Ellen Pompeo actriţa care o interpretează pe Meredith Grey este în momentul de faţă una din multele vedete care sunt implicate în campania prezidenţială din SUA. Ea încurajează tinerii să meargă la vot şi dacă s-ar putea să îl voteze pe Barack Obama. Dacă aş fi fost americancă cu siguranţă l-aş fi votat pe Obama şi asta fără să fie nevoie de sfatul unei vedete.

Oricum ar fi interesant dacă vedetele de la noi s-ar implica în politică în genul celor de peste Ocean. Dar dacă ar face asta probabil nu ar mai câştiga atâţia bani din campaniile electorale.

3 femei într-o limuzină au rolul, chipurile, de a anima plictiseala din spital. Drept vorbind nu prea reuşesc. Nu sunt cazuri deosebite din punct de vedere medical în acest episod. Momentul medical de vârf a fost acela în care medicii din Seattle Grace au reuşit să facă un om să meargă prin hipotermie.

Acum vă spun ce s-a mai întâmplat cu personajele. McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey) simte pe pielea lui(la propriu) ce înseamnă să îi dai papucii unei asistente, asta pentru că Rose nu suportă faptul că Derek a minţit-o în ceea ce priveşte sentimentele lui pentru Meredith (Ellen Pompeo). Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) se chinuieşte tot episodul să îi spună lui George (T.R. Knight) că îl iubeşte, asta provoacă momente semi-amuzante care îl implică şi pe Dr. Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) care altfel nu ar fi apărut deloc pe ecran. George  ar trebui să îşi dea examenul de rezidenţă din nou, dar până la sfârşit nu m-am lămurit cum stă treabă în acest caz. Alex (Justin Chambers) şi cu Izzie (Katherine Heigl) par a fi pe calea cea bună, însă Alex rămâne Alex.  Callie (Sara Ramirez) şi Erica Hahn (Brooke Smith) reuşesc să treacă peste situaţia ciudată în care au ajuns. Christina Yang (Sandra Oh) este poate singura care are parte de ceva acţiune odată cu apariţia episodică a doctorului militar, Maiorul Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd).

Concluzie: La sfarsitul episodului mi-as fi dorit ca Maiorul Hunt sa fie acel personaj care lipseste serialului de la plecarea lui Burke si lui Addison. Sper ca treburile sa devina mai dinamice cum erau la inceput. Alex Karev is still hot!!

Grey's Anatomy este un serial american lansat în martie 2005. Titlul este inspirat de un tratat de medicină numit Gray's Anatomy scris de Henry Gray. Personajul principal este Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo). Aceasta este intern la secţia de chirurgie a spitalului Seattle Grace. Povestea ei de dragoste cu Dr. Shepard(Patrick Dempsey)  este de fapt povestea centrală a serialului. În prezent se difuzează a 5 serie în America în România a treia sau a patra cred.

Asta doar aşa pentru necunoscători. Mai multe informaţii oricum se găsesc pe Wikipedia.

Părerea mea despre serial este una în general bună. Doar că este un serial! aşa că esenţa se diluează cu fiecare sezon şi devine din ce în ce mai tras de păr.

Primul sezon a fost excelent cu 9 episoade care erau atât de pline de acţiune încât aveai impresia ca te uitai 2 ore nu 50 de minute.

Seria a doua a fost reuşită mai ales datorită relaţiei Izzie- Denny care a avut un sfârşit incredibil de trist şi emoţionant.

Seria a treia a însemnat începutul diluarii şi plecarea a două personaje importante care contribuiau mult la valoarea serialului.

Seria a patra a stat sub semnul grevei scenariştilor, iar personajele noi nu reuşesc nici pe departe să fie la fel de spumoase că cele care au plecat.

Seria a cincea a început pe 25 septembrie cu un episod de două ore.

Aceasta a fost doar introducerea.

Introdução

E assim chegamos a mais uma temporada.

Tema/história

Sonhos. Finais felizes. Finais não tão felizes. Possibilidades de atingir a felicidade. Amizade. Possibilidades de ser "feliz para sempre". São estes os temas para o primeiro episódio da 5ª temporada, e talvez mesmo para a temporada. “A realidade é muito mais assustadora...”

Existem três sequências de sonhos, sendo o primeiro, um pesadelo. Um pesadelo de Mer, (Ellen Pompeo) mostrando-nos o seu maior receio, o seu maior medo. Mostram-nos Derek (Patrick Dempsey) a morrer. O principal destaque que tenho a apontar para este "sonho" é mesmo a excelente actuação de Ellen Pompeo, a actriz que dá vida a Meredith Grey.

O segundo sonho é a coisa mais hilariante que já viram. Provavelmente. Assistimos, no sonho de Cristina (Sandra Oh), ela mesma e Mer numa espécie de "futuro". Foi uma óptima cena, bastante engraçada e divertida, que até fez pensar se estas duas acabarão assim num futuro mais distante.

O terceiro e último sonho é o de Izzie (Katherine Heigl), mostrando-nos o final feliz que ela poderia ter tido. Com Denny (participação de Jeffrey Dean Morgan , P.S. - I Love You). Izzie conseguiu mostrar o seu vestido a Denny. E, talvez assim, poderiam ter sido felizes para sempre. Denny diz que ela está mais bonita que uma noiva. Será que posso ser o noivo? Agora mais a sério, é pena que Izzie não possa ser feliz com ele. Porque ela merece. É pena que Izzie não tenha tido o seu final feliz. É triste. Mas assim é a vida.

Estava à espera de mais sequências de sonhos, mas gostei bastante dos que vi e com a maneira de como foram inseridos. Revelam algo das personagens. Dos seus sonhos, dos seus pesadelos, dos seus desejos, dos seus medos.

E o hospital Seattle Grace desceu nos rankings de melhor hospital. Para número 12. Será isto uma metáfora para o que se passa "na vida real" com esta série? No entanto, deverá ser bastante interessante o que isso irá proporcionar a nível da história, já que só neste episódio já trouxe bastante agitação.

