Ó, assim como a maioria das mulheres eu a do ro maquiagem, mas eu não tenho muitos dotes para tal. E nem muita verba pra gastar, já que todos os produtos que eu gosto não vendem aqui e eu ainda não tô podendo fazer bate e volta no free shop nos findi (esse dia há de chegar). Mas deus é bom minha gente, já que ele não me fez rica e nem expert em maquiagem, pelo menos ele meu deu amigos maquiadores in cri véis.

Esse findi eu tava na vibe encosto de chacrete, montação drag pra bater cabelo como se não houvesse amanhã. E ninguém melhor do que o Lu Ramos pra me entender e me montar. Eu tinha um niver pra ir e ele ia comigo, pedi pra ele ir na minha casa fazer aquela caridade. A bixa tava animada, e o resultado foi uma montação lindja. E eu gosto taaaaaaanto do Lu (gimme gimme more), que resolvi chamar ele pra dar dicas de maquiagem aqui no blog. Assim que a gente conseguir se encontrar fora da valeta noturna, vamos fazer um passo a passo de makes e cabelos suuuuper legais (e se alguma amiga leitora quiser sugerir a gente aceita). Pra frveção de sábado, eu mostrei pra ele o clip da minha musa Gwen Stefani, early winter. Make bafão pretume esfumaçãdo, e de brinde fez o cabelo igual ao dela, só que aí bateu o encosto de chacrete e no meio da montação ele mudou a pauta do cabelo pra Amy Winehouse. Bjos amei.

Pra encontrar o Lu Ramos é só dar aquela passadinha conceitual no MG Hair e ahaza, fia!!!

Não gosto de Gwen Stefani (pronuncia-se "estefâni").

Nunca gostei, desde que ela fazia parte do famigerado No Doubt que, no doubts about it, era ruim demais. (entederam o trocadilho, ãnh? ãnh?). Aqueles versos satânicos de "Don't Speak" de tão executados pelas rádios ainda ecoam nos porões empoeirados da minha mente despertando todos os monstros que lá habitam, me causando um tremendo mal estar. CRUZES.

Enfim, Gwen não é bonita, não canta bem, tem voz esganiçada, não tem um estilo musical definido - até aí não classifico isso como sendo algo ruim, indicaria riqueza musical se suas musicas fossem...ricas - é pop demais e pop do mal, tipo Fergie, Pussy Cat Dolls e outras tranqueiras e, o pior de tudo: quer ser a Madonna.

Fora todos esses contras, ela tem alguns pontos positivos:

-É casada com o GATO do Gavin Rossdale (ex-Bush)

-Se veste INCRIVELMENTE BEM (inclusive é dona de uma marca com roupas muito legais, a L.A.M.B - que remete ao nome de seu primeiro disco solo: Love Angel Music Baby)

-É uma das únicas celebridades que ficaram bem de loiro platinado

-Lançou uma nefanda MÚSICA POP CHICLETE que finalmente possui belos arranjos e que me faz assobiar a melodia O DIA INTEIRO.

-Mas o mais importante: no clipe usa um VESTIDO VERDE E PRETO (que eu descobri que se trata de um Dolce&Gabanna) de tirar o fôlego. AFEMARIA QUE COISA LINDA!!

Viram né? Predicados exclusivamente musicais os da moça...rsrsrsr

Gwen, linda. Pára de cantar e faz que nem a Victoria Beckham: gasta o dinheiro do marido com roupas que pra isso você tem talento, santa.

“Look's like an early winter for us” – такие слова звучат в припеве песни Gwen Stefani “Early Winter” (Gwen Stefani “Early Winter” на ютубе). Эту песню я узнал благодаря Keane – они сделали кавер (как не люблю это слово, просто кошмар) и обозвали песню, как ни странно, “Early Winter” (Keane “Early Winter” на ютубе). Я узнал о том, что они сделали свою версию (вот так мне больше нравится) из их официальной рассылки. В письме была ссылка на секретный раздел сайта, который был доступен для самых-самых терпеливых, и я оказался среди них.

Когда я послушал песню в первый раз, у меня в горле встал ком. Я слушал эту песню еще и еще. А через две недели я увидел клип на эту песню в эфире MTV – пела Gwen Stefani (это был оригинал, хотел я сказать). Это был единственный раз, когда я видел клип в эфире. Не знаю, почему, – видимо, не привился пиплу или не понравился руководству. Непонятно.

А услышал я песню в конце ноября.

This photo was taken earlier this year. To the left is dopey-looking me. I don't usually seem that short, but...Beside me is a tall, thin, blond Swede by the name of John Ajvide Lindqvist. You may remember me raving about his first novel, Let the Right One In (published in the US as Let Me In; published in his native Swedish as Låt den rätte komma in). You can read my review at Amazon UK.

Good news, everyone! His second novel, Handling the Dead (published in Swedish as Hanteringen av odöda) has a release date. Well, for the UK, anyway. 8th May, 2008. Mark it on your calendars, folks - according to Wikipedia, it has zombies, which means that hopefully at least Mark Henry and Carrie Ryan should be interested.

JAL's short fiction collection, Pappersväggar, hasn't been translated (or published) into English yet. But I'll be patient.

And now for the fangirly squeeing. I read a lot of urban fantasy, written originally in English. Let the Right One In stood out in more ways than one.

*It's set in the 1980s
*The setting is Blackeberg, a suburb of Stockholm (in Sweden, of course)
*The narrator, Oskar, is a kid
*Håkan is one of the most intriguing and disturbing characters I've ever read

And here's the big clincher:

*Vampirism isn't glamorous

In English-as-a-first-language urban fantasy, vampires are pretty much desirable (by the love interest, anyway). They're good to look at, they're seductive, and you'd pretty much let them bleed you dry.

JAL's vampires are a lot more believable - they smell. After all, these are dead people we're talking about. Undead is still somewhat dead, let us not forget.

I loved the book. That's not to say I don't like other vampire fiction - Jennifer Armintrout's "Blood Ties" series immediately springs to mind as a favourite. But I seriously do recommend Let the Right One In to anyone and everyone who's looking for something truly different and extraordinary.

And now in other news
*I think I'm getting seriously crackers, have no idea what I'm on about most of the time. Don't know what's happened to my humour. It's either subtle to the point that it's hard to tell if it's even there, or I'm just plain crackers.

*Have figured out how to pay for things online with my debit card - and used it to buy Vicki Pettersson's (and others') Holidays Are Hell :-)

*I'm revising my Reading Wishlist with new titles and release dates - this could take some time.

*The single version of Gwen Stefani's "Early Winter" is missing bits that were in the album version. This is annoying. Nevertheless, you can check out the filmclip here.

Ya sé, ya sé, ya sé... ya no debo postear videos de youtube, son demasiados... pero me acabo de enterar, me acabo de enterar en PerezHilton que mi idola de idolas Gwen Stefani acaba de lanzar el quinto sencillo de su disco "The Sweet Scape"

Ah... yo quiero ser Gwen Stefani... quiero cantar como Gwen Stefani y tener mis harajuku girls. Disfruto inmensamente sus dos discos solistas y debo ser la más infeliz por el reencuentro de No Doubt (pero me gustan). Les dejo el video.
