I don’t have time to read or to write blogs nowadays. But just a little thing that doesn

I don't have time to read or to write blogs nowadays. But just a little thing that doesn't take too much time... here are some stuff I dug up on youtube. Well known songs, translated to their real original languages!

We will start with Aladdin in Arabic!

And then we have Hercules in Greek

Then two French songs. Aristocats and Beauty and the Beast:

Then two songs in German. Well, it's more general European folklore, but the stories are most known for being written down by the Grimm brothers, so we'll say it's German. Snow White and Cinderella.

And of course, the Lion King in Zulu - this is the only version of the song where the entire song, including the chant in the beginning, is in the same language!

From far south, we're going far north - here's the Little Mermaid in Danish!

And off to the Jungle - here's the Jungle book in Hindi!

And, as the last one, I've saved the best (and the only non-Disney) - here's Prince of Egypt in Hebrew! The voice of Yocheved (Moses' mother) is Ofra Haza (may she rest in peace) - the same as the voice in the original English.

I found this awesome music theory review of I PROPOSE ON MY KNEES off Google. Copyrights by the original owner, I guess, but it was posted on a public forum so I"m reposting it here!

Any musicians please correct me if I'm wrong!

The song starts off in the F# minor key, and switches between that and A major, which is no issue since they are related keys. Like all teen rock songs, and many popular songs, there is a sudden shift in key to G# minor/B major, which is a modulation up one tone (i.e. two semitones).

The lyrics use a dual-line rhyme system, where the first two stanzas simple-rhyme, and the last two simple-rhyme too. The structure of the song is A-B-C-D-B-E-B-F format. This is not what you'd call a classical format, but is a result of "B" being the chorus, and "D" being the bridge. Thus, it probably makes more sense to express the form as:

Verse 1 - Chorus - Verse 2 - Verse 3 - Chorus - Bridge - Chorus - Coda

The song is therefore made up of three verses, a chorus, bridge, and coda. One verse comes before the first time the chorus is played, and then followed by two verses. The chorus is then replayed, before shifting into the bridge. The chorus is repeated after the bridge, where a shift of key occurs. The song then happily finishes with a coda, like many pop songs.

The content of the lyrics utilize simple-rhyme, metaphorical language, and other poetic features. It also features a number of verbative words which are somewhat loquacious, at least in the teenage sense, in that the words are exclusive to "teenagers"; that is jargon, used by teenagers, which stress the tween/teen target audience of the song.

The voice is rather breathy, but is the "normal sound" these days on teen pop records. Phrasing is also used to express where each stanza starts and finishes.

This is a part of my series ‘the Unhelpful genie’

Aladdin rubbed a shiny, antique, go

This is a part of my series 'the Unhelpful genie'

Aladdin rubbed a shiny, antique, golden lamp; I rubbed a £9, shitty, plastic lamp from Matalan. Aladdin travelled deep into the unknown and risked his life for his lamp; I got a lift from my Mum to our local town. You get what you pay for.

So, long story short, I rub my lamp accidentally one day, and out pops a genie. I know what you're thinking, some huge, big, interesting thing with a funny voice like in the movies. Not quite.

Immediatly, I start thinking up my three wishes, when the Genie speaks. "Don't think you know the drill, sister. I have a few questions for you." I looked at him, surprised and concerned. "I'll give you choices, but your wishes are far from unlimited." Oh joy. Turns out my Genie is in charge here, and he essentially just makes me choose my fate by giving me two options.

Which would you rather be for 48 hours? A man, or an animal.

Since this is quite a broad questions, there are several variables which depend on my answer. Can I choose any animal, or is it luck of the draw? Do I have my own brain if I am an animal? Can i speak as an animal? If I choose to be a man, can I choose who exactly? Am I still myself, just in male form?

So let's say, the answers to the above are yes you can choose, you have your own brain, you cannot speak, you can choose who and you are yourself. Let's get considering!

