It took me awhile to learn my lesson of good boy vs bad boy. I always normally go for the bad boy. "Bad boy" meaning either the liar, the cheater, the jerk, the asshole, the manipulator, or the loser. Sometimes it could mean all of the above.

Omar had run over my heart with his fiesta orange colored clown car. He mocked my love. But for some reason, I was always really, really nice to him regardless. He was applying for another job and asked for my help in putting together a sales binder he needed. I used to only wish good upon him, so of course, I had no problem with helping. (Note: When I say I helped, I really did the book myself). His interview was coming up the next day (in Chicago) and he had to go to some dinner for his current job, so I said...just leave the stuff with me, I'll handle it while you're at you're dinner and when it's over you can come back over and we'll finish it up.

He was so gracious he said he'd bring me back dinner since I'd be working on his report binder.

A few hours later he returns to my house, hands me a to-go box...and as I excitedly open it to see what's inside, two little lonely grilled shrimp sat in there. He gave me his leftovers. Which he didn't even really have much left over to give me.

Had I not spent hours working on that stupid binder, I would have shred all of the reports in my paper shredder, dumped the shreds into the to-go box and told him to-go to hell.

Setelah dilihat-lihat, kok judulnya ada miripnya The Last Airbender. Tapi post kali ini tidak ada hu

Setelah dilihat-lihat, kok judulnya ada miripnya The Last Airbender.

Kelompok saya - kelompok A - mendapat bagian modul 02 : Getaran.

Praktikum selesai sekitar jam ½11.

Berhubung buntu...saya terpaksa harus menyiapkan tameng buat kemungkinan terburuk (KSM tetep ilang sampe UTS besok lusa) akhirnya saya sms pak Santika Wachyudin, dosen wali saya.

Akhirnya...menerapkan The Secret !!!

(Thanks, Lon !!) Setelah nyambung, ditanya-tanyain deh tuh anak, trus dia bilang di bindernya ada nama, tulisannya....Andrian Kurniady....HAH ? Andrian Kurniady ?!?!?

Bindernya warna kuning, oranye gitu lah, ukurannya kecil lagi, sedangkan binderku ukuran sedang.

Selamat mencari barang hilang !! :D

I was looking in my binder at stuff. This was like ten minutes ago, keep in mind. I found this paper of a page idea that I wrote/drew up. Pretty good idea, if I do say so myself...Anyway, not the point. Point is, that I was like damn, that's old, when did I do that? Truth is, it was yesterday, first and second period. Ummmm....!?!?!?!? I don't think it's okay for something that I did YESTERDAY to seem like it was last week?!?!?
I don't know, but my sense of time has always been screwed up, but this is a new high, well, low, for me.
Either way.....Just had to share that one.

Next thing on the agenda....
I had a great last night.
I should take pictures of the pretty pictures I drew. They are just that great. Wanna know how great they are? They are THAT great. Ya I don't know what that means, but it sounds cool. Either way, I would like to share. Ha ha ha....I love sharing!
My pretty little pictures, what I drawed. They are awesome. Might scare you though, they are definately not for people who think that life is pretty. Because, well, it's just sort of dark and creepy. See, the things like that always come out. Shouldn't be too surprising, of course. That is life.

I'm bored. Really really bored.
I was on Plurk last night talking back and forth with Brett. Don't ask, just go along with it. Anyway....
It was interesting. And on Facebook too, which was funny. And highly entertaining. Which is of course, greatness.

Ummmm........more things to share.
I don't think I have anything else to share.
Well, other than the mental abilities that I have are slowly disintegrating. That and the fact that the fabric of my brain is being ruined slowly. Yet surely. I'd try to prove it, but it wouldn't be all that great.
I hate it. Because I literally feel stupider. It's not a good feeling, to feel stupider than you were the day before, by no fault of your own.
It's really not a good feeling.
Not at all.

Hey guess what!?!?!?!?
I don't know, I thought you knew.
HA HA HA.....
See??!???!?!?!?!??!?!?!?1?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?

