Kongregate Guides Part 1 of Infinity

Ether War is a spaceship shoot them while dodging a lot of bullets game. There is a card and two badges for the game. Let's go with the most important reward first...the card!

Rumiko has the following move set:

Shuriken Barrage - Costs 40 points, and can only be used at far range. It can do 44 damage. (Speed 7)

Ninja Port - Costs 35 points, and can only be used in close range. It only causes 15 damages but causes Rumiko to teleport far away. (Great retreat move!) (Speed 4)

Poison Dart - Causes 20 points, and 15+ damage. It can be used at either range. It has a chance to poison the enemy with 5 damage for 4 turns. (Speed 7)

Eviscerate- Causes 65 points, and causes 18 damage. Can only be used at close range. It has a chance of stunning the enemy. (Speed 8)

Ok so Rumiko is great at long range combat. Most of her moves are relatively fast expect for the Ninja-Port which is disappointingly slow. She would be great against characters who have cancel moves as she would always hit first.

Ok so in order to get this card, you will need to score 2,000 points in Ether War. Ether War, like I mentioned above is a space ship shoot them up game in which you must destroy the enemy's core before they destroy yours. The game is pretty generous with infinite lives, power ups and allies. The allies will destroy a lot of the smaller ships which may or may not be a good thing for you.

In order to power up your ship you must destroy the enemy ships and collect those green dots in get more 'Ether'. Ether can be used to power up your cannon, allies, shield, engine, give you triple shot, smart missiles, etc,etc. The best way to get Ether is to destroy the small ships. In order to get the card, you must destroy around 200-400 ships (In my experience). Depending on what you destroy you will get more or less points (Kind of obvious, but I had to say it).

The easy badge is, well very easy. You should have it by the time you receive the card. (If not...what the hell did you do?!)

The 15 point badge is also relatively easy (You have infinite lives!), just keep destroying the small ships to upgrade, kill the sun looking enemies and then take down the red guy who the yellow suns rotate around. (You can't kill it without destroying the sun enemies).

Some suggestions:

Destroy smaller enemies. A lot of them. Do it now.
Be smart in your upgrading, if you are dying a lot, upgrade your shield. If enemies are near your base, upgrade your allies. (Look at the map) If everything else is o.k. upgrade your cannon/ shot. If you can't keep up with the yellow enemies, upgrade your engine.
Look at your shield, and keep moving.
Don't get frustrated. Just keep your cool. You have as much time as you want.

謝謝你昨晚的表演，我覺得有一種很輕鬆的氛圍環繞在卡夫卡內。

我喜歡昨晚的Tuesday Kid，聽起來很流暢，連今天早晨起床都還在哼；

I play rock for all跟專輯與youtube上的版本比起來，

雖然少了驚喜的感覺，卻是那麼地清新乾淨；

最後一首歌的編曲令我印象深刻，身體都不自覺地擺動了起來，

不過我忘記歌名是什麼了哈哈！

而我學弟很稱讚你能只用一把吉他就玩出這麼多的花樣。

不過昨天聽你說話好像不太輪轉喔！

感覺得出來還沒有把所有的想法完全地傳達給我們知道，的確是有點可惜的部分。

其實我對一般人所謂的非主流音樂真的不熟，平常在聽的也只有陳珊妮而已，

只是我想那些在BBS上對1976的事情引起爭辯的網友們，也是在害怕最初的感動走樣吧？

是不是曾經有忘了初衷的樂團或歌手呢？

加入了大型唱片公司之後，還能夠擁有堅守自己理念的權利嗎？

這些也都是我想要知道的。

我曾經很喜歡星光一班的劉明峰，覺得他的聲音很清新，有種沒有被世俗汙染的感覺；

但隨著一班畢業，卻出現了一些他的負面消息，也讓我開始擔心：

從前對他的感動是不是再也回不來了？

你呢？你的理想是什麼？你想堅守的是什麼？

我相信的是我們Soft Power的力量。

用音樂、戲劇、舞蹈、教育等的藝術與文化去感動人心、改變世界。

消弭充斥在社會上的標籤化是需要努力的，

我看見目前國中的孩子們仍然在學著大人的語言與態度，

有幾個會是在沒有被灌輸這些刻板印象的生活中長大的？

我想有很多人都在用不同的方式在努力著。

只要還記得當時的理想，音樂就沒有主流和非主流之分。

只要還記得自己的初衷，感動人心的力量就會永遠存在。

期待你下一次的演出，你是很棒的！

Quick Chicken-Corn Chowder

I am working on getting more ready-to-go dinners in the freezers so on the nights that we don't feel like cooking we don't go out. I was in a soup mood and while asking about Potato Cheese soup someone sent me this recipe. It sounded good, and easy, and perfect for some leftover chicken I had that I wanted to do something with.