Personagens

Mer e Derek estão a resolver as suas coisas e a ficarem juntos de vez. Mas devagar, apesar de Derek ir viver com Mer. Devo ser dos muito poucos fãs que não dão muita importância ao casal ou casais, mas ainda bem que decidiram ficar juntos. Parou daquele avanço e recuo. Já chega. Mas Mer continua nervosa e indecisa sobre a relação. É normal que ela continua assim, pois umas quantas consultas em terapia não resolveriam os seus problemas. Mas, mesmo não gostando dessas atitudes, não seria a Meredith se ela não reagisse assim. Mer é mesmo assim. O que há para dizer mais? Rose (participação de Lauren Stamile; Centro e Arredores) saiu. Até gostei da maneira como a tiraram da série, sem grandes dramas (apesar daquele "corte"), numa saída mais amigável.

Cristina rouba muitas cenas durante o episódio. Ainda bem, porque a personagem assim o merece. Parece que vai ter um novo romance com Owen Hunt (participação de Kevin McKidd; Journeyman e Roma) (apesar de este ir embora no fim do episódio), e este relacionamento deverá ser interessante. Para já, a nova personagem parece ser uma boa adição para a série, já que poderá agitar um pouco a vida de Cristina. Mas não lhe mudem de personalidade, por favor. Cristina também passa uma boa parte do episódio a ouvir Mer sobre as suas incertezas de ir viver com Derek e etc. Cristina diz a Mer tudo o que nós queremos-lhe dizer. Falo por mim. Achei pertinente e o que ela disse era preciso de ser dito. Era altura de falarem. Mas ainda bem que Cristina continua a apoiá-la. Pois Mer precisa de Cristina e vice-versa. Pois elas são melhores amigas. Melhores amigas no mundo inteiro. Pena que Izzie não faça parte disso. Em relação à história do pedaço de gelo... foi engraçado de se ver.

Alex (Justin Chambers) e Izzie são bons amigos durante o episódio. Bem, pelo menos até parte. Até quando Alex é visto como um homem "meigo". E daí, fica chateado com Izzie. E no fim do episódio, Izzie vê Alex com outra mulher. Como se fosse para provocá-la. E mesmo que a "nova amiga" do Alex pareça bastante atraente de costas, tive realmente pena da Izzie. Izz merece um pouco de felicidade. A sério. Ao menos, gostei de vê-la a tratar e a interagir bem com os seus pacientes, como antes o fazia.

George (T.R. Knight) continua um interno, pois ainda não teve tempo para fazer o teste, devido a esta confusão toda que se passou no episódio. E Lexie (Chyler Leigh). Pobre da Lexie. Que está apaixonada por George e ele não percebe. Para ele, Lexie é capaz de ser a sua melhor amiga. Como gostar de alguém e não ser correspondido deve doer. Mas como Mark (Eric Dane) disse-lhe, a vida é demasiado curta e Lex deve dizer a George o que sente.

Callie (Sara Ramirez) e Hahn (Brooke Smith) (que está a tentar ser uma professora melhor) tentam evitar-se. Talvez por causa de um beijo que partilharam, diria eu. Mas no fim, tiveram uma cena engraçada em que falaram as duas. Sobre tudo o que aconteceu. Elas são completamente novas "nisto". São "virgens". Acho que será bastante engraçado como a relação delas irá evoluir.

Por agora não sabemos como vai a relação de Bailey (Chandra Wilson) com o seu marido e a relação de Richard (James Pickens Jr.) com Adele. Mas talvez esteja tudo a correr melhor. Bailey continua a Bailey de sempre, e continuando também a preocupar-se com os seus pacientes. E aquela cena de ela e do Alex em relação ao mudar as horas do relógio está excelente. No entanto, vemos um outro lado de Richard. Um lado mais zangado e frustrado. Ele está zangado com tudo e todos. Mas ele percebe que a culpa do hospital ter descido nos rankings é de ele e de todos. E ele toma uma decisão. Decide melhorar. O discurso dele no fim mostra-nos que todos eles vão ser melhores do que nunca.

Casos médicos

O caso médico talvez seja a parte mais negativa do episódio. Talvez tenha sido pouco interessante, quando podiam ter criado histórias mirabolantes relacionados com o tema. Eu percebi o que a escritora queria mostrar com este caso. Queria evidenciar o tema do episódio, como a amizade entre as amigas, como o perdão e como a esperança de que tudo iria correr bem, relacionando-se bem com as personagens neste episódio. Mas sinto falta daqueles casos médicos fora do vulgar, que são divertidos, interessantes e emocionantes. E nada aborrecidos. No entanto, houve uma parte que gostei. Umas das senhoras que esteve no acidente, ficou amnésica e lembrava-se de tudo até ao acidente de 30 em 30 segundos. A parte de gostei foi quando Izzie, criou para a senhora, o seu final feliz. Mesmo que tenha sido mentira, já que o seu marido morrera no outro acidente. Ao menos fê-la feliz, por 30 segundos.

Hah! Take that Republicans! Who do you have doing this kind of thing? Blair from Facts of Life? Top Blonde once laughed when she saw the Repubs feature "Blair" as their "celebrity" at an event in DC many moons ago.

Whether positive or negative, everybody seems to have something to say about ABC’s smash medical drama hit Grey’s Anatomy.

I fall into the generally positive crowd, as I really dig the show on a consistent basis, but I don’t put enough real emotion into it so as to get very angry when it falters. I consider it a guilty pleasure, and I don’t mind if the episodes stack up on my DVR, since if I’m in a pretty bad mood or just generally stressed I can watch four episodes in a row and get all my tears and frustration out of me. (Basically, no matter what is going on in my life, at least I’m not in the hospital with some rare organ disease. Hey, it cheers me up.) I don’t pretend like it’s A-list television drama, but I’m glad it has caught on in the wake of ER’s death rattle (i.e. any ER season since the new millennium).

I also don’t even mind Dr. Meredith Grey complaining nonstop every week, because that’s her character. It may grate, but that’s who she is, and I find her a good dramatic foil to pretty much everything else that goes on at Seattle Grace. And hey, whenever she gets too obnoxious, something happens like in this s5 premiere when Dr. Cristina Yang finally tells her to shut up about Dr. Derek Shepherd, shut up about your insecurities, shut up about your dead mother, and realize that things can’t always go your way.