I am instantly drawn towards animal, purely because it is so different. Being male would be exciting and new, but you are still a human being, whereas being an animal is a whole other species. However, not being able to talk could be a problem, and also, there is the threat of the unknown. If I were to be a wild animal, I wouldn't know how to hunt or look after myself. Therefore, I would probably choose to be someones pet. Although, when I start imagining being somebodies pet for 2 days, I'm not excited. When I imagine being a man, I am excited.

Ok, so there's the obvious. I'm not going to act all mature: part of the attraction towards being male is that I would like a penis. There, I wrote it: penis. I just want to know what it feels like to have one... I don't even know. Don't judge me.

As for choosing any man I could be, I'd just want to be average (but good looking.) I'd want to know what the average boy goes through day to day. I think it would also help me generally to get to know how a boy thinks and reacts in certain situations, and I'd gain an insight.

So that one was pretty easy, even if my gut reaction was completely wrong.

Man.

Ontem eu fui ao espetáculo Princesas (do Disney On Ice).

Diferente do Holiday On Ice (com o espetáculo Pernalonga e Seus Amigos On Ice), o Disney On Ice sabe (como ninguém) equilibrar todos os elementos do espetáculo. Não estão entendendo nada? Então, por favor, releiam o post (antes de continuar) Holiday On Ice.

Enfim, para quem se interessou, os ingressos do Princesas estão disponíveis na Ticketmaster (cliquem aqui).

Chapter 6

Aladdin didn’t go to the city today. Both of the days were bad and he still hadn’t been a big man. He was annoyed and he wanted to talk to genie.

So, he went outside the village and made the hair hot. The genie appeared after two minutes.

‘What command, my lord?’ The genie said, respectfully.

‘What kind of advice you gave me. No, this is a hard job and I can’t do it.’ Aladdin said, very angry.

‘What job?’ The genie asked.

‘That job of being a big famous man. Two days I have been in the city and I have been back with either my ribs or my leg taken off. No no no, I can’t do it. Tell me an easy advice.’ Aladdin said.

‘My lord, you have given up that early. Give it some time at least.’ The genie said, smiling.

‘No man, I told you. It isn’t easy.’ Aladdin said.

‘Then how will you become a big man?’ the genie asked.

‘Is there any other way except this one? Aladdin didn’t even work in his life in the story. How come I have to work?’ Aladdin asked.

‘How many times I have told you that the world is changed and it’s been thousand years since Aladdin. Now the world is ending and so am I.’ The genie said.

‘Then you tell the people not to bother me.’ Aladdin said, foolishly.

‘Okay, I will tell them. Now you know for every good deed you have to suffer some hard things. Now if you only show them your man power they can’t even touch you.’ The genie said.

This made Aladdin feel much better. He somehow would face them and try to defend himself. He had decided he would suffer the beatings to be a big man. He would do any thing to be a famous man.

‘Anything else, my lord?’ The genie asked.

‘No, you can go. I have enough money.’ Aladdin said and the genie disappeared.

After home, he went straight to the city. He had his hope up again. After the bus dropped, he gave some money to the poor men and made his way to the city. He went to the other side of the city. Just a little further, he halted and saw a big building with windows and boards on it. There was something written on the boards which he couldn’t see because he was standing too far. He thought this sure had to be a castle. Then he began thinking if this is a castle then who’s is it and he remembered genie was saying that there are no kings left in this world. But where did the castle came from then?

He was just thinking about this, a man walked past Aladdin. Aladdin stopped him.

‘What is it?’ The man asked.

‘Brother, tell me whose castle is this?’ Aladdin asked.

‘Castle?’ The man asked and began laughing hard.

‘Huh? What happened?’ Aladdin asked, watching him laugh.

‘Oh man, this is not a castle. This is a cinema.’ The man explained.

‘Oh right. Cinema.’ Aladdin understood what he meant.

‘Yeah, and you should come in the evening. There is a lot of crowd here in the evening.’ The man said.

‘Oh really? Then I would come here in the evening definitely.’ Aladdin said, amazed.

