Al tener una capacidad tan reducida, sólo podía llevar conmigo 30-35 canciones a la vez, de un total de 150 en mi biblioteca. Eran los días de cambiar canciones cada 2 por 3 y usar el Windows Media Player. Eran los dias en los que pasaba las tardes en la casa de Erik, los domingos que disfrutaba en la YMCA (a la que dedicaré un post especial). 

Luego tuve otro de 512MB, pero ese no me acompaño por tanta hazañas como aquel Hi-Tech que con tanto cariño rcuerdo. Fui con el de 512 a Cuzco, y ahi descubri que tener sólo 2 botones para cambiar entre 120 canciones era una tortura, particularmente cuando el viaje a Cuzco no fue exactamente feliz, al menos para mí.

Luego de eso me pase un tiempo sin un MP3, ya no iba a la YMCA ni a la casa de mi amigo, así que no necesitaba escuchar música para viajar.

Pero comenzé a interesarme en Apple, y el campo de distorción de realidad de Steve hizo su efecto, yo quería un iPod. Y lo conseguí.

Pasé de tener unas 200 canciones a 1005, casi una barrera psicológica para mí. Y con ellas vinieron una gran decisión, el que música escuchar, pues al tener acceso a toda mi biblioteca musical, casi 4 días sin parar de música, no puedo escucharla toda en un viaje, así que me dí cuenta de algo que aplica a casi todas las facetas de mi aburrida vida.

No puedes hacer de todo todo el tiempo, no puedes extender tu tiempo hasta el infinito, tienes que utilizar sabiamente tu tiempo, porque cada minuto de tu vida es muy importante, las 1000 canciones son como las cosas que puedes hacer, debes escoger las que realmente te gusten o sean importantes para tí. Tu tiempo no será eterno, no lo malgastes siguiendo las barreras que te separan de aquello que en verdad deseas, pues tu corazón te guiará con mucha mayor precisión que cualquier regla escrita.

De cualquier forma, prefiero escuchar un buen podcast...

Tolle Idee eigentlich ... erstmal mit Dumping Preisen locken, dann nachträglich die User zum Kauf einer völlig überteuerten Festplatte überreden ( sobald die Herstellungskosten für diese weit unter dem VK liegen ). Dennoch - das ganze ist nur ein Gerücht, vielleicht ist nix dran. Vielleicht gibt es auch ein NXE light, ohne Avatare .. das könnte deutlicher kleiner ausfallen. Was den Usern dann entgeht ? Beliau yang memperkenalkan Islam Hadhari, memperkenalkan slogan mari bekerja bersama saya, tidak dituruti oleh ahli-ahli Umno dan pemimpinnya, akhirnya tunduk tersungkur atas desakan ahli-ahli Umno yang kebanyakannya berkepentingan diri.

Slogan-slogan yang dicipta semasa memegang PM sekarang entah ke mana, sekarang baru nak perbaik sistem kehakiman pula, nak tubuh suruhanjaya pencegahan rasuah, semua ini adalah tuntutan parti-parti pembangkang sebelum pilihanraya lalu bagi mengaburi mata rakyat supaya penyelewengan dan penyalahgunaan kuasa serta kezaliman yang dilakukan oleh pemimpin mereka dapat ditutup.

Tunduk kepada desakan si Rafidah Aziz, Muhyiddin Yassin dan beberapa MT lain serta mainan 'licik' Tun Dr Mahathir akhirnya Pak Lah berhenti jua. Tetapi akhir-akhir ini Dr M masih tidak yakin yang Pak Lah tidak akan mempertahankan jawatan. Dr M buat-buat terkejut mendengar pengumuman Pak Lah itu.

Diharap rakyat tidak terkelabu dengan isu Pak Lah ini, rakyat tidak lupa dengan skandal-skandal yang dilakukan pemimpin Umno, kisah pembunuhan Altantuya, pembelian kapal selam TUDM, pembelian jet pejuang tentera.