Tonight’s two-part episode focused on Seattle Grace’s fall from…grace…as it plummeted to #12 in the rankings of teaching hospitals, losing to competitors both old and new. Chief Webber was infuriated by the news, going through the five stages of denial, at the end of the episode finally accepting the hospital’s shortcomings and confronting his staff with their poor performance, both in surgery and in education. His rage throughout the episode was abrupt, as his character tends to be quiet in his anger and judgment, but you can’t blame him for feeling some of the sting of his separation from his wife Adele.

The rest of the hospital did not take the ranking news lightly, so Bailey gathered the main characters to wait outside for any emergency to come their way, ready to show their talents to whatever ailments may arrive. Up pulls a limo holding three middle-aged women who were on their way to a Fire & Ice Ball when their limo skidded on black ice – you see, it’s ironic! – and caused major damage. Two of these women were Kathy Baker – who I will never forgive for getting the Best Actress Emmy that should have gone to the far more deserving Claire Danes for My So-Called Life way back in the 1990s – and Broadway legend Bernadette Peters (a.ka. the Bern). Turns out that Baker has been sleeping with the Bern’s husband, and both have been keeping his eight-months-earlier job termination from her. Now, I understand that sometimes marriages can go cold and sometimes a guy just needs another woman, but you do not cheat with Kathy Baker if the Bern is your wife. There’s no contest whatsoever.

The women’s respective husbands also got into a limo crash across town, and the staff basically cheats the system and gets the husbands moved from a competing hospital to Grace. That’s when everything gets tragically wacky. One husband dies, another is paralyzed and the third (the cheating one) severs his vocal chords so when the adultery comes out into the open, through the Bern’s sudden realization that they are broke and their insurance expires at midnight that night, he has to apologize by note and get Lexi (a.k.a. Mini-Grey) to read the note aloud. At the end, everything is (sort of) fine with the couple, but they have one more tragedy to contend with:

The third woman – as in the one actress I can’t identify without checking the Internet – got such a bad head injury that that every 30 seconds her brain resets and has to ask where she is and where her (dead) husband is. I know it’s medically feasible, but I could only think of an improv exercise of Party Quirks from high school drama class where I had to have that very same malady and get my peer to guess who/what I was trying to be. Yeah, not exactly the kind of thoughts I think Shonda Rhimes had in mind when she wrote this episode.

The recurring amnesia was a little too campy for its own good, but it did bring a good laugh from Dr. Karev when, while undergoing a CT scan and asking for the umpteenth time where she is, he replies:

“You’re in a spaceship. You’re going to the moon. Enjoy the ride.” – Dr. Alex Karev

The real important introduction of the night, though, was Kevin McKidd as Major Hunt, a.k.a. Major Badass, came in with an emergency case and proceeded to perform better medicine under pressure than any of the main characters. Hell, he frickin’ staples his own wound shut without any anesthesia, pulls out the icicle that non-fatally impaled Dr. Yang in the belly – oh yeah, that happened – then macks on her, and is finally offered a position at the hospital. He turns it down, but we all know he’ll stick around. Because what else does he have to do. After doing his final jump into the past from San Francisco – see Journeyman – McKidd happened to end up as a Roman Centurion name Lucius Veronus (Rome) and become extremely badass, then traveled back to 21st-century Seattle to bring his badassery to the Army and, ultimately, the hospital and Yang’s love life.

Other items of note:

• Straightlaced Dr. Bailey finally learned that breaking the rules can lead to some good, as she cheats the insurance expiration and performs surgery on the patient after the deadline.
• Mini-Grey needs to stop freaking out that George once had sex with her step-sister Meredith. That was the old George. This is the new George. Leave it alone.
• Nurse Rose needs to leave the show now. After four seasons, I am done with anything getting in the way of a Meredith-Derek happily-ever-after. It’s old news. Move on.
• Yang's hallucination of Future Meredith and Future Cristina was hilarious. If the show is ever waning, they could pull a Desperate Housewives and shift the action 40 years into the future.
  
• For those of you self-righteous talkbackers online on other TV blogs who have proclaimed that they will no longer be watching the show now that Callie and Dr. Hahn are having a sinful lesbian relationship, let me just say this: clearly, the show was never meant for you. You are not its target audience. I’m sorry you’ve wasted your time with such “baseless” television. I respect your right to hold your beliefs, but anyone who suffers from homophobia (or whatever you want to call it) has plenty of other shows from which to choose. Me? I love what the relationship has done for stressed-out Callie and the bossy Dr. Hahn. I think it’s very sweet and very progressive. Welcome to the new century.

A quinta temporada está a chegar. Nem parece que já chegámos tão longe. E como é óbvio, queremos continuar a acompanhar as nossas personagens nesta jornada que cada uma delas está a seguir. Com os seus altos e baixos.

4ª Temporada, segunda parte
(com spoilers)

A quarta temporada é sobre mudanças. Sobre novos inícios. E na primeira parte desta temporada, vimos isso mesmo, e claro, ao mesmo tempo, continuou a mostrar-nos algumas mesmas histórias. Vimos personagens mudadas, com outro estado de espírito. Muita coisa mudou. E talvez por isso (ou não) é que muitas pessoas consideram esta temporada fraca. Eu acho que não. Acho que as personagens estavam numa fase menos boa. Numa fase confusa onde cometem erros. Mas a maior crítica que ponho são as evoluções dessas mesmas histórias que não avançavam. Mas talvez tenha sido preciso mesmo isso. E por isso, a segunda parte da quarta temporada é sobre esperança. Sobre liberdade (Freedom - nome do episódio final). E vimos os episódios post-strike com outro espírito. Melhores. Vimos Grey’s como antigamente.