He wandered around the city all day. Nothing happened that day. He thought this is not going good. Nobody knew him. If this would carry on like this, he would never be a big man.

In the evening, he went to the cinema. He saw there really was a big crowd of people gathering. He saw big queues were forming in front of the desk. He thought why there are big queues and he saw two or three people going through the doors next to the desk. Aladdin wondered and joined the queue. There was so much crowd and noise that you couldn't hear a thing. Aladdin was in the queue looking at the man ahead of him. He had some money in his hand. Another boy approached him.

‘How many tickets you got?’ The boy asked, casually.

‘Three.’ The man in the queue replied.

‘Can you get one for me? You need money.’ The boy said. It seemed they were friends.

‘No its okay.’ The man said. Aladdin was thinking what the tickets are for. He obviously didn’t know they were for the movie. He thought there wasn’t a bus that they were buying tickets for. He didn’t know what was going on. The guys in front of Aladdin began to chat and Aladdin listened to them.

‘Man, what a great picture. I am here to watch it the third time.’ The first guy said.

‘Yeah I’ve watched it once. Tarzan had done a very good job.’ The other guy said.

‘How was the lion and Tarzan’s fight?’ The first man asked.

‘It was brilliant. Makes us wanna see it over and over.’ The guy replied.

But poor Aladdin didn’t know who was Tarzan and the lion. What fight? He heard a lion was the king of the jungle. Tarzan might be one of the dangerous creatures in the jungles.

Aladdin saw the guy paid at the desk. It was his turn now. He took out some money and handed it over under the glass. The man behind the desk gave him a ticket and his change. He followed the queue to a man standing in a kind of uniform. He took Aladdin’s ticket and tore it in two. He gave one-half to Aladdin and chucked the other one in the bin. Aladdin saw this and became angry. He thought that he had paid so much for this and this guy here is tearing it in pieces. Aladdin didn’t think of anything else except grabbing the guy’s shirt. The guy looked at him.

‘What's the matter?’ he asked, sounding very angry.

‘You tore my ticket in two. Give me my money back or else I’ll give you two punches!’ Aladdin shouted at him.

The gatekeepers came and pulled Aladdin. They thought he’s some kind of stupid villager who has never seen a cinema before. They laughed at him.

‘What are you laughing at? You’ve wasted my ticket and you’re laughing.’ Aladdin shouted again.

‘Be patient my friend,’ one of the gatekeepers said. ‘Look here what I’ve got.’ Aladdin looked in his hand. He had a bundle of half tickets.

‘Like this every one’s ticket are ripped in two. Now you go in and enjoy the movie.’ The gatekeeper said. Aladdin was embarrassed but quietly he went in the hall to watch the movie. There were lots of chairs and people. Aladdin spotted an empty chair and settled down.

Then after ten minutes, the hell went dark and quiet.

‘Man, what happened here. Who turned the lights off?’ Aladdin stood up and began shouting. Nobody answered him.

‘I am saying turn the lights on. Somebody will get lost or something. Turn the lights on.’ Aladdin shouted again and the guy next to him pulled him down. Aladdin was very worried.

‘Sit down. Sit down.’ There were few voices and laughs behind Aladdin.

‘I won’t sit down.’ Aladdin yelled turning back. 'Where are you? I can't see you.'

‘Who is this stupid kid? Let me see.’ A voice came.

Then the screen went bright and the adverts were on.

‘Man what were you trying to do? You in here first time.’ The man next to Aladdin asked.

‘Yeah, this is my first time.’ Aladdin replied.

‘Then be quiet. There are guys here who can chuck you outta the buildings. Shhh.’ The man said and Aladdin went quiet.

The movie started at last. It was a jungle scene and Tarzan was swinging through trees. He was fast.

‘Is he a man or a monkey?’ Aladdin said, aloud.