Quick Chicken-Corn Chowder
Adapted from Cooking Light.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped celery
2 potatoes, peeled and diced into bite-sized pieces
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 cups 2% reduced-fat milk
2 cups chopped roasted skinless, boneless chicken breasts (about 2 breast halves)
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen corn kernels (about 3 ears)
1 teaspoon chopped fresh or 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 (14 3/4-ounce) can cream-style corn

Directions

In a large saucepan melt the butter over medium heat.
Add onion, celery, and potato, cook for 3 minutes or until tender stirring frequently.
Add flour, cook 1 minute stirring constantly.
Stir in milk and remaining ingredients.
Bring to a boil, cook until thick (about 5-10 minutes).
Serve and enjoy!

This was a fairly simple corn chowder and both DH and I liked it. I think DH's favorite part was the chunks of chicken in it. It made about 6 servings, I froze two dinners in a ziplog bag in the freezer.

Noodles that embrace the start of spring

We've still got a few winter veges floating around at bargain prices at the moment, so why not make the most of them? These noodles have a really unique blend of flavours - cauliflower, parnsips (don't lose hope yet), garlic chives and chinese celery combine for a peppery, potent yet sweet sensation. The recipe is highly adaptable of course, but you can get all the ingredients in Christchurch easily. It's a perfect opportunity to broaden your vege horizons. I've always thought New Zealand positively bland and narrow-minded when it comes to the selection of vegetables available, but actually it can often just be the big supermarkets. Give your local greengrocers a visit or the asian supermarkets or greengrocers. If you're not sure if you'll like something, don't just rely on smell - the great thing about smaller grocers is that they often know a bit more about how to prepare certain foods. Just ask :)

Vegan spring celebration noodles

serves two (all measurements are approximate and ingredients can be substituted)

enough noodles for 2
1 1/2 c cauliflower florets, small
a small bundle of garlic chives or normal chives, chopped into 2-3cm bits
1 stalk of celery or 1 chinese celery plant (I think this could be flat parsley), chopped finely (including leaves)
50-100g cooked fried tofu (I used tofu sheets, which are available at asian supermarkets in fridges, they look like fabric folded and can be frozen and defrosted easily)
a few thin slices of parnsip
salt and pepper
1-2Tbs soy sauce (depending on darkness)
3Tbs oil

Heat oil in a large frying pan on medium high heat, adding the cauliflower and parsnips. Cook until undersides are brown, then stir and repeat about 3 times.

While cauliflower is cooking, cook noodles in a separate pan according to packet instructions (we used 2 minute noodles...shhh).

Add tofu and remaining ingredients, stirring to incorporate. Drain noodles once cooked and add to the pan, mixing everything together. Plate, and serve with a few grind of freshly ground black pepper.

A CBF dinner that's healthy?!

Lazy days call for lazy dinners, and what faster, lazier thing is there to cook than couscous?! While you can no longer find this miracle grain at Pak'n'Slave, Piko do a kilo bag for under $6 (and non-lame supermarkets should stock them in the pasta aisle). A little more expensive than pasta, yes, but it takes 5 minutes to cook (and you don't have to do it on the stovetop). Bam.

It's all quite deliciously easy.

Couscous - 1/2c per person, vege stock cube to suit your water, 1c boiling water, all in a bowl. Cover (with a plastic bag is fine) for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork. DONE.

Veges - stir fry as many as you feel like in a frying pan or wok in some oil, a splash of soy sauce or whatever sauce/seasonings you fancy, and mix it all in with the couscous. DONE. Pictured is chopped bok choy, some garlic, onions, carrot and cauliflower florets. These can all be cooked while you're waiting on that couscous.

Spinach & Tofu Salad with Sesame Miso Dressing

Ingredients:

1 pack organic baby spinach
1 pinch sesame seeds (for garnishing)
1/2 block tofu (cut into small cubes)

Low Fat Japanese Sesame Miso Dressing:

1 tablespoon white miso
1 tablespoon ponzu sauce
1/2 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (ground with mortar and pestle)
1/4 cup water

Method:

Mix the sesame miso dressing ingredients until well blended. (You can heat up the dressing in a small sauce pan and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes before use.)