I know why the economy is so bad.
The government wants us to be scared. So they can get more power over us. So that way they can set more rules and regulations over us. So that way they can be the ruler of all, as if they don't have enough power as it is.
It's called scare tactics (which used to be a tv show, which was a really good one). And I think that's why the economy is so bad. Because the government is all over it. And they are winning, for we are letting them spend 700 million (3000 for every single person in this country) on this shit. All because the economy - which they have control over, of course - has gotten to be so bad that we are steadily in decline, probably to a depression.
This is why I don't want to grow up. For WE will have to pick up the fucking mess that they left. WE WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES THAT THEY ARE MAKING. And there is nothing we can do about it. Because the government is in control.
I'm going to become a legal adult in a recession. In a depression. And I can't do a thing about it, the people before me chose this path, and I DON'T WANT IT....!!!!
See the conundrum that they have made. I will have their heads on a platter, then put it in a stake in the front lawn so the world can see. The TRAVESTIES THAT THEY HAVE MADE....!!! I WILL MAKE THEM FALL..!!!!!!

I don't know, just seems like the world has gone to crap.
And you know what, I don't wanna live in a crappy world.
I don't mind the crime and I don't mind the raping and the murder and all that other stuff. I could care less about that. It's the bad people of the world - the bribed companies, the CEOs making millions, the governments that want to regulate every aspect of a person's life, the people that think that they can dictate what a person can or can't do simply because they don't agree.
OH WELL.

This is my version of using the Franklin Covey system. Please realise I got my first planner in 199

This is my version of using the Franklin Covey system. Please realise I got my first planner in 1993 in the paper form, then converted to the electronic version on a Palm when my binder was stolen in 2001. The way I do the steps may very well not mesh with Steven Covey's more recent publications. I would love to read his more recent book about the 8th Habit but I am still stuck back at the Quadrant level of prioritising my day. Ahh well, it has still improved my life and as a busy homeschooling mother with a new baby I am happy with my level of productivity right now.

From my pages with Copyright mark 1999.

Step 1 Discover what matters most to you by
- clarifying your values,
- identifying and defining your roles;
- thinking about who you want to be,want to have, want to do; and
- creating a mission statement.

Step 2 Plan what matters most with the following steps:

 a. From what you want to be,want to have, want to do create goals, remembering the S.M.A.R.T. (simple, measurable, achievable, reward and have a time frame) system. I create a master goal sheet/index card for each goal I know will have multiple steps. At first I brainstorm them and the ideas are all over the place but then I write them out in order and put dates beside each step. problems-into-solutions-and-goals

 b. Monthly and/or Weekly planning - Maybe some of you can plan out a month in advance but in my world of changing children and other life intrusions weekly planning is the most useful time frame for me. Once a week I go through my values, read through my statements linked to my roles and read through my goals. I note down a list of things I would like to work on in the following week from my goals, add in a focus for any roles that have been lacking in attention lately such as time with my poor hubby without children interruptions and then turn to my calender. On my big calendar (A4 page folded up inside my small file box of index cards) I note down days that may best suit actioning any of the items on my list.

 c. On a daily basis I re-read my roles and values, my mission statement or inspiring thought then I check my calendar, write things down on post its to add to my routine, check my school plans and add those notes in too. (If you have come to this post first in my blog please check out here how I put together my index cards and album.)

If I manage to have an end of day rehash time I cross off the things done from my goal cards, remove the post it notes and check that my actions matched my priorities in life. Sometimes this review is ugly. Actually considering my days with a new baby make that most days are "ugly". lol

I may clarify any of the above steps more in other posts if there is interest.

Best wishes,
CV

So here you are again. Summer’s almost done, and you’re probably back in class or about

So here you are again. Summer's almost done, and you're probably back in class or about to start. That usually means a refreshing new experience; you come back to new classes, some new teachers, new friends, and good old stress, coming back for the next 9 to 10 months. In this guide, broken up into small posts, I'll try to show you how to get settled into (and improve on) last year's routines. I've tried by hardest to make it so that if you follow them, you can increase your performance in school, and you might even be able to make teachers more friendly with you. The list is simple, and I hope I've made it clear enough. So without further dialogue, here are the first few tips I've come up with. This post is about picking the stuff you end up using at school.

Like it or not, most teachers will grade you poorly if you make a bad first impression, and showing up to school with nothing but the clothes on your back is the first way to make a pretty bad one. To prevent that, buy everything you need at least two weeks before school starts. That leaves you free for the rest of summer and gets rid of most of the rush (and price escalation) you may run into if you buy supplies at a store. If you do go in person, I recommend places like Staples, Office Depot and Office Max, because they have more to choose from than what other places usually have. At the same time, stores like Walmart and CVS do have cheaper prices, so shopping at one of them is fine if you don't mind the lack of choice.