Cristina (Sandra Oh) continuou a tentar impressionar Hahn (Brooke Smith) e mesmo assim esta tratava-a como lixo. Desprezava-a. Mas depois descobrimos que Hahn era assim quando era mais nova. Mas sinceramente, não é motivo para a tratar assim. Cristina também deparou-se com a notícia de que Burke ganhou um prémio, que foi graças a ela. Foi um grande episódio para ela, em que mesmo não aparecendo muito, deu um brilharete e demonstrou os verdadeiros sentimentos dela. E por causa disso, andou no episódio seguinte triste e em baixo. Por mais motivos que tivesse, esta não era a Cristina que conhecemos. E por isso, no final, ela libertou-se disso tudo. Voltou a ser a Cristina que sempre foi. E finalmente, mostrou a Hahn a cirurgiã que ela é e mandou-lhe calar. Em plena cirurgia. Foi um grande momento para a personagem. Ah, e assim aprendeu também a tratar menos mal os seus internos, ou pelo menos a Lexie (Chyler Leigh).

Callie (Sara Ramirez). Callie está noutra relação. E com quem menos esperamos: com a Hahn! É algo diferente que vemos dessa personagem. Tudo começou no episódio em que Addison (Kate Walsh) nos fez uma pequena visita e, vendo Callie e Hahn sempre juntas, perguntou se elas eram namoradas. E a partir daí, tudo começou. Callie não queria acreditar que gostava de Hahn e por isso teve uma pequena relação com Mark (Eric Dane). Para tentar confirmar que não sentia nada por ela. Mas claro que não foi bem assim. Graças ao caso médico do episódio final, ela libertou-se de todos os preconceitos e beijou Hahn em frente do hospital. E foi Mark que lhe ajudou. Parece que ele “cresceu”. Em relação a esta relação Callie/Erica, não me importo que continue, desde que expliquem bem esta situação, se Callie já era lésbica/bissexual. Bem, para quem tem fantasias com duas mulheres a beijarem-se, vejam a série!

George (T.R. Knight) recompôs-se. Aos poucos, voltou/está a voltar a ser aquele George de outrora. Libertou-se dos seus problemas e voltou a ser aquela pessoa com outro espírito. E no fim disto tudo, ainda conseguiu convencer o Richard (James Pickens Jr.) a tentar mais uma vez a fazer o teste. Como modo de celebração, deu um beijo a Lexie. E Lexie gostou bastante…

Alex (Justin Chambers), nesta segunda parte, descobre que Ava, quer dizer, Rebecca (Elizabeth Reaser), está grávida. Pelo menos assim ela o pensa, pois na verdade não está. Alex ao inicio, não fica agradado com a ideia de Rebecca estar grávida, mas depois aceita. O problema é que Izzie (Katherine Heigl) descobre que Rebecca está a mentir e que não está grávida. Rebecca apresenta algumas perturbações, como quando Izzie comprovou que não estava grávida, ela começa a chorar e pede desculpas a Alex por ter perdido o bebé, mesmo nós sabendo que nunca existiu bebé nenhum. E aí, ele decide cuidar dela. Izzie não tem realmente uma história nestes episódios post strike, serve mais para dar apoio à história de Alex, mas ao menos Izzie está menos competitiva e menos frustrada, o que é bom. E quando Ava decide cortar os pulsos, Izzie decide pôr um fim nisto, dando uma consulta psiquiátrica a Rebecca. Nisto tudo, descobrimos algo sobre o passado de Alex que ainda não sabíamos: Ele já passou por isto. Aconteceu a mesma coisa com a sua mãe. E por Alex estar triste, como podem ver na imagem, Izzie dorme com ele, por pedido dele. Saiu-lhe a sorte grande… outra vez.

Richard finalmente resolveu os seus problemas com a sua mulher (Loretta Devine). Apareceu à porta da casa deles, falou e ganhou. Ganhou a reconciliação. E Bailey (Chandra Wilson), mesmo continuando com alguns problemas no seu casamento, parece que está tudo a melhorar. E ainda bem. Já chega de drama para ela. E como solução para os seus problemas, para conseguir passar mais tempo com o seu marido (Cress Williams) e filho, decide entregar a clínica a Izzie. Acho que está entregue a muito boas mãos.

Finalmente, aquilo que muitos fãs queriam aconteceu. Mer (Ellen Pompeo) e Derek (Patrick Dempsey) resolveram os seus problemas e voltaram a ficar juntos e de vez. Mas antes, houve “trabalho” a fazer. Principalmente para Mer. Não conseguindo dormir devido ao facto de Derek ter estado com Rose (Lauren Stamile), Meredith decidiu ter consultas com uma psicóloga. E foi a melhor coisa que os escritores da série fizeram. Derek e Mer também começaram uma pesquisa médica onde alguns pacientes com cancro no cérebro foram submetidos a novos tratamentos para ver se conseguíam arranjar uma cura para a doença. Claro que muitos morreram, mas finalmente, no último episódio, conseguíram curar a primeira pessoa. Ao mesmo tempo que isto tudo aconteceu, Mer foi tendo consultas com a Dra. Wyatt (Amy Madigan) e com os seus altos e baixos (pois a psicóloga não fez a vida fácil a Mer), foi tentando resolver os seus problemas. E descobrimos mais uma coisa sobre a personagem: Ellis (Kate Burton) tentou-se “matar” quando Mer ainda era pequena. E à frente dela. Não admira que ela seja assim. Mais uma prova que Mer é uma personagem complexa. E tentando fechar esse assunto definitivamente, tivemos uma cena que marcou. Bastante. Para quem viu o episódio final, com certeza lembra-se de Mer limpar o sangue de Ava na cozinha. Claro que o sangue significava outra coisa. Esta cena valeu tanto… Continuando: Depois de descobrir que a sua mãe queria que ela fosse extraordinária, ela chegou-se à frente e preparou para Derek uma casa de velas. Foi um acto bastante grande para ela. Mas no fim, Derek foi-se embora. Decidiu ir acabar com Rose. Deixando Mer ali, no meio de tantas velas. Mer libertou-se. Ela comprometeu-se para Derek.

5ª Temporada

A temporada anterior acabou de uma maneira que, se calhar, muita gente não esperava que acabasse. Acabou num final “feliz”, ao contrário dos últimos episódios das últimas 2 temporadas. Deu-nos uma sensação que há muito não nos proporcionava. E por isso tudo, é que as expectativas para a 5ª temporada são grandes.