Penahanan tanpa bicara, mangsa -mangsa politik di bawah zalim ISA. Tok Guru Nik Aziz berkata penahanan tanpa bicara adalah zalim.

"Dalam Islam tiada tahan orang tanpa bicara, mesti dibicarakan", katanya.

Ahli Parlimen Kubang Kerian, Salahuddin Ayub menyifatkan keptusan PM tidak mempertahankan jawatan Presiden Umno pada mac 2009 adalah tindakan mengaku kalah dan akur kepada gesaan ahli Umno sendiri.

"Tindakan Pak Lah ini membuktikan bahawa umno semakin hancur dan mencapai tahap tidak releven lagi dengan waktu sekarang.

"Umno sekarang memburu kehancuran," katanya.

Sebentar tadi saya sempat ke Ceramah Aidilfitri membabitkan Tuan guru Nik Aziz, Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Dato Husam Musa dan YB Saifuddin Nasution di Padang Perdana Kota Bharu.

Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim berkata, sekiranya benar Pak Lah mengaku kesalahannya yang menyebakan partinya kalah di lima negeri, Pak Lah masih ada masa sebelum Mac ini untuk membebaskan tahanan politik di bawah ISA.

"Sekiranya kita merintah hari ini, esok kita akan bebaskan tahanan politik ISA," kata Anwar disambut dengan laungan takbir.

Husam dalam ceramahnya berkata tanda-tanda kejatuhan sesebuah kerajaan sudah jelah. salah satu adalah apabila parti-parti mereka berpecah belah dan parti kita pula bersatu padu.

Manakala Tok Guru dalam ulasannya mengenai Pak Lah tidak mempertahankan jawatannya berkata sepatutnya Pak Lah meminta bukti apa kesalahannya sehingga timbul desakan supaya dia berhenti.

"Kalau dia (Pak Lah) yakin dia betul kenapa dia mesti melepaskan jawatan, kalau dia rasa (Pak Lah) rasa bersalah kenapa mesti menangguhkannya, berhenti saja dan tak perlu tangguh," kata Tok Guru.

Recentemente eu tenho tomado atitudes que alguns condenam. Como se a minha vida (que eu custeio e que eu assumo os riscos) tivesse que passar pelo crivo de geral.
Dou cada vez menos explicações sobre meus porquês a estas pessoas, e lamento ter tomado esta atitude tardiamente!
Pode-se fazer grandes coisas em silêncio.
Nada de extravagâncias... Só o que eu  'realmente preciso', isso tem feito a diferença.

Tenho algumas aparências exageradas, mas busco conseguir tudo de um jeito simples.
Metas, metas e metas. E disciplina.
Ainda não encontrei o ponto de equilíbrio, mas tenho acreditado em mim, e apesar dos tropeços tem dado certo.
Porque eu quis e quero assim. Nada de egoísta nesta frase, apenas tenho tido foco em viver com aquilo que me é necessário, não cheguei exatamente lá, mas já estou no caminho.

As etapas para conquistá-lo. Os esforços que são exigidos. E a disposição para seguir em frente.
Muitas vezes, o querer estar acaba sendo o caminho mais curto para que tudo dê errado. Porque, tudo acaba sendo o contrário do que parecia ser.
Compreeder, tolerar são ajetivos inerentes a quem se dispõe a lutar por uma causa – certo? Em termos. Existem coisas incompreensíveis.
E haja bom humor para seguir em frente. Aliás, ultimamente o máximo que eu consigo ser é civilizada, nem dócil nem bem humorada.
Mas, voltando aos caminhos que tenho trilhado: uma vidinha de cão e gato, para que a vida siga seu curso normal e a vida possa ser feliz não quero me fazer de amiguinha de ninguém para sempre, apenas preciso de sossego.
Outra que é verdade eu não sou sempre boazinha. Eu sou um monte de coisas – uma pessoas cheia de contrastes.
Na real, existem aqui em mim e em qualquer pessoa, as boas qualidades (não demonstro aos quatro ventos) e grandes defeitos (alguns domados), mas o fato é que existem. E o que eu quero é uma vida saudável, eliminando quem só vê o que quer.
Portanto fica cada vez mais clarom que as certezas absolutas, podem ser exatamente o contrário do que se pensa. Então: nem rola de acreditar no que ouço, assim logo de cara, porque não basta ser o que se diz – é preciso parecer o que mostra dizer.
Assim a vida pode até ser menos vibrante, mas as serão mais saudáveis, e é isso que eu quero.
Enquanto isso, estar distraída e encontrar uma boa notícia por perto.