Wash the baby spinach and drain excess water. In a salad bowl, toss the baby spinach with tofu and sesame miso dressing. Dish out and serve cold.

Tamarind & Ginger Lamb Shanks

INGREDIENTS

2 teaspoons five-spice powder
1 teaspoon dried chilli flakes
1 cinnamon stick
2 star anise
¼ cup (60ml) soy sauce
½ cup (125ml) chinese cooking wine
2 tablespoons tamarind concentrate
2 tablespoons brown sugar
8cm piece fresh ginger (40g), grated
2 cloves garlic, chopped coarsely
1¼ cups (310ml) water
8 french-trimmed lamb shanks (1.6kg)
500g choy sum, cut into 10cm lengths
150g sugar snap peas, trimmed

METHOD

Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced.

Dry-fry five-spice, chilli, cinnamon and star anise in small frying pan, stirring, until fragrant. Combine spices with soy sauce, wine, tamarind, sugar, ginger, garlic and the water in a medium jug.

Place shanks, in single layer, in a large shallow baking dish; drizzle with spice mixture. Roast, uncovered, turning shanks occasionally, about 2 hours or until meat is almost falling off the bone. Remove shanks from dish; cover to keep warm. Skim away excess fat from juices; strain sauce into small saucepan.

Meanwhile, boil, steam or microwave choy sum and peas, separately, until tender; drain.

Divide vegetables among serving plates; serve with shanks, drizzled with reheated sauce.

Serving size: Serves 4

Szechuan Chilli Chicken & Eggplant

Ingredients:

1 boneless and skinless chicken breast (cut into cubes)
1 eggplant, cut into cubes
12 dried red chilies
1 tablespoon of Szechuan peppercorn
5 slices of peeled ginger
5 slices of garlic
1 stalk of scallion (julienned for garnishing)
1 sprig of coriander (for garnishing)
1 fresh red chili (julienned for garnishing)
3 tablespoons of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of Chinese cooking wine (rice wine or Shaoxing wine preferred)
Salt to taste

Cut the chicken breast and eggplant into cubes and dip them into batter and deep fry to golden brown.
Set aside.
In a wok, heat up some oil until smoke comes out. Add in the sliced ginger, garlic, and stir fry until they turn light brown. Add in the dried chilies, Szechuan pepper and quick stir them until you smell the spicy and fragrant aroma. Add in the chicken cubes and seasoning and do a final quick stir. Serve hot and garnish with scallion, coriander, and red chili.

This, the the first of my first blogs, is so far behind the curve of blog growth that it's hard to give it a priority number. Probably, about a hundred blogs were started somewhere else while I was setting this up. I've been fooling with the intention for at least a year.

So I start with huge modesty, knowing it's likely that I won't be adding unique stuff to the pile of words and wisdom out there. The least I can do is to make it stylish and easy to read, and not waste my visitors' time by just regurgitating other people's blogs and sites.

The Fork in the ROAD

This picture PERFECTLY illustrates “A Moment of Time” in my life… It’s a moment where I could’ve gone one way or the other. I knew I needed to make a conscious choice to live MY life or I’d fall into the pattern of being someone that I’m not; Someone who followed and did not lead, someone who was 30lbs over-weight, someone who didn’t really believe in herself, and most importantly someone who wasn’t happy. Have you ever hit a moment in time where you knew you had to stop making excuses and start finding solutions?

WARNGING: Proceed with caution. The below TRUTHS and FACTS were written by TOUGH Lacey not the soft and cozy one that’s written the previous posts. I tried to edit it to make it a little softer but in the end I decided against it. I’m Tired of people “editing” what it takes to have a body and life they love. The FACTS are that it’s hard and it takes work every single day. I’m sorry if some of the stuff is hard to hear or a little harsh but I want to touch a nerve and I want you to know that I am here for YOU. If you have a problem with anything post something and lets talk about it, ok? Alright, the below is rated R for maturity, Viewer discretion advised :) :) :)

One more disclaimer: I’ve read TONS of books and I have lots of certifications in Fitness, so it’s suppose to be easy for me right? WWRRROOOOONNGGGG.

MY TRUTH – There’s no easy way to do it, it’s about consistent effort towards something you really want. I was TIRED of being sad and not liking my body so I made a conscious effort every single day to turn my life around. Turning my life around didn’t happen in a blink of an eye… But it DID Happen. Three words that always help me; PASSION – You've got to want it, PERSISTENCE – You've got to work for it, PATIENCE – It will not happen over night.