I'll start with the stuff that's essential for almost anybody-clothes and bags to carry everything in. If you're reading this, that means you have internet access, so you can probably afford clothes. I'm not a design consultant, so I'll just tell you to make sure you have enough pieces of clothing that comply with your school's dress code. If you're truly starting over with your wardrobe, I'd recommend a minimum of 7 t-shirts and pants, plus some other types of tops (hoodies, sweaters, etc.) and bottoms (shorts). Vary your selection a little bit, but don't show up in black chains one day and bubblegum pink the next.

That brings us to luggage. If you have a bag that works and you're happy with it, that's fine. That's what most people do anyway. But if you're in the market, make sure you know what you need, and stick to it. I look for a bag that has at least two large pockets, mesh for a water bottle, two straps, and one or more small pockets for things like pens and index cards. I think that's all that most people need, and it's what most of people have. What you probably don't need is a long list, but includes features like iPod and cell phone holders (that's why jeans have pockets), built-in pencil pouches, and a strap for "conveniently carrying an attachable lunch tote." I really can't think of anybody who will really use those. At the same time, we're all different, so you might need or not need some of those things. At the same time, if you find something that has what you need, but also some unnecessary extras, that's fine. Just don't let built-in speakers be your one big factor. Again, just make a list of what you're looking for before you come up with a list of possible choices.

Once you've got your bag taken care of, you still have to get things like pencils, pens, and erasers. These are pretty easy to pick, as we've all used them for years. Just make sure you have two or three cases of lead (graphite) if you use mechanical pencils, because if you don't have any extras during a writing assignment or Scantron test, it's a pain to have to look around the classroom for somebody who can loan you an extra. Regardless of whether you use a pen or pencil, you should make sure you get at least two checking pens, one plain pen, one pencil, and a highlighter. Coloring utensils are also helpful to have, but you can usually just keep a set at home.

You also need organizational materials. If that hasn't dawned on you yet, it's really time to fix that. For folders and binders, you should have a grand total of the amount of classes you have, plus one folder. The ideal number of binders is usually half of the number of folders you have. In my case, I have six hours per school day, so I have five folders (four for classes, plus one for immediate tasks like homework) and two binders (half of four). If your school doesn't provide you with one, you should also have an agenda book or notepad. I have one of each, and they've both helped me in a huge way ever since I began carrying them.

Besides the essentials, I find that it's also helpful to have some stationary items with me all the time. I mentioned index cards and pocket notepads, and that's really all you need. I use index cards to write down important material for tests and quizzes--especially for subjects like Social Studies, English, and Science. Writing the hard parts down the day before the test helps you to memorize important material, and I haven't had worse than an 80% on a test since then. When I use a notepad, it's to jot down ideas and important tasks that I know I'll have to do. Again, that's worked great for me. You'll also need traditional notebooks. I find that it's best to have one for every class you have minus one. That should be able to get you through the semester just fine. I recommend getting spiral notebooks with at least 70 sheets, but most people find that having one or two with a lot more really helps. Following these rules, I have three 70-sheet notebooks and two with at least 150 sheets. I've done it that way for three years, and I've always ended up using almost all of the paper in there.

That's my guide. Sorry, it looks like it's a bit long, but it's the shortest I was able to get it even after cutting down on a large portion. I plan to get better at keeping posts brief, but for now, this is the best I can do. I hope it helps, and I look forward to any feedback you can provide.

I hate binders. I really do. Those stupid three ring binders take up so much space. And the mass to volume ratio is low. I hate them; they are absolutely fucking huge. For me to write in them I need to assume an uncomfortable writing stance.

Now this wouldn't be so much of a problem if I wasn't forced to use a binder. But, what do you know? I'm forced to use a binder.

Now really. If a student doesn't want to use a binder is that really so bad? Yes, handouts will be easier to lose, but I am willing to take upon that responsibility in exchange for comfort with materials that I am comfortable using.

That's why I have a Top 100 Reasons Why We Hate Three Ring Binders list in each of my binders.

Ok I have a few topics to talk about today, first off is a quick one which I don't feel like dwelling on..my daily views have been steadily and painfully declining..*sigh*
Anyywayz, I found out my prefect/homeroom for school yesterday :). I also got to see who would be in my homeroom class. None of my friends are in the same class as I am but it's alright, I found 3 of the people on facebook, and one has accepted my friend request so far. So yea that's good I guess, at least I can know someone in my homeroom before I get there. I have my orientation on wednesday (the 27th) so I'm looking forward to that. Hopefully I will get my schedule and other classes, and I believe we'll be doing a walkthrough of the building and stuff like that so I can't wait.