Wah, begitu mudah hujjah Annuar hujjah Pak Pandir juga nampaknya.Sebagai seorang Menteri Besar pun tak boleh tegur kerajaan Pusat, wah ini sudah melampau.

Setara MB Kelantan tak wibawa gak, kita (rakyat marhaen) apa lagi memang tak layak lah nak tegur kerajaan Pusat. Inilah kenyataan sombong bongkak pemimpin Umno Kelantan. Padan pun BN tak dapat nak ambil Kelantan daripada PAS dalam pilihanraya lalu walaupun PAS Kelantan ketika itu hanya majoriti dua kerusi (salah satu kerusinya hanya menang dengan dua undi) yang undi popularnya sepatut BN dah merintah Kelantan.

Annuar ada bukti, katanya, tetapi buktinya tak boleh dibuat bukti untuk dikatakan bersalah di mahkamah. Hei Annuar buatlah repot kepada Perdana Menteri sekiranya Menteri Besar Kelantan itu melakukan kesalahan.

Dalam akhbar Sinar Harian semalam melaporkan, Tok Guru Menteri Besar mendakwa banyak projek-projek besar Persekutuan Persekutuan di negeri-negeri diberi kepada kroni dan kepada mereka yang tidak layak dan kurang berkemampuan.

Contoh terbaru Jambatan Sultan Yahya Kedua menghubungi Pasir Pekan Kota Bharu, nampaknya macam dah terbiar. Daripada risikan kita, JKR dah nak 'terminet' syarikat Redland?

Dengar cerita puluhan juta ringgit (lebih RM40 juta?) juga dapat kepada 'consultant' terutamanya kepada Pemimpin BN Kelantan untuk digunakan dalam pilihanraya lalu. Majlis perasmian saja termasuk 'sign board' dekat dengan beratus ribu ringgit. Setakat letak batu bata atas pasir dan letak tiang untuk pailing lebih kurang, lepas tu tinggal begitu. Banyak la kontraktor buleh buat macam tu.

Fikirlah sikit Tan Sri. Sekali fikir, hujah Tan Sri kadangkala nampak cerdik tapi dangkal. Sebab lawan Aziz Kadir pun kalah di Parlimen Ketereh pada pilihanraya 2008 lalu. Barangkali rakyat bawah (kawasan Parlimen Ketereh) dah tahu kes puluhan juta untuk projek PPRT.

Sekarang sosek-sosek di Kuala Lumpur dan Putrajaya, supaya kerajaan tambah lagi peruntukan projek ni bagi meneruskan. Kasihan kepada Datuk Ismail Hassan (boss Redland), duit habis bagi komisen kepada si 'pelahak duit' (sebab tak pernah cukup). Ha sekarang Datuk Ismail (dulu jadi kawan juga masa belajar di UKM) pun dah kena gantung Ahli Umno.

Saya dah beritahu kepada Dato' Kamarudin Jaffar, Ahli Parlimen Tumpat supaya tanya soalan dalam Parlimen mengenai perkembangan Projek Jambatan ni. Mungkin mulai sidang selepas 13 Oktober ni Menteri Kerjaraya, Dato Mohd Zin yang ganti Samy Vellu akan jawab persoalan ni.

