I have not been to the movies recently enough to see any good previews but from what I have seen advertised on television there are two movies that are worth paying for. The first is called YESman with Jim Carrey. His movies are always funny and become classics. The second movie is called Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. This looks like a unique movie with an actor who is popular and funny.

What do you think is wrong with movies today? The problem with movies today is there prices. Besides that I don't see too much of a decrease in entertainment quality. With prices rising less popular movies will not be worth seeing and spending so much for a movie that may not be good is on the verge of crazy. In this case many movie industries will fall apart with no revenue.

Incluso, prefería antes a mistress Cruise, Katie Holmes.

FICHA:

Película: Batman - The Dark Knight

   Nota: 7

Me pone Jim Carrey.

Smith. Qué ganas de ponerme pulseras...

All I need is a certain trigger.

MASSIMO PORK!!!

———————————————————————————————-

Lord Only Knows.

Número de familiares en el extranjero: 1. Te reto al Super Smash Brawl, bro.

Jim Carrey has been in some very funny movies, most of them being funny because he is the leading actor. He has mentioned how he got into making all those entertaining faces that characterize him.

The main reason is that when he was younger his mother was very sick in bed and would take a lot of pills for her pain, Jim would do everything necessary to make his mother laugh. Even if it meant throwing himself down the stairs or doing the most ridiculous of faces. When he was younger he was many times depressed and mad with the world because poverty forced hard labor upon his family, he did eventually go through it and now loves life with a passion without drugs or alcohol.

At the early age of 8 his beloved father died and left Drew completely alone, whenever Drew would not be with his friends he would rapidly become depressed and use food and alcohol to help him fight the disturbing feeling he had inside. He would not be able to appreciate anything from small to big and would frequently curse the world putting it to blame for all that had happened to him. Today Drew is constantly on the road to recovery by reading books and writing his comedy stand-up scripts.

This is pretty silly but it got me thinking. According to that bastion of reliability, TMZ:

"Mimi's been unofficially placed on a paparazzi blacklist after breaking unwritten fame game rules at a CD signing event last week. After Mariah showed up two hours late (bad), sprinted down the red carpet (even badder), and wore sunglasses on the red carpet (huge no-no), paparazzi nation decided to unofficially boycott the singer -- that means no pictures, no coverage, no love. Surely, she will plummet into obscurity."

First, I love that the paps think stars owe them a certain level of cooperation - unless they're just a drug-addled, drunken mess, in which case they can behave any way they please and the paps will be there en masse.

Second, I think this is a fantastic opportunity for all those average Joes and Janes to cash in - go get pictures and video of Mariah! Do it now! The paps might not care about her but the American public will not be denied! With the paps blacklisting Mariah there will be almost no competition and a higher-than-ever demand.

If the paps blacklist a few more stars they might just put themselves completely out of business.

Jim Carrey is to often portrayed as a screwball actor who often takes it a bit too over the top when, as this film clearly shows, he actually can do serious acting quite well. Put that together with the colourful Kate Winslet as his screwball girlfriend and you've got an endearingly sweet tale of love and loss.

Kirsten Dunst, Mark Ruffalo and Elijah Wood are also on hand as the guys wiping there minds and giving equally intriguing performances in the process.

Eternal Sunshine boast an excellent plot with lots of twists and turns along the way, although I'll give a word of warning that it's a film that needs to be watched twice in order to get all of the plot particularly due to its fractured narrative that will be making you say “Ahh! I get it!” by the time the credits roll.

Summing up, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is perhaps one of the most original and clever romances of modern times that will make you wan to watch it again and again.

Jim Carrey was born in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada 1962. His first move in show biz was a comedy act at yuk yuk's in Toronto where they ate him alive, but not discouraged. When he moved to L.A. in 1979 he started working at the comedy store where he meet Rodney Dangerfield and then became an opening act. His big break through came many years later in 1994 as Ace Ventura and the rest is history. Till this day he demands no less than 20 million per film because of his box office draw.