‘Be quiet.’ And Aladdin went quiet. He didn’t spoke through out the movie again. There was a lion and an elephant. There was a sudden appearance of the lion that scared the hell out of Aladdin. He screamed loudly and fell on the lap of the woman sitting on his left. The woman screamed as well. This disturbed the audience. Everyone stood up to see what happened. Two men grabbed Aladdin in the dark. Then the lights went on. And everyone saw it was Aladdin trying to do something to the woman.

‘What were you trying to do, eh?’ A boy asked.

‘Nothing.’ Aladdin spoke with fear.

‘Chuck him out.’ A few voices said from the back row.

They chucked him outside the cinema. ‘If you come this way again we’ll break your legs. You understand?’ The guy said.

Aladdin nodded and began to walk towards the bus station. It was already dark so he changed his mind and decided to stay in the city. He found a hotel and spend the night.

Next morning, he went back outside for a walk. Going for a morning walk was his regular habit. On the other road, there was another cinema. This was bigger than the first one.

He was going through a busy road. He heard a voice. He looked back and saw a man announcing there will be a speech in the big hall this afternoon. Aladdin thought he would go and see who is the famous man speaking.

‘Oh, a lecture. The genie told me if I give a lecture in a crowd, I would become famous. I’ll go and see who’s gonna be a big man.’ Aladdin muttered to himself. ‘I don’t know when my turn to be a big man is. These people are hitting me on every sentence I speak.’

He spent another two hours enjoying the views in the city. He had beginning to know most of the big towns and place. Once, he was going through a busy market, he spotted a stylish shop and there was a window. In the window, there were different ladies, wearing different clothes. They seemed to be looking at Aladdin constantly. Aladdin blushed, wondering why they were looking at him like this. The man in the shop smiled at this. Actually, they were models and Aladdin thought they were real girls. He kept looking at them.

Anyway, he began walking in the shopping centre and decided he would stop at the barbershop and have some hair cut. He searched a barbershop and spotted one.

He entered and a man looked at him. Aladdin ignored him and sat on the chair.

‘What is it?’ The man asked.

‘Need a hair cut.’ Aladdin said.

‘Then sit on this chair.’ The man said and Aladdin sat on the chair. The barber did a good job. Aladdin paid him and looked in the mirror.

‘Very nice.’ He said.

The barber wasn’t noticing so he went out.

Aladdin didn’t go home yesterday, so he thought he’d just leave the lecture and go home. His mother might be looking for him.

He decided not to attend the speech and instead began walking towards the bus station.

What a day, he thought.

I love this version of A Whole New World. Their voices meld together so well. They both have such strong voices. And KyuHyun's singing is just sooo... can't think of the word. But its just sooo strong and heartfelt.

In the beginning of the video, Charice was asked who she liked best and she picked KyuHyun. Yesung was sooo cute. hahaz he pretended to think that she meant him. LOL. anywayz all the other members were pushing Yesung to sit down. LOL!!!!!!! And KyuHyun did his cute 'victory' gesture *squish*. and when she was asked why, she said it was because she heard that he had a good voice and she wanted to sing with him.

Then the Leeteuk said let's pick a song now. I really like the Aladdin theme song very much. KangIn asked Leeteuk, what's the title of the song and Leeteuk said Oh Honey world. LOL!!!!!! HONEY WORLD?!? Where did he get that from? Well everyone burst out laughing. hahaz

Then the song started. Gosh KyuHyun's singing is sooo good and dreamy. His pronounciation throughout the whole song was really really good. =]

At the end of the song, Leeteuk was crying and he said it was because he was also part of the accident and he was very happy whenever he hears KynHyun sings... sigh me too. The care that the other members have for him is soooo touching. KangIn was crying as well.

I'm a fan of all things Disney(not so much Hannah Montana, but hey, I can't like everything, right) So, last night I was looking up some info on Transformers 2: Revengeof the Fallen (that's what it's called...for now). In my search, I came across an article saying how racist and unrealistic movies are today. Specifically referring to each Disney princess. WTF?!? I can't find the site, but here's what I can recall about what was said about each princess.