Cuma kita terasa sikit teguran Tok Gurunya, Tok Guru tidak senarai pendekkan contoh projek-projek besar kerajaan Persekutuan (mungkin senarai pendek ada dengannya). Tok Guru hanya memberikan faktor-faktor kenapa projek kerajaan persekutuan gagal, antaranya projek diberi kepada mereka (kontraktor) yang sama parti, pemberian projek tidak telus, projek diberi kepada yang bukar pakar.

Sambil tu Annuar Musa kena tengok projek lembah Sireh (projek kerajaan negeri), pembangunan sedang pesat, tak dak bunyi tergendala. Adakah projek tu buleh ke worih warah Tok Guru. Barangkali Annuar Musa dok ambil cerita dalam blog MSO buat hujah.... aah penatlah macam tu gak.

Berhujah dalam DUN Kelantan dulu (semasa jadi Ketua Pembangkang/ ADUN) mudah dipatahkan oleh Exco-Exco Kerajaan Kelantan semasa itu Husam Musa, Nik Amar, Anuar Tan dan Takiyuddin Hassan. Sekarang berkokok pula tapi punggung penuh dengan tahi.

Pemimpin Umno Pusat kena fikir, Annuar Musa hanya layak jaga persatuan bolasepak rupanya.

No, the real problem with both of those synopses is that they are stalled at the places they are because I don't know what comes next, and usually that situation doesn't improve with me staring at a screen. Plus, I know that I need to focus on one of them and put the other one on the back burner--I have never successfully written two books at once. But I can't really decide which book I want to write first. The lazy part of me says, "Well, write the easy one first."

Except there isn't really an easy one. GR is full of experimentation, not in the general sense but for me specifically, as it's sort of epic in scale and will involve a third person omniscient point of view, which I've never successfully used before--I usually write in the first person, I don't know why, I just do. But because of the aforementioned epicness of the story, it's sort of necessary to be able to follow a lot of people at once. It's also not a mystery in as traditional a sense as AUT and MB (and my other planned novel, SM) are. I think there will be at least one puzzle and a lot of mysterious happenings that the characters will have to figure out, kind of like Lost I'd imagine, if I watched Lost. Hmm, maybe I should start watching Lost...

SM is a whole other animal. In all outward appearances, it will be a lot like AUT and MB, but closer to AUT in tone, because I meant MB to be lighter, for my sanity if for nothing else, but with SM I want to go back into the darkness (same with GR, but in a different way). But there is a little technique I hope to use in writing SM which may completely backfire on me and not work and be a total disaster and kill my writing career (the melodrama, she is my friend), but if it works it will be AWESOME. Also, it will be very difficult to pull off, which is why SM is, in a different way from GR, not the easy option.

Except, it's the one I'm drawn to in this particular moment, the one I want to plot out because I think plotting it will be easier than plotting GR and that's what stage I'm in with both of these right now, but I think actually writing GR will be easier. As for manuscript progress, I have three pages of GR, and three pages and a sentence of Chapter One of SM. That makes them equal in pretty much every respect. Sigh. Well, at least neither of them are contracted and I don't have to decide today. How very Scarlet O'Hara of me.

Menteri Besar Pahang itu berkata fenomena menawarkan diri bagi merebut jawatan tertinggi sejak kebelakangan ini menunjukkan seolah-olah Umno adalah satu tempat untuk memperjuangkan kepentingan diri masing-masing.

"Bagi saya ini satu trend yang tidak begitu sihat...seolaholah kita begitu menggelabah untuk mengejar kedudukan tanpa memikirkan kesan pada parti.

"Kita harus ingat bahawa sebahagian besar rakyat Malaysia termasuk pengundi bukan ahli Umno dan ini bermakna sokongan mereka yang bukan ahli Umno tidak kurang pentingnya," katanya kepada pemberita ketika diminta mengulas berhubung tindakan beberapa pemimpin Umno menawar diri untuk jawatan tertinggi parti pada pemilihan Mac depan.

