I have installed my Canon LBP2900 I-SENSYS on my girlfriends Windows laptop, and shared the printer. I have previously http://firmit.wordpress.com/2008/04/10/canon-lbp2900-setup/ showed howto setup the printer via USB.

What you need is the ppd-file - which is available at Canon's official site:

http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010177.asp

Download and extract, and install the two debian packages with

$ sudo dpkg -i cndrvcups-common_1.60-1_i386.deb cndrvcups-capt_1.60-1_i386.deb

Now, install printer via samba in cups or via your DE - Gnome has a GUI way of doing this, but cups works like a charm.

http://localhost:631

Add new printer -> Device: Windows printer via Samba

Device URI: smb://administrator/192.168.2.1/canon

This of course points to the Canon LBP2900 with shared name "canon" on administrator@192.168.2.1 with no password. Worked from the word GO!

I got suckered in again. I told myself that I would not (under any circumstances) buy more collectable-ish stuff that I do not need and now it's come back to bite me in the ass.

In my defense, I was on a road trip with my family and we stopped at the McDonald's drive thru because we were starving and there was nothing else around. My father can't stand McDonald's and has actually had quite a few run-ins with them concerning their stupid "we don't serve breakfast after 11AM rule). That isn't the point, but I thought I'd mention it nonetheless.

McDonald's (in their usual - "we own the world" spirit) was selling Olympics glasses. Since my father was fronting the cost of our drive-thru dinner, I thought I would get him to buy me one. After all, it wasn't like it was completely impractical. A glass can be filled with a tasty beverage and consumed. That's how they get you. Anyhow, glass in hand, we headed back on our drive.

It's been one week and I've been my using my green Olympics glass every day. I like it so much that now I want the whole collection so that when I have my Olympics parties (yeah right) I can serve drinks in style. The issue? McDonald's no longer sells cette glasses. They've decided that even though the Olympics are NOT over, they have discontinued the Olympics glasses. Explain that one to me. I mean, I know McDonald's LOVES their stupid "limited edition" everything notion, but really -- at least wait the three days until the Olympics end and then pull them off your "smiles are free" menu. Jeepers.

So now I'm like a crack addict, only I'm addicted to Olympics glasses and can't get them anywhere. And what the heck am I supposed to do with just one glass? It's not even a pair. *sighs*

Curse you McDonald's for dragging me into this darned situation every time. Whether it's your Beany Babies or your Barbies or your stupid Tonka Trucks, I have to have them and you never give me enough time to buy them all.

The ancient Greek philosopher Hippocrates (460 - 370 BC) is credited with the concept of the Four Te

The ancient Greek philosopher Hippocrates (460 - 370 BC) is credited with the concept of the Four Temperaments, or basic personality types or dispositions. Hippocrates believed that the Temperaments, or Humors, were caused by an abundance of one of the four types of bodily fluid. This theory was in later years completely discounted, but it is interesting to note how the Temperaments as stated by Hippocrates correspond to the four personality types as outlined the by the Tarot. It is important to remember, however, that no person is only one type of personality, as we are all combinations of the four.

The Four Temperaments, or Personality Types are:

Sanguine, the Performer, corresponds to the element of Air (Swords) and the body fluid Blood. The Sanguine temperament is outgoing and energetic, a natural entertainer, but also has tendencies of exaggeration and impatience while dealing with others.

Choleric, the Adventurer, corresponds to the element of Fire (Wands) and the body fluid Yellow Bile. The Choleric personality is a born leader and independent to a fault, but can also be brash, opinionated and judgmental.

Phlegmatic, the Intuitive, corresponds to the element of Water (Cups) and the body fluid Phlegm. The Phlegmatic temperament is empathetic and compassionate, but can also be emotionally distant and stubborn to a fault.

Melancholic, the Thinker, corresponds to the element of Earth (Pentacles) and the body fluid Black Bile. The Melancholic temperament is analytical, logical, and deliberate, but can also be suspicious and argumentative.