It's actually 1:30 in the morning right now, and I'm still writing this (I actually started to write this yesterday night but stopped and vowed to finish it today but the I remember about the Olympics Closing Ceremony so I just wrote an entire blog post devoted to that. But since I want to post things in correct sequence, I have to finish this one before I post the Olympics one). I'm hoping that that post will bring me back up in views instead of the evil little decline that's going on right now. By the way, this post is all me, unwinding and unloading my thoughts on here, as apposed to my Olympics post, which is more of like a report or an article. I just wanted to mention that because you may notice how sometimes my posts differ from time to time. This is the real me, the real blogger that I'm proud of because I'm only a student who likes to write about his life. But there are other times when I go into my journalist mode. And I'm proud of that too, but that's feels different. I guess you could say it feels like a job sometimes (but a job that I love to do, and I am devoted to).

Hm..this makes me think. Should I be a proffesional journalist? I've considered that before, but I'm not 100 % sure what occupation I would like to have when the time comes. Of course, I don't have to know right now, but it's always something to think of. I always thought I should become a lawyer since whenever there is something I firmly believe in, I will fight for it. I have a love of proving what's right and what's wrong and I certainly am a fighter. I love using facts to prove something. Plus my mom always used to say that I should be a lawyer because of how well I argue whenever we fight lol. So that always stuck in my mind for some reason. Not to mention that being a lawyer pays VERY well. So that would be a solid job for me I suppose. Of course that would mean spending an additional 2-3 years in law school, aside from the normal 4 years of college.

But then I think of the Media major in my high school. Now, while I've always thought that I would be going straight for law, when the media major showed up I was like whoa. I loved it. L-O-V-E-D loved it. I swear. It's something I truly love and am passionate about. It includes some of my favorite things such as Photography, FIlm, Photo Manipulation, Computer Graphics, Advertising, Website Desiging, uh it's so amazing. I LOVE IT! Not to mention that it dabbles a little into journalism because of advertising, photography, film and photo manip. (I'll talk more about journalism in a moment). So I'm not exactly sure what kind of job I would get out of that, but I know it's something I love to do, and I do on my own time as a hobby. I suppose I could be a graphic designer, designing websites or logos, or graphics for stores or restaurants and things like that. If I do well in that, that could ALSO pay big bucks, I mean, think about it, designing websites or spreads (Or making COMMERCIALS!) for major companies like oh I don't know, Nike, or major events like the Olympics! I mean that would be sick! I'd love it. Or I could be a photographer for magazines, or a film maker...so many possibilities that I love! However, the only problem is that it's an

ART FORM

and as many people know, to be an Artist is risky. Because if you make it big and get famous and do really well, you're set. but..if you don't and people don't like you're work, or you've got artist block for a while or you lose your touch or you may have one great piece one moment and one bad piece the next but everyone expects you to be perfect just like your previous work...you're gonna fall flat on your face. So it's tough..

Ok another possible option is something that I also love to do and I'm really good at, Acting. I'm going to be joining the drama club for sure in High School because I love to act. I could do it whenever I want to actually, which is freaking scary because I could really make someone believe certain things. I mean, I remember this one time where I tricked Emily into thinking that I had a crush on her and that I wanted to know if she wanted to go to the [middle school] Prom with me. I even managed to get all red and puffy eyed as if I was about to cry when she sort of was weirded out that I was asking her since we were friends and it got quite awkward because I was doing a good job lmao. Anyway I told her right after that I was just acting and we laughed about it (and I got a dollar out of that lmao, it actually was a bet, mah friend Jean payed me a dollar lmao). And another time that I kept acting and then laughing telling my friend Olivia that I was acting, and I did that so many times in a row and she finally was like, all paranoid not knowing whether or not I was acting or not lmao, it was hilarious. Also I joined the Media Club in my middle school and acted in a short film that we never finished because the "director/camera guy" was very tempermental and the other actors fooled around a lot (except for my friend who played the main character who was very dilligent about acting). But anyway, so I love acting and I'm good at it so there's another possible future, though it would be hard to get started in that.

And lastly is an occupation as a writer. Now, when it comes to writing as an occupation, I have two branches in mind: Journalism and Novel Writing. I could be a reporter/journalist or a writer of realistic fiction and/or fantasy novels.