Snow White

She's fat! WTF?!? I'm not 100% sure, but I seem to recall her age being between 14-16, so of course she's gonna have some meat on her bones. When did that become so wrong? Also, she's far from being fat.

Cinderella

Can;t remember exactly what was said about her, but it was something about the blonde hair and blue eyes. Is there something wrong with that? Was she supposed to have the same hair and eyes as Snow White?

Sleeping Beauty

She's a clumsy, lazy bitch! Apparently, pricking your finger on a spinning wheel makes you clumsy and lazy.

**Side Note...according to my Disney group Maleficient seems to be the consensus fav villain followed by Scar, Jafar, and Hades**

Ariel

She's too skinny and needs to put some clothes on. I agree she could do with some meat on her bones, but she swims around all day. Is she supposed to look like Ursala? As far as the needing to put some clothes on...well, when was the last time you saw a mermaid swimming around with a flannel shirt on or something? Seriously!

Eilonwy

Chances are you don't know who this is. She's from The Black Cauldron (not exactly the most popular of the Disney movies)
Anyway, the complaint about her was her name wasn't easily said and she was another blonde. Her name!?!? Seriously?!? Next!

Jasmine (my personal fav princess)

I remember this one almost word for word...She's showing too much skin, she's not dark enough, shes not wearing a veil, her hair isn't long enough, and she doesn't have a mid-eastern accent, and she's too voluptuous and bouncy. My guess is that whoever wrote that article I was looking at last night must've been of Mid Eastern/Indian decent, becuse it sounded like he was deeply offended by the site of her.

Meg

She's a slut. Umm...not quite sure I agree...but I don't totally disagree, but that's her character.

Esmarelda

She can't dance and there were no gypsies in France. I'm not so sure about there not being gypsies in France, since she is a character in the actual book, and as far as the not being able to dance...well, that sounds like he was just trying to find something to pick on her about

Mulan

She's too "mannish". OMG! She's impersonate a man to save her father, of course shes gonna be mannish. WTF?!?

Pocahontas

I don't too much care for this movie, but still, there's no need to say she needs to lose some muscle tone because she looks like an Amazon bodybuilder type rather than a Native American princess. She's supposed to have some definition, like Ariel, she doesn't just sit around a castle all day, but to call her an Amazon is ridiculous.

Lilo & Nani

As with Snow White, he seems to think they're fat. Unlike with Snow White, they're supposed to be a little more "realistic". Of course, the artist that drew them also seems to like drawing big butts...lol

coming soon...
Tiana (The Princess and the Frog 12/25/2009)

yes...this will be a 2-d hand drawn movie *GASP*

His complaint was that she looks like an ape from the side and has too many ethnic features. Of course, I could go on for a whole different blog on the stuff I've heard and read about people complaining about this one and how many times they've changed it. My personal opinion is there's nothing wrong with her, and until the move actually comes out, there's no reason to complain

Rapunzel (2010?)

She's not blonde, she looks too fat, her hair is too short, and Kristin Chenowith's (Glinda from Wicked and she also is in Pushing Daisies) voice is going to drive him insane. Ok...dude complains about the others being blonde, but has a cow about Rapunzel? From this pic, you can't even really see how long her hair is. I would wager this is early on and her hair gets longer later on. Not going to dignify the weight comment. She thinner than Snow White. WTF?!? As far as Kristin Chenowith...I can see how it can get annoying, but so can anyone else's .

So, as you can see. The guy that wrote this had some issues. Notice Tinkerbell was left off. He had nothing bad to say about her. It was actually quite graphic in the praise he gave about her and what he wanted to do to her. I'll leave it at that.

I respect other people's opinions and all, but good grief, there's no need to go about criticizing stuff just for the sake of it. Each of these characters was created by different artists ant different periods of time and also represent different cultures and eras. The Disney people knew what they were doing when they created them. Besides, they're for enjoyment and entertainment, not criticizing.