E este é a promo que deu origem a muito falatório sobre Grey’s. Ou porque vimos Derek num estado crítico, ou porque ouvimos Rose a dizer “I’m carrying your child”.

Muita polémica. Aliás, foi tal a polémica que a criadora da série teve que dizer que nada disso iria acontecer, tal qual está no promo. Ainda bem, porque senão a série estaria em grandes sarilhos. Eu gostei bastante da promo, está excelente, bastante boa.

Sneak peek 1

O primeiro sneak peek permitiu-nos ver logo o que os menos fãs queriam ver: Derek a morrer. Sinceramente, nem gosto muito da personagem, mas isso iria causar a morte da série, talvez. Eu digo “iria” porque isso não vai acontecer. O título do primeiro episódio chamar-se-á “Dream a Little Dream of Me”. Por isso, acho que é fácil deduzir que nada disso irá acontecer. O que realmente me impressionou neste bocado de vídeo foi a excelente actuação de Ellen Pompeo. Alguém lhe pode dar um Emmy, ou, pelo menos, uma nomeação, por favor?

Neste vídeo, apresentam-nos o possível novo interesse amoroso de Cristina. Está na hora de Cristina seguir em frente, e se Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd; Journeyman & Roma) (o soldado que sai da ambulância com a caneta espetada no peito do seu paciente) for necessário para voltarmos a ter a nossa antiga Cristina, tudo bem! E a sua reacção ao homem foi excelente!

Este sneak peek está simplesmente hilariante! Só ao vermos a cara de Bailey ao ver Erica a ensiná-la um pouco de medicina valeu a pena. Parece que Erica está a tentar ser uma melhor professora. Pois ao que parece, o hospital desceu no raking naquilo que mais o defina. E digo-vos já que a descida não foi pouca. Também é normal, com tantos “encontros” nos quartos e armários. Mark é, mais uma vez, bastante mau para George. Acho que isto está se a tornar um pouco mais pessoal, mas foi engraçado de se ver. E o que será que Lexie quer dizer ao George?

Foram bons aperitivos, não?
E há mais. Muitas mais coisas vão acontecer.

Por isto tudo é que Grey's vai voltar em grande. Esta temporada promete ser a melhor, ou, pelo menos, das melhores. E por isso, mesmo que estejam muito ansiosos pelo regresso de Lost (incluindo eu), é favor de ver a estreia. Pois quase que aposto que vai valer a pena. E há mais: muita gente já viu a season premiere e dizem que Grey's está de volta ao que era antes. E isso é motivo de ansiedade. Muita ansiedade. Anatomia de Grey tropeçou, caiu e ergueu-se. Vão poder contar com análises minhas completamente remodeladas.

Grey's Anatomy was pretty freakin' great tonight.  Spoilers abound in this next blogiful adventure, so take that to heart, gentle reader, and sail on...

I'll admit, I used to be a major Grey's fan...and then the storylines stopped catching my attention and I couldn't sit through whole episodes anymore.  Either it was some latent ADD in me somewhere or poor writing.  I'm guessing it was the latter.  Anyway, after the Izzy/Denny debacle of tears, I stopped watching.  But I set it on my DVR to tape tonight because Bernadette Peters (one of my favorite Broadway people EVER; she's the sole reason I even started caring about the theatre at all) was a guest star.  Who doesn't love a celebrity guest star on a medical drama?  I finally sat down to watch the ep with a Pepsi and a bag of kettle corn around 12:00 midnight.  The opening sequence had me in tears.  I don't know what happened at the end of last season, but the sight of McDreamy flatlining (see, TOLD YA there'd be spoilers) and Meredith Grey throwing herself against the glass crying equals sobbing for me.  I was SO happy when it was just a dream, let me tell you.  And then Bernadette saunters onscreen in her bloody prom dress (which she looked beautiful in by the way-- I hope I look that wonderful when I'm HALF her age, much less sixty!) and my attention is completely caught.  I found that whole plotline to be really compelling, and I felt super bad for the woman whose memory kept resetting every thirty seconds.  How tragic, to not have a memory.  I guess you wouldn't feel tragic if it happened to you because you wouldn't know, but seriously!  The human brain is amazing to be able to (mis) function like that.  Sadly, DVR cut out a little bit on me because of the storm, so some parts of the show skipped, but I basically caught the gist of everything that happened.  Could you believe that they let Dr. Torres (Sara Ramirez) go ahead with that spinal freezy-thing without doing proper research?  Some of the things that occurred during that episode, I would hope would never, ever happen in a real hospital.  First, Seattle Grace was ranked #12.  So, of course they get all weird about that, so they basically worry their three injured car accident patient princesses that their husbands were in another car accident.  (Conveniently, they were right, but still!)  Here you have three traumatized woman who pulled a half-dead limo driver from a WINDSHIELD, and you're telling them that their husbands are critically injured?  Gosh, Seattle Grace.  Ethics much?  And then that poor lady with the memory loss- telling her her husband died when she's already confused as hell.  At least Izzie made up for it later by telling her that her husband was around the corner coming to see her.  Made her happy, didn't cost anything, she'll forget it anyway.  Everyone wins that way, I guess.  And then the whole infidelity thing!!  I really wanted Sarabeth (Peters) to rip her husband's trach tube out for cheating on her-- that would have been interesting...I don't get why she reconciled with both her best friend (who slept with her husband) and the husband!  Oh well.  Tragedy brings folks together regardless, I guess.  Let bygones be bygones in the face of death?  Hmm.  Anyway, it was a great episode.  I had to laugh when Cristina got stabbed by the icicle.  I mean, it must have hurt as bad as anything, but still!  I had to look at that and think, "Karma, beeyotch!"  :-)  Her line to that Army surgeon was priceless- "You took my icicle!"  I don't really understand the whole new lesbian subplot yet ('cause I didn't watch last season), but I am proud of Grey's for consulting with GLAAD before adding that new level to their show.  Good on ya, Grey's.  Keep it real.  I am kind of sort of looking forward to next episode!

My lecturers sent back my term paper, because the list of bibliography and references is lacking. Ouch! I have to admit I already knew that it might not meet the conditions even when I handed in the paper, but I so desperately wanted to just have it done. Now I have to revise it again. But on the hand I have to be grateful that I get the chance to revise it. They could have just let me fail because of that, I guess. I've got half of the revision done today and am planning to get the rest done tomorrow. I really have to start reading and working on the stuff for the next class.