Beliau berkata jika haluan itu berterusan, ia dikhuatiri akan menyebabkan rakyat meluat dengan Umno yang seterusnya dizahirkan pada Pilihan Raya Umum ke13 akan datang.

Youtube ha multiplicado por diez su capacidad de subida. Y por partida doble. Por un lado, si hasta ahora debíamos subir los vídeos uno a uno, ahora se podrán subir diez al mismo tiempo. Y por el otro, el tamaño máximo de cada vídeo pasa de 100 MB a 1 GB.

Otra funcionalidad que incorpora es ir rellenando la información relativa a cada vídeo, como Nombre, descripción, tags, mientras se están subiendo, lo que es todo un acierto pues así matas el rato mientras suben tus últimas creaciones.

JAY KAY! But it is a bit scary nonetheless, to feel like you've done pretty good work and then to remind yourself that you've been living in this book for a year, that maybe you just can't see how irredeemably terrible it actually is. Let's hope that's not the case, okay? Fingers crossed.

I've sent the manuscript off to Joanna. Here's hoping two things: 1. that she loves it, and 2. that I managed to get rid of all the track changes Nope, whoops, I so did not do that, had to accept all the changes and resend. Anyway, here's hoping that she loves it!

• People say things "in unison" about a squillion times in MB. How ridiculous! This wasn't a problem with AUT, but it is really a problem here. WTF? I am getting rid of these, don't you worry.

• I am a rock star plotter. That is a very self-congratulatory thing to say about myself, but I don't care. I did a nice job plotting this book and I'm really proud of that, considering how not plotting AUT made editing it a total nightmare. Plus, I think it's good to give yourself compliments about your own work sometimes, because most of your time as a writer is taken up with lamenting what a huge failure you are and how you're a talentless hack who nobody would ever want to read. It's nice to think you do something well for a change.

• I still love MB. Try as I might to distance myself from it and hate it so I can eviscerate it, I actually think I did a pretty good job with this one. It was a dream to write, and now it's a dream to revise. I will probably say the exact opposite in a couple of months when I get editorial notes on it, but right now I'm very happy with what I've done with this book. I'm nervous that my agent and/or editor will doubt it, because it's not the same as AUT. It's not as dark (although it manages to be dark at times), it's got a lot more comedy, it's got a romance, and it's definitely not as bleak. It's also less complicated, because there's only one narrator and one timeline (AUT has two of each). I'm afraid people will expect my second book to be as epic as my first, but I didn't want to write an epic book the second time around. I'll save that for my third (or fourth, I haven't decided in what order I'm going to write GR and SM in), because what I have planned for GR is EPIC and I'm going to need some serious time and space to write that thing.

So, yeah. Thoughts from my revisions-fevered mind. I'm at page 181 now! That's almost 100 pages from the end. Go me!

I didn't do a lick of work yesterday. That is the most disappointing part. Instead, I watched three episodes of Dexter Season 2, an episode and a half of Pushing Daisies, read a bunch of blogs, downloaded music, and continued to read Donna Tartt's The Secret History. Then I went out to a bar on 36th Street to watch USC kick the crap out of the University of Oregon Ducks, which was VERY VERY GRATIFYING, even though Oregon isn't nearly as good as SC, because the Trojans whoopsed it last week and lost to the UNRANKED Oregon State team, which was totes humiliating.

I'm now 150 pages into my 288 page manuscript, so technically that means if I put my nose to the proverbial grindstone I could be done by the end of tonight. If I can force my fingers to the keyboard. I'm not really good at the whole turning off the Internet to get more work done thing. I'm also not good at saying no to social engagements, although I'm getting better at going home at a reasonable hour. (Although "reasonable hour" usually means "still getting home at 2 AM" but it's not for lack of trying, the trains are just all absurd on the weekends and it takes forever!)

Oh, and I saw Chris March AGAIN last night. He is stalking me.