MY TRUTH – It’s hard as SH*&$! to turn your life around, to lose weight, to take your career to the next level, to maintain a healthy relationship. I MUST reeaalllyyy want it and have major reasons to back it up otherwise I’ll give-up. It was a hard lesson to learn but for me it’s my truth. I’m consistently writing and re-writing lists of what it is I want. Here’s a question I like to ask myself a lot when I’m feeling overwhelmed or find myself whining in my head about how hard it is… What’s the alternative Lacey? That’s right, you gotta keep BRINGING IT! :)

MY TRUTH – The journey never ends… Once the necessary changes are made, that’s when life starts to happen, that’s when I gotta keep on that track otherwise the changes don’t stick. SCARY TRUTH - There are NO QUICK FIXES, if you want to be a certain way you have to do it FOREVER. That's life that’s what makes it beautiful and difficult at the same time. It’s a Catch 22; It’s beautiful because you can be, do, or have whatever you want AND it’s hard because no one’s going to hand it to you. If you want it YOU have to go out there and take some risks, ggooooooo get it yourself. One of my favorite quotes – “With GREAT Risk comes GREAT reward.” FACT: If you’re not willing to take risks you will get stuck.

MY HARD TRUTH- Some of my closest friends and family tried to sabotage me consciously and unconsciously. WHY? Because they knew me as I used to be not as I wanted to be. Many of them did not understand or didn’t want to understand me because my changes made them question themselves. Here’s what I did… I felt the fear and did it anyway (That’s a GREAT book by the way “Feel the Fear and do it anyway”). Here’s what I decided; If they were my true friends they’d stick around and if they weren’t they wouldn't… anndd frankly who needs’em anyway, right? :) I found out that after time passed most of the people came back… anddd My GOD if you do become successful, you will not believe the people who will start calling - http://sweatcity.wordpress.com/2008/07/15/my-first-love/ My Motto – Keep it MOVING!

THE FACTS about THE FACTS :) – I lost close friends… BUT along the way I found New Ones who're on the same journey. This was a very difficult FACT for me to understand... But once I let my old friends go, I felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders. I was free to find new friends and I was free to be whoever I wanted to be without someone saying “You’re so different.”

My TRUTH – My new style of life did not fit into my old patterns of living. I had to give up some of my safety blankets. What do I mean? If you’re trying to lose weight and you like to go out drinking on the weekends that may or may not work. If you can’t find a way to go out without drinking in the beginning stages of a weight-loss program you WILL NOT lose the weight and you will not be or feel successful. Alcohol created a huge problem for me when I wanted to change my body, be serious in my career, and find a woman that was more than a one night stand or an adventurous couple of months. Sooooo, I stopped drinking… I found that changed everything for me… My focus, my drive, my life. MY ADVICE: When beginning a weight loss journey you should consider staying in on Friday and Saturday nights. Being disciplined and making sacrifices are two things you need to learn if you want to make BIG! life changes.

MY TRUTH – I needed to spend time alone. In order to be strong in my Self. I needed to know and understand "who am I?", "what do I stand for?" Running away from me was never going to make me feel in control of my Self and my life.

MY TRUTH – I needed to ask myself the HARD questions – What’s important to me, what do I want out of life, why do I want these things? I needed to have the answers to these questions. WHY? If I didn’t know where I wanted to go how did I expect to get there? Knowing the answers to difficult questions like these were crucial in turning my life around. Whenever I questioned my life I would go back to these questions, what I had written and I instantly knew I was on the right path. A good book with some great questions is “Good to GREAT”… It’s a business book BUT what's the difference? I like to think of myself as a company- Lacey Stone, INC… If I want to be a well run company I need to know what I stand for, right? :)

MY TRUTH – I needed one good friend to help me get through this. I didn’t need a group of girls or a lover, but I did need someone who would listen to me. This process is not easy to go at without the support of other people on the same journey. I found some of my closet friends at Equinox, Thank YOU (To everyone at Equinox thank you… my clients, my gamers, my bootys, my spinners, you help me to believe anything’s possible) annddd thank you Mom and Dad, of course :)

MY TRUTH – Every SINGLE moment matters. Here’s what I do, I make a list every single day of what I want to accomplish. The list has personal, professional, and relationship goals. Every day I work towards these goals. BALANCE: A lot of times the goals get out of balance. One area will become more prominent than an other BUT the important thing for me is that I know what my goals are. Sssoooo, if I get a little outta whack I can take immediate action to correct the imbalance. Knowing where I want to go gives me immense confidence and helps me to stay centered in my life. If I don’t know who I want to be and where I want to go of course I’m going to feel on edge. EVERY DAY matters, every hour, every minute, every second. Know where you want to go and MAKE IT HAPPEN.