Jim Carrey plays a lawyer named Fletcher Reede that can't stop lying. He is constantly lying to his son and his son made a wish on his birthday that he couldn't lie for just one day. Watching him try not to lie for one day is cry out loud hilarious. This scene your about to watch is Jim Carrey being lead into a briefing by one of the senior partners in the firm to tell the chairman on the board what he thinks of him.

There is so much cool talent involved in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind that it’s hard to k

There is so much cool talent involved in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind that it’s hard to know where to start. Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation) is proving to be the most influential screenwriter of his generation. And if anyone can out-Spike Jonze director Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation), it’s Michel Gondry, who worked with him in the late ’90s making music videos.

Mix in two of the biggest actors of the last half-decade (Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet) and you ought to have one heck of a movie.

Brain Damage

At its core, Eternal Sunshine is a romance

A new medical procedure has become available. You can selectively erase a person from your memories. Joel (Carrey), applies to have the procedure done, and he asks if the side effects could include brain damage. Dr. Mierzwiak (Tom Wilkinson) replies “technically speaking, the procedure is brain damage.”

Joel had learned that his ex-girlfriend Clementine (Winslet) had him erased from her memories. He knew Clementine could be rash, but the severity of not just being dumped but being erased devastated him.

He decides to erase Clementine, not for revenge, but because he couldn’t bear the pain of having lost, in a manner more cruel than simple death, the first girl he’d really loved. (It’s actually a bit similar to 50 First Dates, but where that film was silly and nice, Eternal Sunshine is painful and dark).

So now Joel is having his memory swept clean. Dr. Mierzwiak conducts the initial interviews, and his technicians (Mark Ruffalo and Elijah Wood) prepare to perform the procedure.

Playing with Surrealism

The bulk of Eternal Sunshine takes place inside the mind of Joel during the process of erasing. This subjective landscape gives Kaufman and Gondry free rein to play with surreal images and notions.

Gondry uses visual gimmicks to create an interior world. In memories of Clementine at work in the bookstore, the books are turned spine-inward so that you can’t read the titles, and the signs hanging in the store fade before our very eyes. In another scene, Joel chases Clementine from one corner to the next, only to discover he’s back where he started.

Reliving his memories of Clementine just before they are destroyed, Joel realizes he doesn’t want to lose them after all, even if they pain and haunt him. He tries to wake himself from the procedure, but he can’t. In desperation, he and his Clementine figments decide to hide out in cells of memory where they don’t belong, hoping to foil the technicians. This drives them into disturbing memories of childhood and shame. One wonders what Freud or Dali would say about a boy being dared to smash a dead dove with a hammer.

One scene in particular stands out as a gorgeous example of filmed surrealism. The lovers have reached the end of land, a beach house, at night, filled with sand, and crumbling slowly into dust as the tide comes in. Defeated, they hold each other in heartbreaking farewell as the dark world rips their love out of existence.

Love Story

This behind-the-scenes talent is a boon to any film, but it’s also, frankly, a bit of a distraction. When you’re appreciating a movie’s filmmaking technique, you’re not necessarily relating to the characters. That need not be a criticism — that could be the point of a movie — but in the case of Eternal Sunshine, getting past the process and seeing into the characters and their stories would probably reveal even more interesting truths.

At its core, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a romance. Just as Being John Malkovich revealed the nature of celebrity, Eternal Sunshine has a lot to say about love. Walking through Joel’s head is like walking through Dante’s (or Matt Groening’s) rings of relationship hell. Even the title comes from a passionate poem, referring to those lucky people whose minds are unclouded with love.

Amazingly, Kaufman is able to bring this sad, chaotic mindstorm to a succinct close. With a single word, “Okay,” Kaufman writes the perfect ending. It is a simple, sweet affirmation that I assumed Kaufman was too cynical to be capable of.

Tastes

As with last week’s Spartan, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is not for all tastes. Eight people walked out of my screening, possibly believing this would be a Jim Carrey movie. It isn’t. It’s a Charlie Kaufman movie. It is very good, but it’s also very unconventional.

Years from now, it may be recognized as a classic, but this weekend, it may disappoint Jim Carrey’s fan base. Just keep in mind whose talent is really on display, and enjoy the sunshine.
