: The Nike Air Yeezy seems to be the most talked about shoe which is a joint project between hip-hop artist Kanye West and Nike. His unique style is definitely seen on his first signature shoe. Featured is a mixture of perforated and patent leather which is applied to the upper and strap. In addition, a subtle color-way finishes the shoe. However, this would not be a Kanye West shoe if it didn’t have the ability to glow in the dark, one thing that is most commonly connected with Kanye West’s performances and concerts. South Side for Obama T-Shirts

A couple of weeks ago our friend Michelle dropped in on us from Seattle. It was at Michelle & David's place that we stayed during our brief trip there this past May. Anyway, Michelle and David live in Ballard, and she brought with her a gift for us: "Ballard for Obama" T-shirts! "Wow, what a great idea!" I thought. Then I told my wife, "We should do something like this for south St. Louis." So I did. I whipped up a design featuring Barack Obama's official Senate profile photo and put the Bevo Mill and a fleur-de-lis on it. At first, I had "South St. Louis" for Obama, but then changed it to "South Side" on the recommendation of a friend, neighbor and Obama supporter, Ed Martin, because, as he put it, it's more colloquial. OK, can't argue with that! "South Side for Obama" it is. House of Eight Legs screenprinting is printing them up and have done two rounds of shirts for me thus far. If you'd like to order one, please use the PayPal button on the official SS4O Myspace page or shoot me an e-mail if you just want to drop by my house with a wad of cash (they're $12 each). We have internet, TV, and phone again at the house (Verizon FIOS - blazing FAST!)... and even though there is STILL a lot of cardboard, we are beginning to settle in at our new home. Amazing how much energy that all takes! Here is a pic of our new home - which is slowly becoming ours

I also posted a new picture... as I have grown a beard over the last three weeks. I have never had a full face beard before, but I think I like it... even if one friend calls me "Grizzly Adams" :) It grew relatively fast, and I found I could keep it from itching by shampooing it with dandruff shampoo. Once a day, and there was no itching as it grew! I am still shaving my head, as I hate paying for haircuts. But if I stopped shaving my head daily, I would soon have a full head of hair as well.

marchesa spring 2009

yesterday, style.com posted marchesa's spring 2009 collection, and as usual, it was a hit for me. as i mentioned in a previous post, marchesa collections are always grace and glamour combined. their spring 09 pieces were no different, except that they went above and beyond any expectation i had by offering magical, fairytale-like dresses that epitomized their glamour and grace aesthetic. rounding out the collection were short, mini dresses that packed just as much design detail as the evening gowns did. some of them had edgy, tough details, giving the romantic fabrics and draping a new look. the collection also featured an exqusitie one shouldered black lace gown - a personal favorite of mine. everyone has been talking about lace since seeing it used in prada's fall 2008 collection, and marchesa did its part in bringing lace back with this dress. it's romantic yet tough and gothic yet princess-like. it perfectly represents the appeal of the yin & yang, and its staying power in the world of fashion.

many designers have featured this opposties attract concept in their collections at new york fashion week so far, but for now, back to marchesa and their exceptionally glamorous looks...

So, I don't really have a tv that I watch. Don't have cable, & never really there to watch anything, so I didn't know I missed the VMAs yesterday till I watched the news this morn. So, of course, I've been looking at pix online for the last hour.

I really don't like when boy's pants aren't pulled up. I'm not askin for Urkel here, but I just don't like the low-riding pants. It's a lil gay, don't cha think? (I mean that in the best possible way.)

AUGH! I can NOT stand lil Wayne. He seriously makes me want to rip off my ears, & now my eyes. He's wearing an MLK shirt? For reals?!?! I'm so sick of him. I would love to meet him so that I can smack him (seriously, right across the face) & tell him to never EVER compare himself to MLK Jr. EVER again. I'm not a hostile person, but I really can't stand him. And pull your pants up, punk.

Chris Brown can wear whatever he wants. He's a good, young, clean kid from the streets of Philly who stayed focused on his goals, & got to where he is with a bit of luck & a ton of hard work. The boy can dance his butt off. I hope he stays grounded & on top.

David Banner - stupid is as stupid does.

I hate mermaidy dresses. But I love Christina (Xtina if ya will). So, I'm just turning my head at that one. Everyone's allowed a pass.
