after a long time denying of speculations but they've finally let the cat out of the bag!  'Just read the announcements on their official blog -- they'll have Chrome available for download in almost 100 countries tomorrow!

Admittedly, Google did use Apple's WebKit and Mozilla's Firefox's components and openly gave credit to them.  Ahem, and Opera? Where did you think Firefox based its upgrades from? *hehe, just kidding*

I think this project is to watch out for considering the many advantages which were enumerated here which shows that though they may imitate some features from the mentioned browsers but then it could be a standalone on some aspects.

Google has been known as one of the leading search engines around and I so love it!  It makes me expect more quality work from them.
