Ett tickande hjärta

Ja ni läste rätt! Allt såg bra ut på vul:et, vi fick se en liten bebis på 7 mm med ett tickande hjärta. Helt otroligt att ett hjärta slår på ett sånt litet embryo/foster. Bebisen verkar vara i rätt storlek också, men för säkerhets skull får vi komma tillbaka om två veckor igen för ett nytt vul för att se så att det växer som det ska. Ser det fortfarande bra ut då kan jag ringa till MVC för inskrivning. Läkaren, som är jättebra sa att vid 9 fall av 10 så brukar det gå bra när man har sett ett hjärta vid den här tiden. Så vi får väl börja försöka tro att det ska gå hela vägen nu!

Fick med oss en liten bild på den lilla, kanske inte säger er så mycket eftersom det inte syns så bra. Men där pilen är, där ligger i alla fall våran 7 millimeters knotte :-D

The former Red Sox player has swapped coasts!

On July 31, 2008, Manny Ramirez was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-way deal. The Boston Red Sox acquired outfielder Jason Bay, and the Pittsburgh Pirates got infielder Andy LaRoche, and pitcher Bryan Morris from the Dodgers, and outfielder Brandon Moss and pitcher Craig Hansen from the Red Sox.

From 4pm PST to 1pm the next day, eleven thousand tickets were bought to see Manny make his Friday night Los Angeles debut in Dodger blue. I was fortunate enough to attend that sold out game, even though we lost.

Ramirez has always worn uniform number 24, but the Dodgers have retired that number in honor of Hall-of-Fame manager Walter Alston. Ramirez countered the Dodgers suggestion of 28 by suggesting 34, but no Dodger has worn that number since Fernando Valenzuela. After dancing around number 66, Ramirez finally accepted number 99, but the next day asked for 28, the Dodgers' original suggestion. However, the Dodgers' marketing department had already begun producing merchandise with number 99, so Ramirez will wear that number. Ramirez has also told manager Joe Torre that he would cut his dreadlocks. So far that has not happened.

In his first game with the Dodgers on August 1, he went 2-for-4. The Dodgers still lost, however, to the Arizona Diamondbacks by a score of 2 to 1.

Surprisingly, the talentless Andruw Jones was still disgracing us with his presense in the outfield and in the batting line-up while the stronger players Andre Ethier and Juan Pierre sat on the bench, only coming in to pinch hit (in which they were both successful). Personally, I don't care how much money Jones is making, if you can't deliver, then sit down! In any other business, he would have been canned for not being able to produce results, despite how much money he is being paid. I believe he should give the Dodger fans a chunk of his earnings for having to endure his constant sucking. I have no tolerance for a man who continuously fails to perform.

Manny, however, got his 1st home run with the Dodgers last night, on August 2nd, 2008, in a game versus the Diamondbacks. It was a two-run home run to the left-field pavilion that proceeded to give the Dodgers a 2-0 lead, which Los Angeles ultimately won, 4-2. This was the 511th home run of his career.

I have high hopes for the Dodgers new line-up. Manny will not disappoint, although he no longer has the big green monster in left field to assist him. But with the Dodgers current players, I don't see why they can't get themselves back into first place and have a shot at the playoffs. Unless Torre continues to pray that Andruw Jones will finally hit the ball and keeps playing him. It's not a risk I would take, but I'm not Joe Torre. But Jones or no Jones, I finally have some hope for our Dodgers.

Tournée d'été

En route joyeuse troupe!

Huit mains (agiles), quatre têtes (bien pleines), huit jambes (d'athlètes) n'étaient pas de trop pour que la tournée mondiale (de deux dates) des Dieselles soit une réussite.

Dimanche 6 juillet, une fois amarres et enfants largués, le troupe a pris la route, direction le Gard toutes!

Dans la Kangourouge, quatre bondissants (+ ou -) personnages : Sergio Blondasses, Hervé (remplaçant Jérôme aux lumières, contraint de construire un camion toutes les 4 minutes), Christine et Caroline.

Que d'égards dans le Gard

Première halte de cette tournée : Manduel dans le "30" où se tenait le 3e Festival Artsceniq. Public petit par la taille mais costaud dans les applaudissements.

Ce fut surtout l'occasion de rencontrer la présidente Christiane et toute sa fratrie impliquée à fond dans l'organisation de ce rendez-vous qui gagne à être connu.

Troupes de théâtre : inscrivez-vous y!

Nous y avons reçu un trophée espécialement réalisé par un jeune ferronnier du coin.

Après une nuit dans la caravane de Christiane et une visite aux amis des environs (Chéchile, Anthony, Loubiana, Arion, Fanfan, Vincent : ils vont tous bien!), direction les P.-O. (c'est comme ça qu'on appelle les Pyrénées-Orientales quand on est "in"...)

Les Dieselles étaient programmées le mardi 8 juillet à Saint-André (66) dans le cadre du 9e festival européen de théâtre amateur qui a réuni pas moins de 3000 spectateurs... dont Catherine et Alain from Berk-en-Brousse venus nous applaudir! Merci les amis!

Pas de raison de se la jouer fausses modestes : les Dieselles ont bien carburé!

Salle comble et public enthousiaste!

On apprit que nous étions des rescapées de la sélection (la faute à not' prestation sur DVD...) : encore merci aux dames du comité de sélection d'avoir insisté. Sans elles nous n'aurions pas eu la joie de fouler la scène de Saint-André.

Au vu de l'accueil que le public nous a réservé, elles n'avaient pas l'air de regretter leur choix. Le soir, devant le public de la pièce de 21h30, Christian Cavalca, le directeur du Festival a même remercié ces dames d'avoir insisté. Il nous apprit plus tard que nous avions frôlé le Prix du Public, coiffés dans la dernière ligne droite par l'excellente troupe de Narbonne et Ses p'tits vélos.

Pas de prix donc mais de belles rencontres avec l'équipe du festival Francine Cruz en tête, Christian le directeur, le maire Francis Manent et nos potes "Pleins feux" Jord et Claude, qui ont illuminé notre séjour :)

Un accueil tip top et une semaine passée à jouer et applaudir d'autres troupes : le rêve quoi.

Les Dieselles se souviendront de Saint-André, et Saint-André sans doute un peu aussi, d'autant que Sergio et Hervé offrirent un concert du tonnerre le vendredi soir : personne n'en ressort indemne.

Le mot de la fin à Francis Manent, maire aimant :

"Vous êtes ici chez vous, vous y rejouez quand vous voulez"
