Sambata seara, pe la ora 20 am mers in centrul istoric, pentru a-l vedea pe Costel Busuioc. Credeti-ma ca a meritat. Ca orice mare artist, s-a lasat asteptat aprox. 30 de minute...cam putin, tinand cont ca Rbd, au intarziat 2 ore. :)

O mare de oameni au stat sa-l asculte pe Pavarotti din Carpati. Cei care erau in dreapta scenei, vroiau sa ajunga in stanga si viceversa. S-au imbrancit, s-au calcat pe picioare si chiar au urlat unii la altii. La un momentdat am auzit din multime "nu va mai imbranciti, ca nu se dau mici pe gratis!"  :) Cel care a strigat nu cred ca vazuse ca in capatul strazii, se vindeau mititei si must. :)

Dupa ce s-a terminat recditalul lui Costel, am plecat spre muzeul de istorie. Pe drum am mai dat de o mare de oameni, care se adunasera sa-l vada pe Mihai Margineanu. Am stat cam o jumatate de ora  sa-l ascultam, si am ras copios.

Noaptea alba, a fost putin cam gri, :) cel putin pentru muzeul de istorie care s-a inchis la 21:30 cu toate ca la stiri, se anunta cu surle si trambite ca toate muzeele vor fi deschise pana la ora 3:00 asa ca am plecat spre parcul Izvor, la concertul lui Bryan Adams. A fost primul concert (al unui artist strain) la care am fost, si mi s-a parut grozav. Pe deasupra, m-am ales si cu 3 melodii pe care le-am invatat deja pe derost, "Everything I do", "Baby when you're gone" si "Summer of 69".

(સાંભળ્યા તો ઘણા હતા, એમ એસ યુનિ. ના મ્યુઝિકલ મોર્નિંગ માં કે રોક કોન્સર્ટસ માં પણ ફક્ત મ્યુઝિક અને તાલ, શબ્દો નહીં) તેનો ભાવાનુવાદ મેં ત્યારેજ કરેલો, અકસ્માત મારા હાથમાં જૂની ડાયરી આવી તેમાં થી મળી આવ્યો, આ એક હોબી થઈ ગઈ છે. અને આમ મેં મારા મનગમતા ઘણા અંગ્રેજી ગીતોનો ગુજરાતી ભાવાનુવાદ લખ્યો છે. મને લાગે છે કે જો તમે ગીતનો અર્થ સમજતા હોવ તો તેની સાથે વધારે તાદામ્ય કેળવી શકો અને સરસ રીતે ગાઈ શકો...એક અનોખો આનંદ આવે કારણકે તમને ખબર છે કે તમે શું સાંભળી રહ્યા છો કે ગાઈ રહ્યા છો. ટૂંકમાં તમને ગીતનો હાર્દ ખબર હોય છે.

બેકસ્ટ્રીટ બોયઝનું ક્વિટ પ્લેયિંગ ગેમ્સ વિથ માય હાર્ટ ( મારા હૈયા સાથે રમતો રમવાનું છોડી દો...) હોય કે એનરીક ઈગ્લેશીયસનું હીરો, કે સેલીન ડાયોન નું ધેટ્સ ધ વે ઈટ ઈઝ, ઘણા ભાવાનુવાદ લખ્યા છે, અને એમાં થી એક અહીં ઉપર મૂક્યો છે. આશા છે આપ સૌને એ ગમશે. આવા બીજા કોઈ અંગ્રેજી ગીતના ભાવાનુવાદ આપને જોઈતા હોય તો કહેજો....મારી ડાયરી માંથી મળી જ આવશે...

Here comes our TV Spot project - final group assignment on Digital Visual Effects subject. We had to group up and shoot a real video footage (of persons/objects), then create an 3D background or elements to blend with it.

The important key to this project are the compositing of 3D environment + real video footage, and also the interactivity between the them. In short, everything must look believable with combination of dynamics, particles and sound effects.

Okay for this project, we bought materials and made up this plush toy using sock and etc, and shoot it in the Greenscreen Studio. We spent nearly 90% on ROTOSCOPING than doing other parts! I will NOT forget the day when we needed to clean the edges of Ah Pet (name of that freaking sock monster), gosh I can't really recall how unbearable it was!!! *cries*

It took us very, very long to clean the edges - something which I thought could be quickly done. And without my group-mates' help I think I am already dead now. (My right hand died that night!!!)

