Introducing the "Bottleheads", a new product line of T-Shirts and Greeting Cards available at my store - check it out!

This fun collection of glass characters have been created using Adobe Photoshop and my Kodak Z730 digital camera...each consists of nearly 100% photographs of real glass bottles (some dating as far back as the late 1800's) which have been digitally tweaked. Perhaps only 5% of each is not glass at all but, rather, purely graphic additions (such as, in some cases, the eyes).

As a child, one of my favorite hobbies was digging for and collecting old bottles. A nearby abandoned building on a hillside - which we affectionately referred to as the "Haunted House" - provided the primary source for the extraction of glass relics. Decades later, I still have several of these bottles.

With improved artistic skills and the imagination of a child, perhaps, I have constructed this series of "Bottlehead" characters. Each is different, some are funny, all are original. I hope that you will enjoy my characters, these mostly happy faces from the past...

So today in class we went over how to retouch blemishes and skin imperfections out of our portraits. This was my first time really doing more than just the healing brush or the clone stamp in Photoshop and the one that I chose was a challenge. I am really happy with how the photo turned out! So here is the before and after of my retouching and I'll be working on many more of them later. Let me know what you think!