It's Grey's Day! Yay! It will still take about 12 hours till I can see the season premiere, but that's nothing compared to the four months I've waited for that. It didn't feel that long by the way, not like it did the years before. Maybe because I wasn't too worried about what the new season will bring for Meredith and Derek. I knew they will be together for good this time, so I didn't have to worry a bit during the summer break. But now they are back and the spoilers and sneak peek got me really excited. If the writers will continue with the great writing of the second half of season for I'm sure it's going to be a great premiere.

And I've got a new wallpaper. I found a high-res version of one of the cutest behind the scenes pictures and I just had to use it. The "story" behind it supposedely is, that Ellen was doing an interview and Paddy just walked by, smooched her and continued walking. *squee* I don't know if the story is true, but the pic is cut either way.

Eye Candy

Grey’s provides as much eye candy as it does plot. The storylines and medical scenarios are a bit far fetched most of the time, but I watch to escape, not to be reminded of dreary reality. Part of the reason Grey’s Anatomy is easy on the eyes are the custom-made scrubs worn by the interns, residents, attending physicians and nurses. You can buy scrubs modeled after the Grey’s Anatomy workwear from various online retailers. Unfortunately, though, even the “Grey’s Anatomy Scrubs” offered on the official website won’t make you look like Ellen Pompeo or Patrick Dempsey. Sorry!

Scrubs that Actually Work

Show star Katherine Heigl sells her own line of scrubs. Judging from the comments in the scrubs forum on allnurses.com, Ms. Heigl’s scrubs don’t quite cut it for actual working nurses. Does Spandex Encourage Friskiness?

Grey’s Anatomy show runner and creator Shonda Rhimes spoke with the Associated Press about what to expect on this upcoming season, and how will deal with Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd's (Patrick Dempsey) happy reunion in the last moments of the season finale. Where the couple reunited after Meredith saw the light about her commitment issues after therapy. The couple kissed on Derek’s hill top land, filled with candles that Meredith used to outline their future home.

"We ended last season with the end of the fairy tale. I always thought this season was about what happens after the 'happily ever after,' for all our characters," Rhimes describes. "For some, it's about jumping off into something new. It feels like a very fresh start for everybody," Rhimes said.

ABC released a number of promos that have upset fans, including one where Derek is in a car accident and killed after leaving Meredith, and another where Rose (Lauren Stamile) confronts Derek telling him "I wish there were a good way to say this: I'm carrying your child." The admission stunned Derek as much it has stunned and angered fans. If true, this could ruin the Mer-Der reunion fans have been hoping for this season.

In an ABC podcast in May, Rhimes said Rose isn't pregnant, and was later quoted as saying she wouldn't deceive "Grey's" loyalists.  Leaked spoilers have proved that Lauren Stamile is in fact leaving the show after the premiere; her character will be gone, but it’s uncertain how the line fits into the show. As previously reported by Michael Ausiello two of the following are supposed to happen in the premiere with one a dream and the other reality:

A. Rose stabs Derek.
B. Derek suffers a heart attack and is visited by the ghost of Denny.
C. Dr. Burke returns to Seattle Grace and shoots Derek in the face before turning the gun on himself.
D. In a flashback, we learn that Derek got into a car accident shortly after leaving Meredith in the candle field.

Still despite these scenarios, Rhimes says that season five will be more upbeat, "We've settled in from all the attention paid and all the hoopla. We feel like we're back to where we were in seasons one and two, in the sense that the writers feel a little bit fearless," Rhimes said. "We know our characters so well at this point that now is the time to take chances."

Also Rhimes said both she and Grey’s Anatomy benefited from the Hollywood writer's strike. "It was the first time in four-and-a-half years I wasn't working nonstop. It was a chance to sleep and clear my brain. ... I know what happens next for these characters in a way I hadn't known before."

What is for certain that Meredith and Derek are definitely traveling down the road to commitment, but it won’t be smooth. (Obviously, without rough patches there is no show)

Also revealed was a new character including the new doctor Kevin McKidd, a military doctor who Rhimes said "makes an impression" on Dr. Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh). And guest stars including Bernadette Peters and Kathy Baker, and Mary McDonnell who is in advanced talks to join the drama for a multi-episode guest arc, according to ABC.

Rhimes also discussed Katherine Heigl (Dr. Izzie Stevens) and assured the press and fans that despite rumors to the contrary Heigl is not leaving the show. Heigl did not submit her name for Emmy consideration this year because the show did not write Emmy worthy material for her character, after her win last year for Best Supporting Actress Drama. "Talk? Who?" Rhimes responds, "We have every intention of seeing Katherine for the entire season." And after being asked if Heigl asked to leave the show Rhimes responded, "No, she has not."

Commenting on Grey's Anatomy's off screen drama notably Isiah Washington's slur towards T.R Knight which prompted Washington's exit.  "I have to say we've been through a lot,'' Rhimes said. She attributes it to “the 'Dawson's Creek' phenomenon," in which a "bunch of lovely and young actors'' must learn to cope with the sudden fame a TV hit brings.  "These are people who went from living their lives to not being able to walk down the street without paparazzi being able to follow them wherever they go," she said.

Rhimes herself has grown accustomed to the fame, Grey's was her first foray as a show producer, she now also produces its spin-off  "Private Practice" and feels "everybody has grown up together." "I drive my little golf cart over to the set and everybody is just really happy. ... So it's nice to see that we're growing into it," Rhimes continued. "I would be shocked if there were no more surprises," she said. "It's the nature of the beast. I don't necessarily feel the same about 'Private Practice.' I just feel like this particular show is its own animal. ... If it's a calm day, we're suspicious."