So while watching this video, you shall also appreciate the hard work behind it alright!

Check, check, check. Okay I guess I got it all, except for that freaking overlay! I screwed it! And most importantly I did not have time to do more marker renderings for my A3 portfolio folder! That is what most painful! *sobs*

I really hope I'm still in the safe zone, wuaaaaaaaaaaaaa I am not sure! :( Anyway, glad to know Rong and I got the highest marks for the midterm submission, so yeah! :D I was extremely excited to see all selected good pieces (for final submission) are from our own gang of friends, seriously man - except for a girl who got highest mark for it. And after that we got to present in front of whole class, while Mr. Rong was busy helping our lecturer with the camera! XD

Okay now we are graduated from Storyboard Class! :)

I was super busy with all those final assignments lately. What I'm gonna show here is our group's final assignment on Audio Design subject, done in this semester!

We were supplied with a short video file (approximately 1:30 - 2:00 minutes ) which audio has been deleted, and we needed to incorporate new sound effects, background music and voice-overs to this video using library and new recorded materials.

So we actually booked the recording studio with lecturers prior to connecting our recording sessions. Since the requirement sheet stated that a totally new background music track for the clip will be given extra marks, we have gotten a really kind friend to help us with that - thanks to our junior, Chang Shen the pianist! (now you may admire his composition for Adidas clip) :D

We were also required to to submit the new script added to the clip, like the voice-over, narration or dialogs. So all in all we must have human voice, music, sound effects, and lastly environment or location sound. Proud to say we have gotten a great help from Renukkah and Arun as our voice-over talents, for the FCUK clip right after Adidas ad! Hearing back their original tracks now it's so freaking funny! I was actually the one suggested to use Tamil style as our concept, didn't know it'd actually work well!

Thanks to my group mates who have contributed other crazy ideas man I love them! I would like to apologize for not attending the draft presentation (when we needed to show our log sheet) due to internship interview, and also the final compositing meeting because I was dead-in-sleep! Sobs, please forgive me! :) Well, below are some details you might be interested in...

The two stages of this project are:

1. Draft presentation (Part I) - 10%
2. Final presentation (Part ll) - 15%

Plus a 5% for our submission, it is 30% in total.

Here is the grading criteria of this final project:

• Voice-overs - clarity & voice acting
• Sound effects (SFX) - appropriateness & roles

Here is my midterm test's submission for Storyboard class. We were free to use any rendering methods that are being taught in the class, so I chose marker rendering as I am still very fresh to it... just wanted to try something new and challenge myself. I have picked one of the given topics, "a journey of my dream" as my choice for this test, and I actually referred to my favorite movie "MirrorMask" as it is all about a dream. It took me longer than how I expected it to be completed - even exceed the given duration! :P

This assignment was to create a short clip of promoting an organization. We did not really divide our tasks evenly as we were lack of time (due to the change of entire ideation and concept), but we did manage to do the jobs according to each member's capability.

As usual I was the one who does the storyboard besides contributing to the ideation of certain important elements (like the "SPCA" elements) and also the illustration of the scene elements in Adobe Photoshop.

Although we were exhausted, it is a fact that we had a wonderful time working together! :)

I took full responsibility on the storyboard presentation during preproduction stage, and the position of Art Director during production stage. We learned so much during the process of production period - from team work to technical work, it was such a great experience! :)

The objective of this assignment is to let us learn how to make an improvement without changing the big idea of the original advertisement. Thus I actually maintained the Hawaii tree, the banana and the drink. I emphasized the idea of "banana" by adding a monkey for a more interesting sense. Besides, I also change the look of the tree and banana and text. I played with the color contrast so it would look more outstanding and appealing.

Our final project was about model shooting which must fulfill the "rule of thirds" principle. Every assignment was individual and was super exciting! Anyway I have not really explored much on all functions of my NIKON D70S, will do it only when I am absolutely free! :)

Every sound, thought, and deed should be made to honor God alone. Don't forget that you are witnesses, ambassadors of God.