So yea, so I guess I have 4.2 ideal job options: law, arts & media, acting and literature [journalist or novelist].

Ugh, how can I choose, they all have their pros and cons..

Eh anyway, that's the future, how about the present? Today I bought some school supplies. Actually, I only bought two things, but it's really all I'll need when it comes to major must-haves. I bought a blue Mead Five Star 5-subject notebook spiral notebook w/ pocket dividers, college ruled of course (I cannot stand wide ruled and I will refuse to use it for school every day)

Like the picture above only it's a darker, nicer blue.

And I got a black [Mead] Five Star Flex Hybrid Notebinder

It's like an all in one sort of thing and it's really great. You see, at first I was thinking in addition to the 5 sub I should get a 3 sub just in case I run out of room for one or two subs in the 5 subject book and Ill just use the 3 sub. (I got a buy one get one free deal on any Mead Five Star products by the way, so I could pick and choose what pair I wanted). But then I thought about it and figured that the Mead notebinder is lighter, softer and more flexible therefore making more room in my bookbag and less to carry. Not to mention that it works both as a notebook and a binder. Plus, it hold more than a 1" binder and yet it's not as bulky or big! And, it has lots of room to put sheets that cannot be put in the binder (if they don't have holes), because it has pockets in the first two plastic dividers (so it works like a folder too) not to mention that it has specific pockets to hold index cards. There are enough dividers that if I put in enough looseleaf filler paper in, I could easily make it another 5 subject notebook. But I'm free to make it anything from a 1 sub to a 5 sub and remove/add/store pages at my convienence!

So having both the 5 sub spiral and the 1-5 sub notebook/binder/folder trybrid is a great way for me to have all the notebooks I need, a binder that holds more than a 1" binder, and a folder all mimized into two simple flexible books.

The hybrid (or as I like to say trybrid) notebinder cost $12.99 and I got the $9 five sub for free in a 'Buy One Get One Free' deal at Rite Aid. I would usually go to my local CVS which is only a few blocks away but the Rite Aid had better prices and the better deal (at CVS it was buy TWO get one free, at Rite Aid it was buy ONE get one free) and CVS didn't have the notebinder anyway.

Anyway, so I got those, now I only need to buy my pens and pencils and stuff. And I already have a USB Flash Drive [that I bought last year] which I'll definitely be needing for one of my classes to store my work. So now I'm just going to get a few more things like a mini stapler to keep in my bookbag since those always come in handy if I forget to staple a paper or essay at home, and a post-it flag highlighter or a post-it flag pen.

Ugh, not to mention that I might need to buy a TI 83+ graphing calculator later on, it's like 90 bucks or someting. It's not mandatory that I buy one since they usually will supply one for use during class, but I know it will be extremely useful to have one of my own since I'd be able to have it whenever I need it, not to mention that I'd know that it'll work properly unlike some school calculators which may be damaged or malfunctioning or whatever... or smell strange and be very sticky like a few I encountered in middle school..some people do some questionable things to school property lmao. So at least with having my own calculator I'll be fine..but I don't think I can get it right now since I could be buying a whole lot of other school supplies with the money that would go into that one calculator. And I don't even need one yet so it's not like I have to have one immediately, I have time. so yea.

By the way, you may have realized that I haven't posted my usually blog entry every day lol, I usually have at least one post per day but I've been a little busy so ya. Anyway, I think this makes up for it since it's like 2000 words lmao. And holy crap its 3 in the morning already! alright, that's all for this entry. Peace.

Next, find some awesome binders:

With the painful increase of petrol the desire to drive electric cars is on the rapid increase. London is not risking slipping behind the times. Boris Johnson, the new London mayor has already started to instigate a support body for electric car drivers. The mayor of London has agreed a multi million pound deal with an electrical component supplier to set up more 'charging points' across London. These charging points enable the driver of the electrical vehicle to re-charge the cars batteries at a fee of around £70. Some privately owned car parks already have these re-charge points in place. Now we could begin to see them all over the place!

Component supply will evidently shoot up with the rapid increase in this industry. Yet the need for super expensive petrol will thankfully disapate.