Time flies when you’re having fun, especially with the cool kids of Seattle Grace Hospital. Season Five. I’m sorry, what? It’s been that long already? Seriously. But it has, and here were are. After an especially off-centre season four, and I say that will all due respect to Shonda for trying to get the show back to its roots, my hopes for this season are sky high. Grey’s Anatomy is the best television show in the history of television since I started watching it. There are other good shows, even some great ones, but not one that has gotten under my skin the way “Grey’s” has. It’s my penis fish, and I like it. I am not ready to review episodes again, that was too exhausting. It cannot be done. Maybe I'll offer a quick recap, music downloads (like the premiere of Taylor Swift's "White Horse," something, but not one thousand word dissections like I tried (and failed) to do last season. I don't know, there is something to be said about getting all your thoughts out like that, I love it.

Thanks to the writers’ strike, Grey’s was cut to an odd seventeen episode season, which meant lose ends had to be tied up super fast, all in all, it was just bad for business. Hence, the lack of Emmy love. The final moments of the season finale, however, were great. Everyone kissed and made up, sort of. At least, everyone kissed. Finally, my Alex Karev got a scene where he could show his vulnerable, emotional side: and that’s all I want to see. He’s an actor, not a model, and them giving him work to do – actual scenes that require acting and dramatising – is the best thing they could do. It almost made me forget about all the problems I had with season four – none of which I thought when I was actually watching the season, they have only surfaced in retrospect.

Alex and Izzie are my favourite characters, by the way.

Anyway. Season 5. So far, there have been three promo trailers. One now infamous featuring Derek on this deathbed and Ellen Pompeo screaming in a way that should get her an Emmy nomination, the other introducing someone who might turn out to be Cristina’s new lover and the third being a random comical scene that ain’t all that interesting. But wait, now six more previews/spoilers have surfaced, but I am too scared to watch em. I expect make-ups, break ups (how will Derek break it to Rose, whom I would love to smack in the face for no good reason), mess ups, toss ups and, above all, some fine, back to basics, Shonda Rhimes without uppers drama. You know, heart breaking. In short, Grey’s Anatomy.

Season five premieres on ABC on Thurday night, don’t miss it!

snl scored again after last week's tina fey sketch...this week's political satire was almost as funny.

okay, yeah i have the first cold of fall 2008 a la my dayjob of caring for 10 sniffling noses but i can't possibly have a bad week with the emmy's tonight and grey's season 5 premiere on thursday.  but still, i really hope this cold clears up soon and doesn't turn into the typical full-blown sinus infection.  finally new tv coming back to sweep "the hills" off my radar again.  waiting for the office + brothers and sisters too.

and grey's...seriously?!  whathe....

rose is pregnant with derek's baby?!  just after he and meredith get back together?

derek gets hit by a car one season and almost dies one season after meredith almost drowns?

okay, i admit it.  this is a soap.  but still, i will be watching. :)

Ellen Pompeo luce melena rubia y un aspecto totalmente maravilloso en la portada de Octubre de Allure Magazine, una conocida revista de belleza americana. En este número, la actriz concede una entrevista y se desmelena, nunca mejor dicho, recordando su inexistente fé en la serie, su pasión por la moda, su matrimonio con Chris Ivery y sus deseos de convertirse en madre, entre otras cosas. En siete puntos, resumimos la entrevista, una interesante charla en la que Pompeo habla de lo más importante de su vida más reciente.

1.“Cuando hice el piloto, pensé, No puedo estar en una serie médica. Esto nunca llegará a nada,” contó a la revista, aunque no es la primera vez que la actriz de 38 años comenta que no creía mucho en Anatomía de Grey, ya que hace un par de años dijo, haciendo referencia al inesperado éxito del drama, que "algunas series debutan, se convierten en un éxito repentino y luego desaparecen." Pesimista sí, y también muy equivocada, visto lo visto en estos momentos. Además, declara que no era muy fan de las series de médicos: "Nunca había visto ni un episodio de Urgencias."

2. El film Moonlight Mile, de 2002: "Esa película fue, hasta la fecha, mi mejor experiencia en la actuación. Salía mucho tiempo en pantalla, estaba totalmente aterrorizada, pero todo el mundo me ayudó a pasar el mal momento, y fue increíble."

3. Su boda con Chris Ivery: "El fin de semana en el que nos casamos... nadie lo supo. No llevaba un anillo de boda. No quise ir a ningún sitio a comprar anillos porque no quería hacer saber que nos íbamos a casar. Mi manager fue a Cartier por mí y compró dos cintas sencillas para tener algo que intercambiar en la ceremonia, pero no nos fueron bien."

4. Su gran amigo, el rapero Puff Daddy: "Puffy es Escorpio, como yo, así que nos llevamos maravillosamente porque sólo los Escorpios saben de verdad lo que es ser Escorpio. Es divertidísimo. Fuimos a las Bahamas con él. Es un hombre generoso, y es muy divertido ir con él de vacaciones— es el alma de la fiesta todo el tiempo. La persona que de verdad quiere disfrutar cada minuto. Nunca le he visto de mal humor— Quiero decir, estoy segura de que tiene malos momentos, pero nunca le he visto así. Siempre está feliz, es positivo, y quiere disfrutar, y asegurarse de que todo el que le acompañe se lo pasa bien."

5. Pasión por la moda: “La moda es un arte como cualquier otro. Todos los artistas aman todo tipo de arte. Todo lo creativo — cocinar, la literatura, la pintura. Me encanta todo eso.”

6. "Quiero ser actriz": “Un día, me levanté y dije, ‘Esto es lo que quiero hacer. "Quando era criança, assisti as Rockettes no Radio City Music Hall. E depois de um tempinho eu levantei e disse 'É isso o que eu quero ser. Elas estão vivas. É isso o que eu quero fazer'. Mas eu era muito triste e introvertida. E eu nunca teria a confiança ou a extroverção para participar de uma peça no colégio", disse a atriz.

Além de insegura na infância, Ellen também não botava muita fé em "Grey's Anatomy" não. "Quando fiz o piloto, pensei 'Eu não suporto séries sobre médicos. Isso nunca vai dar certo'", confessou. E ainda deu um conselho para sua personagem, Meredith. "Desencana. Há muitos peixes no mar", contou Ellen. (Globo)

“Surgeans always have a plan, where the cut, where to clamp, where to stitch. But even with the best plans, complications can arise, things can go wrong, and suddenly you’re caught with your pants down.”