Chapter 5

Today wasn’t the day to call the genie. Aladdin wanted to talk to him and ask him about what kind of advice he gave him. But he didn’t want to disturb him so he didn’t call him.

He had come home late afternoon with all the bruises and injuries. Luckily, his mother didn’t saw him. He just said ‘hi’ and went to his bed because he was very tired and injured.

He opened the first aid kit and healed himself with whatever skill he had. He stretched on his bed and thought about today. He had remembered all the incidents that happened. He had remembered them one by one. He wanted to take revenge but he’s too young. He can’t risk his life for it.

Aladdin thought that he shouldn’t let his hope down. He thought the genie gave him the idea. It’s got to be a good idea. He had heard once from his father that ‘for good things to achieve you have to go through hard times’. That’s what it is maybe. Today I got hit by people. Tomorrow there will be some good things to do, he thought. He decided to give it a try. He felt quite relaxed and positive now. He slept, thinking about all this.

The next day he woke up, he saw his mom was shaking him to get up. It was just before midday. He got up, did a shower and after eating something, he went to the city by bus.

After arriving in the city, he went to another town. No way was he going to that town today. He headed for a brand new place. He had feared that the juggler might be there entertaining today because Aladdin heard him say that he worked daily.

The town was full of people. Aladdin was going through the busy crowd thinking what to do and what not to do. Everyone was busy in their lives that nobody noticed a blind man trying to cross the road.

Aladdin saw the blind man getting ready to cross the busy road. He saw the blind man was frightened. Aladdin went forward and took hold of his hand.

‘Don’t worry sir. I’ll cross you to the other side.’ Aladdin said.

He crossed the man to the other side. The blind man thanked him. Aladdin was very happy by this. He tossed some money in blind man’s hand.

Aladdin stood there for a long time, looking at the poor blind man go. Then, he began to walk. He was very happy because he did a very good thing. He had a smile on his face.

It was midday now and Aladdin was very hungry. He had lots of money in his pocket. So, he decided to eat. He went in a good decent restaurant and ate and ate until he was full. When he stepped out of the restaurant, he saw two little boys fighting with each other. Aladdin stepped in and told them not to fight like this and share with each other. He also gave them a small note to them. The kids were very happy and they made their way to home. Aladdin walked a little further, smiling.

He saw lots of trees in front of him and he saw a wooden fence. In other words, he had come to a dead end. There was a sign saying ‘NO TRESPASSING’. Aladdin thought what kind of sign is this. It’s just only a wooden fence. What’s so scary about it. Then, he heard a growling noise behind him. He thought instantly: dogs. He was scared of dogs very much. He ran towards the fence and began climbing, forgetting the sign was there. He jumped. Now he was safe. He didn’t see any dogs on the other side. He jerked the dirt off his clothes and began walking in the tress. He saw a house and a farmer digging with shovel. Aladdin made a coughing noise. The man looked up. Quite a big man with muscles and it looked like he never shaved in two days. He had a match in his mouth.

‘Where did you came from?’ he asked in a strict voice.

Aladdin pointed at the fence. ‘From there.’ He said.

The guy rested the heavy shovel on his shoulder and began walking. He had a cowboy hat on his head. When he came near him, he chucked away the shovel and lifted Aladdin like he was an action man toy.

‘You done a big mistake, my man. You saw the sign back there?’ The guy asked in a harsh voice. Aladdin was terrified by him. The guy was scary and smiled like he was just going to munch Aladdin in a single piece. Aladdin nodded. ‘Let me go. I won’t come here again.’

The guy chucked him on the ground. ‘Run for your life.’ The guy said and picked up the shovel. Aladdin heard barking and saw three big dogs were coming on to him. They were still some distance away from Aladdin. It was time to run. Aladdin was pure scared like hell. He stood up and ran to the fence as far as he can. The dogs began chasing him. Aladdin jumped the fence and began running to the bus station. Then, he slowed down thinking people might think he is stealing something again. Today was a good and bad day. 70 good and 30 bad, he decided.