MY TRUTH – Once I worked hard towards reaching my goals… I’m talking a year or two under your belt; I’d lost the 30lbs, got signed by Reebok, did a Nike Event, started my own company, met Jessica…. ONCE I started to see all these successes personally and professionally I knew I was on the right track. I’d built a strong sense of self and an undeniable confidence. People started describing me in a way I’d never been described before. They said I was happy and the fact was that some how it had become true. For the first time in my life… I Lacey Stone was happy. It’s not an easy road my friends. EASY is never a word I'll use to describe the process of changing my life. I would describe it as HARD as HELL, however it’s Sooooo WORTH IT…. AND once I made it past a point, crossed the line between old Lacey and new Lacey, there was no turning back. I had changed forever.

My TRUTH - Anything is possible if you have the courage to pursue it.

Salsa Beef Stir Fry

I was browsing through a Southwestern cookbook the other day and found something called Salsa Beef Stir Fry. It sounded interesting, but some of the ingredients seemed very expensive. I decided to take this recipe and change it to make it easy and cheap. Here is what I came up with.

1.5 lbs beef (any kind, see below)

1 cup salsa

1 15 oz can whole corn

8 oz dry pasta (any kind)

Shredded Cheddar and Monterey Jack Cheese to top once cooked.

The original recipe called for ground beef. This seemed fine to me but sounded boring. I went to Kroger and found two different meats that were on Manager Special. I find Manager Special is great if you are going to cook it very soon. I ended up with 1 lbs of Top Round and .5 lbs Skirt Steak for a total cost of $5.59. This really made the dish more exciting. I cut all the meat into about half inch strips. I then browned the meat and drained off the fat. Next is the easy part, add all the remaining ingredients and cook covered for about 12 minutes. The pasta is what will determine when this dish is done. Just give a piece of pasta a taste. If it is crunchy keep cooking.

See how easy! The best part is you will end up with lots of leftovers that are great for lunch. After cooking I topped mine with the cheese.

Since i'm taking all-so-natural products seriously, i might as well start here at home. Well, actually i used to do my own mask by just mixing egg white, honey, oatmeal and a little milk. This homemade mask was thought by my mom, although then she didn't add oatmeal, honey or milk. That was merely my own experiment as i don't fancy the egg smell, i add those 3 ingredients to make them smell nice. However, here's a few homemade facial masks i found on the net which is really simple. Have a go at it and tell me how it goes.

How to apply facial masks:
Home made facial masks containing natural ingredients are quick and simple to create at home. For applying facial mask, first rinse your face with warm water to open up the pores. Then apply mask. In the final rinse, use cold water to close the pores.

Cucumber Face Pack to get Smooth Skin
Mash 1 whole cucumber, strain water, add 1 tablespoon of sugar and mix well. Put in a container,l keep refrigerated and take out whenever you want to use it. Apply on your face and leave for 10 minutes, then wash with cold water and enjoy the smoothness of your skin. You canttry on it on other parts of body as a scrub.

Banana Face Pack for Dry Skin
Mash half cup of natural yogurt, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 1/4 ripe banana. Apply this pack on face and neck and leave for 10 minutes and then rinse off.

Facial Mask
Squeeze half a lemon and mix the juice with one beaten egg white. Apply on your face and leave for overnight. Wash your face with warm water.

Clay Facial
Choose the right clay for your skin type. Add plain water or floral waters or try wetting agents such as fruit purees . Make a thick paste of the clay. Apply the mask to your skin and let it dry for 20 minutes. Rinse well with warm water and pat dry. Repeat weekly.

Avocado Facial Mask
Mash the meat of the avocado into a creamy texture. Apply it thoroughly on face and leave for 15 - 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, then use cold water to close the pores.

Banana Mask for Wrinkles
Mash 1/4 banana until very creamy and apply on face and leave for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, then use cold water to close the pores.

Honey Facial Mask
Rinse your face with warm water to open up the pores. Apply honey and leave for half an hour. Rinse with warm water, then use cold water to close the pores. Rinse with warm water, then use cold water to close the pores.