Estamos no dia seguinte após o último episódio, com Izzie (Katherine Heigl) a acordar da sua “noite” com George (T.R. Knight), que aparentemente é fã de Justin Timberlake. Ou pelo menos, fã de “SexyBack”. Outro facto engraçado é que no episódio 18 da segunda temporada, ele dormiu com Mer (Ellen Pompeo). E nesta temporada, dorme com Izzie no episódio… adivinhem lá… 18! 18 é o número da sorte dele, parece.

George não se lembra do que se passou com Izzie na noite anterior. Com tanto álcool… é compreensível. Como também viram no episódio anterior, Cristina (Sandra Oh) dormiu na casa de Mer com ela. E parece que já tem um plano sobre a situação em que está com Burke (Isaiah Washington). Pois, neste episódio, é tudo sobre planos. E erros…

Por falar em planos, a luta por ser chefe de cirurgia continua. E tudo começa com Colin (participação de Roger Rees; Os Homens do Presidente e O Terceiro Passo) a falar do seu plano de 10 anos que incluirá mudanças no hospital. Como é óbvio, Richard não fica muito agradado com a ideia. E ainda por cima, Burke, Addison (Kate Walsh) e Derek (Patrick Dempsey) seguem o seu plano. Pois, planos podem dar certo. Ou não. Ou então, podem simplesmente não serem os melhores. E isso, nesta situação, pode mesmo ser verdade. Pois Mark (Eric Dane), seguindo o conselho indirecto de Bailey (Chandra Wilson) (que mais uma vez, tem muito pouco destaque), mostra o seu plano para “agora”. E parece que está bem visto. Quem diria. Foi um aspecto interessante do episódio, mas não muito relevante.

Finalmente Cristina e Burke resolvem os seus problemas. E ainda bem. Cristina queria originalmente convencer Burke a serem o que eram antes, mas não é possível. Burke mudou, cresceu. Ele quer seguir em frente, seguir um novo plano, se assim se pode dizer. E Cristina aceita. No entanto, vai ter de ser à maneira dela. Pois bem, não seria ela própria se quisesse um casamento tradicional.

Apesar da imagem sorridente de cima, Mer e Derek têm os seus problemas. Meredith continua a lidar com a morte da sua mãe e, Mark para impressionar o chefe (James Pickens Jr.), decide deixar ela participar na cirurgia da Jane Doe e operá-la. Derek não gosta e vai falar com Mer. Mer não gosta e fica zangada com ele. Ela percebe no fim que ele tem razão, mas participa à mesma na cirurgia. No fim, entendem-se como sempre, algo habitual deles, já que discutem e fazem as pazes várias vezes aos mês.

A partir deste episódio, podemos começar a tratar Jane Doe por Ava (participação de Elizabeth Reaser; A Jóia de Família), o nome da sua nova cara, se assim se pode dizer. Ava iria fazer uma cirurgia plástica à sua cara e, com a ajuda de Alex (Justin Chambers), escolheu a cara que irá ter para o resto da sua vida. E como é óbvio, a relação de Alex com a sua paciente continua a crescer. Os outros dois casos médicos, sendo um mais relevante que o outro, foram bastante ao encontro do tema do episódio, e de certa forma, podiam-se relacionar com as nossas personagens.

Temos um homem (participação de Michael Boatman; Spin City) que tem uma ferida no pé, mas que na realidade, é mais que isso. Tem uma infecção no osso e por isso terá que ser amputado. Este homem cometeu um erro. Devia ter ido ao hospital mais cedo. Podia estar com o seu pé, mas devido ao trabalho que tinha, não foi. Errou. E ao perguntar a Cristina o que ele irá fazer a partir de agora, esta disse-lhe algo que parece simples, mas ao mesmo tempo com outros significados: Que mantenha o outro pé. Pois ele ainda tem um pé. A outra paciente (participação de Catherine Dent; The Shield - O Protector) não teve a “sorte” que o outro teve. Esta paciente não se pode mexer pois cresce-lhe ossos onde não devem nascer, e por isso não se consegue movimentar nem mexer, como já disse. E ainda por cima, tem outras complicações. A filha (participação de Elisabeth Moss; Mad Men e Os Homens do Presidente) faz tudo para a proteger, mas ela é uma pessoa. Ela não pode ser perfeita. Ela falha. A mãe quer que a sua filha falhe, que cometa um erro pois não pode continuar assim para sempre. Tivemos uma boa montagem de cenas onde a paciente morre e a janela que a filha estava a segurar para a casa que estavam montar cai. Ela cometeu um erro, não conseguiu evitar. E Izzie, para confortar a morte da mãe, dá um discurso à filha que só ela sabe dar.

Callie (Sara Ramirez) e George, que até ao momento ainda não se lembra de nada, têm que fingir que não discutiram. Porquê? Porque o pai de Callie (participação de Hector Elizondo; Médicos sem Fronteiras e Cane) está na cidade. Eles vão almoçar e George, ainda de ressaca, tenta impressionar o pai dela, em que ao inicio não consegue. No meio de uma discussão, lembra-se de tudo o que aconteceu com Izzie. Lembra-se do erro que cometeu. E aí, George fala e fala bem para o seu sogro. Ele sai do bar do Joe, deixando Callie bastante orgulhosa, e vai falar com Izzie.

Momento da semana:

E aqui temos o momento da semana. Foi uma cena forte em que, apesar de não terem dito nada, disseram tanto ao mesmo tempo. Foi bastante impressionante e boa actuação de ambos os actores. Izzie quer, mas George “diz” que não pode. Uma grande cena. Mais para o fim do episódio, eles falam mesmo e George não quer contar nada a Callie, pois não quer magoá-la e assim decide ficar com esse erro na consciência. E por isso, Izzie não pode dizer nada.

Izzie tira os lençóis. Está na hora de esquecer ou de, pelo menos, tentar.

“The thing about plans is they don't take into account the unexpected, so when we're thrown a curve ball, whether its in the OR or in life, we have to improvise. Of course, some of us are better at it than others. Some of us just have to move on to plan B and make the best of it. And sometimes what we want is exactly what we need. But sometimes, sometimes what we need is a new plan.”
