Replace the Banshee Launcher with the execution of this script and it will open Banshee for ya. Typically, the launcher should have the following as its command :

python /home/toolweb/Documents/pidgin_banshee_status.py

and be sure to "Uncheck" your MusicTracker Plugin in Pidgin else this won't work as it would be interfering with this. Have Fun!

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Add these lines

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/banshee-team/ubuntu hardy main

Save and close the file.

Update your repos

sudo apt-get update

Install Banshee-1

sudo apt-get install banshee-1

Pidgin is one of the best free-open source clients for instant messaging (simply chatting). Besides you can extend its features with the use of plugins. So lets get down to the main topic.. Most of you might have experienced the "Now Playing" plugin in WLM which basically displays the currently playing song in your personal message. But unfortunately Pidgin lacks in this feature. So as I wanted this thing very badly I'v googled.. and voila..!! I'v found a plugin called MusicTracker which is pretty easy to use and the best is it supports many famous media players like iTunes, Windows Media Player, Winamp & Foobar 2000. The only drawback is it shows song information along with your display name.

Configuring MusicTracker

Once you install it, open Pidgin and select plugins by clicking on the tools menu. Afterwards enable MusicTracker and click Configure. So you will be able to configure the plugin as necessary. By the way, I would like to recommend these settings for easy configuration.

Player: Auto-detect

Playing: | %p - %t

Paused: | %p - %t <paused>

So it will be like yourname | artist – song

One thing to point out though, that the use of %m switch won't work perfectly since the symbol is a Unicode character and some of the IM clients don't support Unicode in their text boxes. And make sure that you leave the "Stopped/off:" text box blank.

چند روزی است که پلاگینی با عنوان MusicTracker را بر روی pidgin نصب کردم. این مطلب به معرفی و نحوه نصب و استفاده از این پلاگین می پردازد.

معرفی
MusicTracker موزیکی که شما آن را گوش می دهید، در status شما نمایش می دهد. این پلاگین برای مسنجر (پیام رسان؟) pidgin که در گذشته با نام gaim شناخته می شد درست شده است.
نسخه فعلی (۰.۴.۱) از موزیک پلیر های Amarok, Rhythmbox, Audacious, XMMS, MPC/MPD, Exaile, Banshee, Quod Libet در لینوکس و موزیک پلیر های Winamp, Windows Media Player (9+), iTunes, Foobar2000 در ویندوز پشتیبانی می کنید.

نیازمندی ها
• Pidgin نسخه ۲.۰.۰ یا بالاتر در لینوکس یا ویندوز
• برای نصب پلاگین (کامپایل؟) در لینوکس نیاز به کتابخانه های توسعه و هدر های Pidgin، بسته های توسعه DBUS-Glib، کتابخانه pcre و build-essential دارید. برای نصب این بسته ها از دستور زیر در ترمینال استفاده کنید:

sudo aptitude install pidgin-dev libdbus-glib-1-2 libdbus-glib-dev libndesk-dbus-glib1.0-cil libpcre3 libpcre3-dev libpcrecpp0 build-essential

نصب
* در اینجا فقط نصب در لینوکس آموزش داده می شود. لطفا دوستانی که در ویندوز این پلاگین رو نصب کرده اند، لینک راهنما را در نظرات همین مطلب قرار دهند.

ابتدا بسته تاربال (tar.bz2) را از صفحه دانلود موجود در گوگل کد بگیرید. (به دلیل تحریم های داخلی و خارجی، مجبور به استفاده از قیل - تر شکون هستید)

در ترمینال با استفاده از دستور cd وارد دایرکتوری که این بسته در آن قرار دارد شوید.
سپس دستورات زیر را وارد کنید:

tar -xvf musictracker*.tar.bz2
./configure
make
sudo make install

بعد از اجرای دستورات بالا این پلاگین با موفقیت نصب می شود. pidgin را رستارت کنید.

فعال سازی
برای فعال سازی در قسمت پلاگین ها، پلاگین MusicTracker را تیک بزنید.

Instalação

Nenhuma das distribuições que eu conheço inclui o MusicTracker em seus repositórios. Por isso teremos que compilá-lo direto do código fonte.

Antes de começar devemos instalar algumas dependências. As dependências inluem:

• Pidgin 2.0.0 ou superior
• As bibliotecas de desenvolvimento do Pidgin(comumente pidgin-devel)
• A biblioteca pcre e seu pacote de desenvolvimento (comumente pcre e pcre-devel)
• Dbus-glib

Instalação das dependências:

Debian, Ubuntu e derivados:

# apt-get install libpcre3-dev pidgin-dev

OpenSuSE

Selecione os pacotes pcre-devel e pidgin-devel no YaST.

Mandriva

# urpmi libpcre-devel pidgin-devel

ToDo: Preciso incluir a instalação das dependências em outras distribuições.

Pra instalar o plugin em si não basta mais do que baixar, descompactar e executar os três comandinhos mágicos:

$ wget -c http://musictracker.googlecode.com/files/musictracker-0.4.1.tar.bz2
$ tar jxvf musictracker-0.4.1.tar.bz2
$ cd musictracker-0.41
$ ./configure
$ make
# make install (como root)

Nota: Para os usuário do ArchLinux, existe uma PKGBUILD no AUR do MusicTracker. Ela pode ser encontrada aqui.

Usando o Plugin

Abra o Pidgin, conecte-se e vá em Ferramentas > Plugins. Localize o MusicTracker, ative-o e clique em Configurar plugin.

Em Player você pode selecionar o player que você usa e que será detectado.
A opção Status Format permite que você configure o modo como será mostrada a música na sua mensagem de status. Para isso você deve usar o código referente às variáveis do MusicTracker. Em Adicionar há uma lista completa, mas aqui vão algumas:

• %p - Artista
• %a - Album
• %t - Nome da música
• %m - Símbolo de nota musical
• %d - Duração da Música

Feita a configuração, você pode ser supercool novamente e mostrar pra todo mundo o que está ouvido ;)