So I'm on a wild-goose-chase.
A chase to get everything that I can onto my computer. Which probably means nothing to you, dear reader, at this point in time. I'm going to change that, of course.
So, I have a whole bunch of papers. I always have. I write a lot, you see. And I save it all. All of it - unless it's a to-do list. Those get set aside, to-do, and never get done, then get thrown away. Because by the time I get back to them, it's too late to do the stuff. But everything else gets saved. I have a folder in this folder-hangy thing that gets stuff put in it, and after a while, like a year or so, I go through it and do with it what I see fit. First, like freshman year, I used to put them all in a secret hiding spot. But then I'd forget about them all, so I upgraded to a binder. But then, the binder got too big, and I was using like a three-inch one. So, I mean, I was having issues. So I decided to go through it all and just keep the important, good ones, that had real meaning, other than just the normal stuff. So I did that. Might I mention that this is all loose-leaf paper - actual notebooks are a different story for later. Anyway, after that idea didn't work out too well, I said screw it and just typed all of it up and saved it on my computer. Yes, right now, I have the most important things to me sitting in a folder on my Desktop. How smart am I? <--This is the main reason why I want an external hard-drive, or I'll even go with some CD-RWs. Not like I need it off my computer, but I need it saved somewhere else, just in case - I'm totally paranoid that I'll loose my information somehow.
But anyway, I now have a whole bunch of stuff that doesn't really fit into this folder-hangy-system that I've got going now, and I need to put somewhere. Which, the logical place is the computer. So, I have to type it all up. Which, there's a really good amount of stuff to be typing up.
Then, there's also my other stuff that I'm wanting to type up. For about a year and a half now, I've kept all my stories in a folder. Finished and unfinished. Well, the folder's getting a little too-full now, and I have nowhere else to put them all. So, here we go again, it's all getting typed up. I've been meaning to do this for quite a long time, but have never got around to it. What I want more, however, is to type them all up, and print them all out. One problem - I don't have a printer. So, that idea's out the window. For now. Hopefully I can get a printer sometime - hello, they're not that expensive, and Christmas isn't that far away (it's too late to get one for my birthday :-P).
But anyway, that's my project, until it's done.
If I ever start. Hopefully I will today, but I don't know.
We shall see.
I'm such a procrastinator!

Before I get sidetracked with my crazy stories, I have to tell you one thing. My good friend Heathe

Before I get sidetracked with my crazy stories, I have to tell you one thing. My good friend Heather, of Anka's Treasures finally started a blog. She is probably the hottest quilt designer around right now. (Her husband certainly thinks so!) So, stop over and see what she's up to!

This has been a wild couple of days. Saturday night I spent three hours in the emergency room with Kid 4. She had a bad wipe out on her bike. We were concerned that she'd broken her leg. Thank God, she just scraped it up!

Today was another story. I left at 8:00 AM for a town an hour away to do a big Sam's Club run. I got there and locked my keys in the car. I found a locksmith that could come in 15 minutes. He couldn't unlock it because of a security feature on the car. I hate cars that are smarter than I am. I then called Kid 1 and she drove an hour to bring me my keys. (I did my Sams shopping while I waited.) The keys she took along weren't for my car! So we loaded up the groceries and went home. When I got home, I looked in the cupboard where we keep spare keys, and they weren't there. So I called the dealership and had a key cut. (Are you following all this???) Myself and Kid 2 hitched a ride back, got my car opened, and bought more stuff at Sam's. When I got home tonight, I found out that my spare keys are in Texas with my BBB. That stands for Brat Baby Brother. I loaned him my car a couple of months ago and the spare keys went home with him.

So, a job that should have taken about 4 hours took about 12 hours.

Why the big grocery run, you ask??? My sister and her family are here from Texas, and we're heading for Canada in the morning. That's 13 people to feed. Boy, are we going to eat good. And I'm not doing any dishes. I'm bringing home the bacon and frying it up in the pan!!!

While I'm gone, I'm going to finish Hydrangea and work on my two Silk Garden sock projects.

Would you like to see what I made the other night??? It's probably about the cutest thing I've ever done and it was a blast to make!!!

It's my "I'm smarter than a 4th grader" binder. Since I'm homeschooling Kid 4 this year, I'm trying to convince myself that I can do this. You see, I have a business degree. I'm not a teacher, nor do I think like one. However, I'm pretty certain that props like this will help.

I'm off to bed. I have to do everything tomorrow morning that I was going to do today. Yikes!!!

See you in a week. I can't even imagine life with no internet, but I'll get used to it!

[wp_caption id="attachment_158" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Source: Greenroom Eco"][/wp_caption]

For most consultations, I meet my brides-to-be at coffee shops and have no clue what they look like, but I always know who they are. I go with my gut and choose the girl with the giant tote bag filled with an overloaded, jam-packed, worn out looking binder. Ah, The Planning Binder... every bride has one! It is where you keep all of your important documents, contracts, fabric swatches, reception menus, seating lists, guests lists.... the list could go one forever. Here is my list of everything you should carry in your planning binder and somethings you shouldn't.

Break everything into sections

Planning Timeline & Planning Checklists. Many websites offer templates where you can change the dates to fit your schedule. Having a constant reminder as to what you should be doing and when will be great when you start suffering from weddingitis. (A disease in which many brides and grooms suffer; causing temporary loss of memory, sleeplessness, nausea, anxiety and fatigue. Also causing a rare condition called bridezillaphelia, specifically found in females, resulting in short spurts of rage and involuntary outbursts of emotion.) It is also a great idea to enter these items into your Outlook, Google or Yahoo! calendars. This will create daily reminders of where you should be in the grand scheme of things and send them to your email address.

Contracts - What is included in the package you booked with your photographer? How many corsages did you order? What was the total cost for the DJ? These questions can easily be answered if you keep your contracts in one location. Too many couples set their contracts aside, lose track of them and then when something doesn't seem right they have no way of checking what they originally signed up for. I would recommend putting all of your vendor contact info on one handy sheet, also. This will make it easier when you forget your baker's email address or the street address of your reception venue.

Decor Ideas- It is always a great idea to get fabric swatches in your wedding colors and carry them with you. Inspiration can strike at strange times and it would be great to have something to compare your purchases to in order to ensure that you don't buy the wrong shade of pink or green. It is also a great idea to print up or tear photos our of magazines and create a mini-inspiration board. This can help you when meeting with vendors or just showing off your ideas to your bridesmaids.

Guest List - This may be one of the most important lists of all. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have heard of people forgetting to invite someone, or "My mom wants to invite her co-worker's second cousin, twice removed and her 3 kids, but we don't have the room." It is always smart to know where you stand with guest counts and seating arrangements. This way, if you think of a name, you can jot it down really quick. Or if you have to add a family of 4, you can have backup info when you tell your mom "NO!".

Budget - My absolute MUST HAVE is a spreadsheet of your budget, kept up to date, with a running total. It is so important to know what you are spending because the money goes so fast. (Unless there is no budget and the sky is the limit for spending money!) When you are paying off $5000 here and $2500 there, it can get confusing to keep track. Always write due dates, price breakdowns, how much your spending limit was and how much you really spent. Excel is really great for this.

Bridal Party Info - Keep all of your bridal party contact info in one place. You will be needing to contact them more often than you think. Your Maid Of Honor may need the info for your shower, the Best Man may need it for the bachelor party, your mom may want it to send out reminders. Include name, address, phone number, email address and you can even use it to keep track of sizing for dresses and tuxedos.

Do Not Keep In Your Binder

Personal Info - Please do not keep ANYTHING with credit card numbers, social security numbers, or any other personal information that you wouldn't want someone to have. While a binder can be important, you don't want your life ruined if you lose it.

Non-Sense - Why would you keep an empty Kit-Kat wrapper in there? You will feel much better if you clean out the bottom or your tote bag so that every time you pull out the binder, you don't end up flinging a Kleenex across the room.

Marriage License - Do not, under any circumstance, keep this in your binder. If you lose it the day of the wedding..... let's just say, that wouldn't be so nice.

Every Email - Instead of printing up every single email, add a "notes" section and write a very short summary of what the email covered. If you print up every single thing, you will end up with a 40 pound overloaded mess. The key to organization is streamlining. K.I.S.S.... Keep it simple, stupid! (Ok, you aren't stupid.... but the acronym stays!)

Other Things To Think Of

Keep a pen and notepad in your tote bag at all times.

Label each section appropriately. It is a huge time saver.

Consider using plastic sleeves rather than just 3-hole punching. This will save your documents from wear and tear.

Dress it up a bit. You will more than likely be carrying and looking at this binder for over a year. You might as well make it fun!

Good luck creating your perfect planner! If you don't feel skilled enough to create your own, there are many great options that you can purchase pre-made. Just visit your local book store or check out some on-line resources. If you have questions about where to find great planners or more details about what to include, leave us a comment and we'd be happy to respond!
